September is the new January. The difference between working on your own and being on a team. If you don't regret anything than you probably haven't risked enough. What have you learned in failure that you couldn't learn in success? When you succeed you've stewarded well, but you're not learning much. If you don't set clear boundaries, someone else will. What to do and what not to do when leading creatives God's not surprised. Grace always wins. Music never stops being powerful. God's responsible for tomorrow. The concepts are simple but plan to listen to this episode a few times to take it all in. This episode is brought to us by touchpoint software. TouchPoint is a church management system built by the church for the church. We are an online church management platform and mobile app designed to work together to keep your church connected at any time, and any place. The newly relaunched TouchPoint mobile app enables church staff, lay leaders, and members to manage giving, check in for classes and small group, update their contact information, stream sermon audio and video, register for events, receive messages, complete ministry tasks, schedule marketing messages, and more. And because the app integrates with your TouchPoint database, your members’ contact information is correct and up to date. Our mission at TouchPoint is to eliminate the need for numerous point solutions and free you from data silos. We want you to see disciples, not data. Break it down.* Clint and his team break positions down to get as many people involved on their team as possible. This may mean breaking one position into four separate roles. They understand that most people are busy and aren't able to commit to a bigger position so they figured a way to get people to start serving on their team by breaking the roles down. *2. Share the share* Clint is very intentional about replacing himself. On a typical Sunday, his church will sing three songs and he makes sure that he leads no more than two of those songs. He looks to share the spotlight with other worship leaders whether it be through co-leading a song or them leading worship by themselves. *3. Know your audience* Clint and the Freedom House team know that they have both churched and unchurched people in the audience on Sunday mornings. This affects the words that they say from the stage so that they connect with people rather than confuse people. *Quotes to Tweet* "Comfort is the enemy of growth." - @cpugh @LearnersPodcast Click to Tweet ( http://ctt.ec/DcHEc ) "Expose yourself to bigger thinkers and better leaders than yourself." - @cpugh @LearnersPodcast Click to Tweet ( http://ctt.ec/2MHyf ) *New Episode Every Tuesday* Subscribe for free on iTunes! Creativity is more muscle than magic.* We tend to think that creativity is only reserved for certain people, but everyone can be creative. There are things you can do to help expand your creativity, whether it be changing the canvas, putting music into your day, or collecting ideas everyday. *2. Hit the pause button when you're stuck.* At some point, you are going to get stuck. When that happens take a break, walk around or do something fun. Then look back through your collection of ideas to see if an idea will spark something. *3. Inspiration can come from anywhere.* You need to be prepared for when inspiration will hit... because it will. It may be an app or taking a picture with your phone, but you need a system to collect your ideas. *Quotes* "Creativity is more muscle than magic." - @B_REWSTER @LearnersPodcast Click to Tweet ( https://www.instagram.com/thelearnerscorner/ ) "The pause button is what's absent in most creative processes." - @B_REWSTER @LearnersPodcast Click to Tweet ( https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/the-learners-corner-podcast/id1191180253?mt=2 ) "Creativity is done better when it's done in community." - @B_REWSTER @LearnersPodcast [Click to Tweet][12] "Start being intentional with how you're being inspired." - @B_REWSTER @LearnersPodcast [Click to Tweet][13] "As a leader, where you put your attention is where you gain momentum." - @B_REWSTER @LearnersPodcast Click to Tweet ( http://ctt.ec/cUdOg ) "Our actions speak louder than our leadership axioms do." - @B_REWSTER @LearnersPodcast Click to Twitter ( http://ctt.ec/1c2bL ) *New Episode Every Tuesday* Subscribe for free on iTunes! We have to give up some of our preferences for the sake of unity.* Citizens Akron does music from all different cultures and ethnicities. This makes it uncomfortable for everyone because they may not know what is being said or what they should do. *2. When we have ethnic diversity we have a more complete picture of reality.* Having one ethnicity only gives you one perspective. Including all ethnicities reveals other people's perspectives. This helps develop empathy and compassion for people who are different than you. *3. Be woke.* Don't be asleep to what is happening in culture. Be aware of the realities that your community is facing and what is happening in the culture. *Quotes* "We have to give up some of our preferences for the sake of unity." - @CalebMason @LearnersPodcast Click to Tweet ( http://ctt.ec/4Fwn8 ) "Just because I don't understand something doesn't mean it's not beautiful." - James Talbert @LearnersPodcast Click to Tweet ( http://ctt.ec/bfb_A ) "The Gospel is more than vertical reconciliation.
