What do you do when you're in “flood season”, when life feels fast, heavy, and uncertain? In this conversation, Pastor Chris Kouba and Josh Thomas dig into Joshua 4 and the powerful moment when God tells Israel to build memorials after crossing the Jordan River—one on the riverbank and one set in the river. Why two? Because we forget. And when we forget where we've been, we lose confidence about where we're going. They talk about practical ways to remember and recount God's faithfulness like journaling, physical reminders, and intentionally telling the “God stories” to your kids, your wife, your friends, and the people you lead. If you're in the middle of something right now, this one is for you: God is faithful at the finish line and He's faithful in the middle too!To find out more about Pastor Chris, follow him on all the social platforms (@ckouba) and to connect with the ministry of United City visit https://unitedcity.church.Show NotesFollow on Instagram: @stepup.podcastFollow United City: @untdcitychurchConnect with Pastor Chris: http://chriskouba.comMore About United City: https://unitedcity.church/

Most coaches think they have a marketing problem. Truth is… They have a trust problem. In this episode, I walk you through the exact marketing system we're using to sell over $52M/year in coaching programs. Not theory. Not "one funnel away" BS. The actual system we use to sign 5 to 20+ new clients a month (yes, on repeat) without giving into 'trend tracking' or burning your ad budget on webinar funnels that just don't work anymore. Here's what you'll discover: • Why views, content, and followers aren't converting (and the one metric you must fix) • The 6 RMAs Playbooks that generate leads, book calls, and close clients while you sleep • The $100K/week partner case study (and how fast it happened) • Why most coaches stall at $30K/month—and how to break through to $100K+ • The 7-11-4 Trust Framework that makes strangers buy from you • How to go from "struggling founder" to "peaceful operator" in 90 days • The only 3 phases that matter: Incubate, Step Up, Scale Up • How to build a sales machine that prints clients (even if you hate tech) • What's actually working and what to stop doing ASAP • Why most masterminds, agencies, and ad coaches are keeping you stuck • How to build a $1M/year profit machine without becoming the bottleneck If you're ready to simplify, scale, and finally enjoy your business again…

Why Kids Are Spiraling, Markets Are Crashing & Adults Won't Step Up | The Karel Show 26-7 Something is breaking — socially, politically, and economically — and today's episode connects the dots. In Las Vegas, a man is suing the families of seven teens after a violent park attack. It's not an isolated incident. I've been attacked twice by kids on e-bikes myself. Across the country, young people are acting out with little consequence, little guidance, and little accountability — often raised by overwhelmed adults who were never prepared to raise anyone at all. We also look at Brooklyn Beckham going public in a way that reflects a much larger generational unraveling — and ask what happens when kids are raised by kids in a culture with no guardrails. Meanwhile, Donald Trump tanked the markets, threatened Greenland (yes, again), and sparked renewed calls — including from a sitting Senator — to invoke the 25th Amendment. Congress, as usual, does nothing. As conditions escalate rapidly, the question isn't if this gets worse — it's who will finally act. We also break down: • Peet's Coffee closing Bay Area locations • Starbucks downsizing nationwide • Whether the era of $10 coffee is finally ending • And yes — a determined coyote trying to reach Alcatraz

A family health crisis in 12th grade turned textbook biology into lived experience when her dad had a stroke, pushing her toward medicine. As an undergrad in Puerto Rico, limited coursework and advising meant no neuroscience classes and little formal premed guidance, so she created her own path: seeking research at the UPR School of Medicine, leaning on student societies, and knocking on doors.Summer research programs and a mentor at MIT helped her see the MD/PhD route as possible and gave her access to resources she hadn't had before. Along the way she faced stereotypes about MCAT scores, earned a 502 on her first attempt, and chose a gap year to rethink prep—designing ADHD-friendly strategies, studying with friends, and turning accountability into momentum. We talk about building community when DEI programs are shrinking, using public platforms like this one to find mentors, and why collaboration beats competition. Alyssa shares her acceptance moment, how her MD/PhD cohort became instant family, and the intentional, introspective work behind a compelling application. What You'll Learn:- How a family health crisis clarified her path to medicine- Navigating premed without a dedicated advising office- Finding research and mentors through cold outreach- Rethinking MCAT prep after a 502 and choosing a gap year- Building community and rejecting zero-sum premed thinking

How Great Coworkers Step Up, Speak Up, And Grow Together

The Leadership Line

What does a good coworker look like when the stakes are real, the calendar is packed, and life crashes through the door? We share the story of a year that stripped leadership down to the studs and revealed a team stronger than anyone realized. When personal loss shook the top, our crew didn't freeze—they stepped in, made decisions, and carried the load without keeping score. That experience reframed how we think about support, accountability, and the space leaders must create for others to grow.We dig into a practical playbook for everyday teamwork. First, act when you see a need, even if it's “not your job.” That see something, do something mindset compounds into a culture of ownership. Then, speak up with hard truths in a soft way. Don't triangulate; go direct. We talk through scripts, timing, and tone so feedback feels like maintenance, not warfare. Civility matters, especially when the default is blame and name calling. And timing matters even more—address issues early, before resentment builds and voices rise.We also unpack the other side of feedback: receiving it. Most workplaces reward defensiveness and perfection theater. We want the opposite. Curiosity, clear asks, and next steps create momentum and trust. Leaders have a special role here: stay small longer so the team can get big. It's uncomfortable, but it's the fastest route to discovering hidden capacity and building resilience that lasts beyond any one person. If you're ready to cultivate coworkers who are co-builders, not bystanders, this conversation gives you the language, habits, and mindset to start today. If this resonated, follow the show, share it with a teammate who needs it, and leave a quick review so others can find it. What's one hard truth you'll say softly this week?

In this episode of The Arsenal Opinion, Pete and Jacob break down a frantic but entertaining victory over Portsmouth. They discuss why the chaotic nature of cup games is often more enjoyable than the tactical rigidity of top tier Premier League fixtures and praise the fresh energy brought by the rotated squad. The conversation takes a brief detour to La Liga to analyze the exit of Xabi Alonso from Real Madrid. The hosts debate whether player power has gone too far and if modern superstars like Mbappe and Vinicius Jr are becoming unmanageable for even the world's best coaches. Back in North London, the focus shifts to individual performances with some contrasting takes. Jacob argues that Ethan Nwaneri looked like a seasoned midfielder against Portsmouth and makes the case for him to keep his place for the upcoming Chelsea clash. Pete dives into the worrying data surrounding Viktor Gyökeres and questions if the club missed a massive marginal gain by not signing a striker who better fits the system. The boys also share their relief at the return of Kai Havertz and discuss how his presence instantly balances the attack. Additional topics include the struggles of summer signings Eberechi Eze and Noni Madueke to find consistent output, the specific chemistry between Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli, and a full preview of the lineup dilemmas facing Mikel Arteta for the League Cup semi final. This week on Cattitude, Michelle Fern welcomes two remarkable heroes of animal disaster relief: Amy Houston, Founder/Director of Rancher Navy, and Ric Browde, CEO & Co-President of Wings of Rescue. Fresh off being honored by NAVC Gives, these dedicated organizations share how they leapt into action during the devastating central Texas floods — delivering feed and supplies, rescuing displaced pets, and supporting ranchers and shelters when hope was running thin. Hear how Rancher Navy's 24/7 volunteer force mobilizes aid for livestock communities, and how Wings of Rescue's “boots in the sky” airlifts save animals from overcrowded shelters and disaster zones. It's an inspiring look at courage, compassion, and the lifesaving impact of teamwork when animals need it most.EPISODE NOTES: Heroes in the Hardest Hours: Rancher Navy & Wings of Rescue Step UpBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/cattitude-the-1-cat-podcast--6666768/support.

As 2025 comes to a close, Josh Thomas and Pastor Chris Kouba reflect on a big year personally and at United City—and then pivot into a highly practical conversation about fasting as they head into 2026. They unpack why “the discipline of disconnecting” is often the missing piece for men who feel spiritually dry, distracted, or overloaded.Pastor Chris explains how fasting creates the kind of intentional emptiness that makes room to hear from God again—because, as he puts it, “most men are too full to hear from God.” From full schedules and nonstop entertainment to constant phone-checking and comfort habits, the problem often isn't a lack of information—it's a lack of space. This episode is also a step-by-step guide: what fasting is, why Jesus assumes we'll do it, how to choose a fast, what to do during a fast, and what to expect (including the famous “don't quit on Tuesday or Wednesday” moment). If you want 2026 to be marked by clarity, hunger for God, and a deeper walk—this one's for you.To find out more about Pastor Chris, follow him on all the social platforms (@ckouba) and to connect with the ministry of United City visit https://unitedcity.church.  Show NotesFollow on Instagram: @stepup.podcastFollow United City: @untdcitychurchConnect with Pastor Chris: http://chriskouba.comMore About United City: https://unitedcity.church/
