Temperley was born in 1978 in Mosman Park, Western Australia, and grew up in Fremantle. At seven years of age, his name was changed to 'Satyam Kavyen Temperley'—Temperley is his mother's maiden name and 'Satyam Kavyen' means "Poet of Truth". The Temperley family were members of the 'Orange People' (Rajneesh movement) and made trips to India as well Oregon, United States, throughout the early 1980s. Between the ages of seven and 12, Temperley attended the Lance Holt School, a Fremantle community school. At the age of thirteen, he accompanied his mother on a trip to India, where they stayed at the Osho International Meditation Resort in Pune. It was during this trip that he enrolled in an international alternative boarding school in Devon called Ko Hsuan that is based on the teachings of controversial Indian mystic Osho. Temperley was accepted as a boarder and remained at the school for a year: “That was an amazing place, musically. They had a really good music room. If we had two periods of math, in between we'd run off and jam for 10 minutes. We'd come back and be totally chilled because we'd gotten all that nervous energy out of our systems.” Temperley referred to his time at Ko Hsuan as his "saving grace", and it was there that he discovered a passion for music before he returned to Fremantle and John Curtin High School due to homesickness: “Then I thought I was going to become an actor until I started wagging school and writing songs.” Kav Temperley was frontman, bassist and songwriter of legendary Australian Rock band and 1990's Indie icons, Eskimo Joe. With 6 studio albums under their belts and sales in excess of 750,000, in Australia alone, the band has seen 3 of those albums debut at number 1 on the ARIA charts, with steamroller ‘Black Fingernails, Red Wine' shining for a monster 62 weeks in the ARIA Chart Top 50 and “Foreign Land”, from their 4th album ‘Inshalla', bringing home 2 APRA Awards, for Most Played Rock Song on Australian radio and Best Rock Song of 2010.

Living life to the full, at any age, has been a challenge recently. To put it mildly. But if Covid has taught us anything, it is that some of life's simplest pleasures are what make life itself worth living. Therein lies a metaphor for healthy aging. Physical fitness, social contact and an active mind go a long way towards helping us live longer and better. They are also central to the ideals of Aging is Cool, a Texas-based company that helps people over fifty stay active and engaged as they age. In this LLAMA episode, Aging is Cool co-founder, Amy Temperley, explains why she rails against a modern-day culture rife with ageism and how she hopes to redefine what it means to grow old. "Old is a feeling and I don't know that you're old until you decide that you're old," she says. In conversation with Peter Bowes, Amy also reveals how life with Covid has opened her eyes to the everyday activities that bring pleasure and purpose to life. Recorded: March 22, 2021 | Read a transcript and show notes at the LLAMA podcast website.Topics covered in this interview include:Targeting healthy, active aging and coming up with the idea for Aging is CoolRealizing that aging can be positive, celebrating a robust zest for life and it is okay to get older. WAES Footwear are the world's only plastic-free shoe company. A collaboration of shoe designers, ocean advocates, surfers, scientists, and manufacturers committed to producing beautiful stylish footwear which leaves no trace. The WAES logo is derived from the alchemy symbol for earth and the name itself is an acronym of the classical elements of Water, Air, Earth and Sun which defines their manufacturing philosophy of combining science and natural materials. There are more than 24 billion pairs of shoes made each year from plastic compounds which go straight to landfill. This brand has a passion for the natural world and want to stop fuelling a system stuck on full-throttle and seemingly intent on burying us all under a mountain of plastic. Their vision is for a world of zero-waste shoes, one which promotes tree planting and works in partnership with the natural carbon cycle. Their ambition is to change the way shoes are manufactured and to prove it is economically viable to produce beautiful, durable, and ultimately biodegradable footwear. In this episode of the MenswearStyle Podcast we interview Edward Temperley, Co-Founder of WAES Footwear, and talk about his love for surfing and what first inspired him to start a 100% biodegradable natural shoe brand in 2019. It was seeing the ocean plastic problem first-hand which motivated him to investigate making plastic-free footwear. Our host Peter Brooker and Edward also chat about launching on Kickstarter, industry greenwashing, the problem with microplastics, new sneaker designs in the process, and the best materials to use for manufacturing sustainable and vegan trainers.Whilst we have your attention, be sure to sign up to our daily MenswearStyle newsletter here. We promise to only send you the good stuff.

Episode 281 of Hand Of Pod sees Sam and Andrés look back on a weekend of action which saw Talleres leapfrog San Lorenzo to go second - albeit having played a game more - and Boca Juniors maintain the distance at the top of the Superliga with a nervy win over Temperley. There were a couple of high-scoring games to look back on as well, and Sebastián Ribas' red-hot scoring form continued with another goal for Patronato.
Episode 280 of Hand Of Pod sees Sam and Andrés discuss an entertaining round of Superliga action which saw the gap at the top remain at six points, thanks to second place San Lorenzo's 1-1 draw with league leaders Boca Juniors. Talleres went third with a fortuitous win over Temperley, and we also look at headline-grabbing solo performances for River Plate and Racing - namely Ignacio Scocco's brace, including a spectacular second, for River, and Lautaro Martínez's first senior hat trick for Racing.

The two hundred and sixty-fifth episode of Hand Of Pod sees Sam and Andrés discuss a weekend of league action in which River Plate and champions Boca Juniors continue to be the two teams to beat in the Superliga, even as River slumped last week to first leg defeat in the Copa Libertadores away to Jorge Wilstermann of Bolivia. There's also talk of Jorge Sampaoli's latest national team list (call-ups have gone out to players based abroad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Peru and Ecuador), and a change of venue for the Peru match to La Bombonera. As well as all this, Independiente's Alexis Zárate (currently on loan at Temperley, perhaps not for much longer) has been found guilty of rape, and there's some discussion of that verdict and the media reaction in Argentina.
In the two hundred and sixty-fourth episode of Hand Of Pod, Sam, English Dan and Andrés are joined by Julián for his second appearance, around two and a half years after his first. We look back on a second weekend of Superliga action which saw wins for River and Boca, a 4-1 tonking of Temperley by Racing, and - shock, horror - a goalless draw between Rosario Central and San Lorenzo. Last week's national team talk has sparked something of a discussion among our Twitter followers, so we address that in the second half, along with a look at why the national team are moving to La Bombonera for the upcoming World Cup qualifier against Peru.

Newcastle singer-songwriter Paige Temperley is looking forward to releasing her debut EP. The talented ‘folky-pop’ musician is releasing Let’s Start At The Very Beginning on November 11 and is excited about people finally being able to hear her music. She said: This is the first ever EP that I’ll have released, so I’m really excited about it. It’s a 4 track EP and I’d like to think it sort of takes you through a little journey of my life so far. Its full of stories which hopefully people will find relatable. I recorded it at Loft Studios in Newcastle City Centre, and some friends of mine, who also happen to be great musicians- Jamie Mackay, George Hutton, Matt Splevins and Niles Kreiger played on it; with that lot playing on it, the EP had to come out sounding good.”
In the two hundred and thirty-ninth episode of Hand Of Pod, Sam and Andrés discuss the main talking points from last weekend's Primera División action, including yet another three points for an Estudiantes side who continue to lead the league, and yet more goals conceded for River Plate, who threw away a 2-0 lead against the worst team in the Primera to draw 2-2. There's also a look at Boca Juniors' demolition of Temperley and San Lorenzo reserves' very entertaining 2-2 draw away to second-placed Newell's Old Boys, ahead of the first team's Copa Sudamericana semi-final first leg, which kicked off seconds before we finished recording. As well as all this, we consider what grounds the Bolivian football federation have for appealing the sanction that, on Tuesday, resulted in Chile being handed a 3-0 walkover which leapfrogged them above Argentina in the World Cup qualifying table.
"Come and knock on our door" is music to some people's ears -- at least if they're Three's Company fans. But it depends for most of us who's doing the knocking. In this episode of re:awakening, dream interpreter Yvonne Ryba analyzes a dream that her late husband Temperley (whom she met and married in England) had in 1997 after the couple endured numerous moves to and throughout the U.S. In Temp's dream, three gypsies come knocking on their door just as he discovers the fish and chips he's eating houses a batter-covered alligator! For more of Yvonne's dream interpretation -- including her previous analyses of dreams involving scorpions and bulls as prescient signs of the Zodiac -- check out season one of "re:awakening" in Chris's 2011-2013 podcast "Reimagine That!" The two-hundred and twelfth episode of Hand Of Pod sees Sam joined by Peter, Andrés and returning panel member Rob Brown to look back on the opening weekend of Primera División action; matches which saw River Plate tonk Quilmes 5-1, Boca Juniors held to a 0-0 draw away to Temperley and Racing suffer the indignity of defeat away to newly-promoted Atlético Tucumán, among other results. Rodolfo Arruabarrena's job as Boca manager is in serious jeopardy after a 4-0 defeat in the Supercopa Argentina (which happened after we recorded this episode), but he'll still be in charge this weekend - though for how much longer? We also give you the latest on Huracán's coach crash in Venezuela. Rumours of Patricio Toranzo having toes amputated are untrue.
Paige Temperley, who performs as a solo act as well as duo with her friend Jamie Mackay and as part of acoustic band Ourselves & Us, is passionate about teaching music to children and young people and hopes to create the next generation of local musicians. Despite having played the guitar since she was young, Paige only decided to pursue a career in music last year and is now focusing on both teaching and writing her own material.
The hundred and eightieth episode of Hand Of Pod sees Sam and Andrés joined by new boy Remi, who brings a continental European air of sophistication (and a typically Dutch manner of speaking against received wisdom) to the podcast. We discuss the results over the weekend which led to Boca Juniors, River Plate, San Lorenzo and Rosario Central to all be tied on 21 points at the top, look at an emotional clásico del Sur in which Lanús beat Banfield 2-1, and explain how River Plate were up against it in the Copa Libertadores as we recorded (we returned afterwards to let you know how that turned out). Remi also tells us about his visit to Temperley on Friday, where he watched the hosts beat Colón 2-1. This week's history section is a tribute to Uruguayan journalist, historian and football writer Eduardo Galeano, who died on Monday.
In the hundred and seventy-sixth episode of Hand Of Pod, Sam, Andrés and Santi look back over a goal-packed weekend of Primera action in which only four sides out of the thirty managed to keep clean sheets (and two of those were in the same game). River Plate's problems continued but they battled back to a 3-3 draw with Arsenal, whilst Rosario Central remain top of the league with a 100% record courtesy of a 1-0 victory over Temperley. And for Lanús, Santiago Silva's exit seems to have lifted some of the weight from their remaining attackers' shoulders, because they got a thumping 5-1 win away to Godoy Cruz. All of this is covered, as well as the Argentine sides in the Copa Libertadores and a look at the three local league players who've been called up to the national team for next month's 'tour' of the USA.
Alan Crim :: Creekside Church :: Sunday, July 13, 2014 How's your memory? How quickly do we forget the goodness of God in our lives? As you might retrace your steps when trying to recall something, Alan Crim takes us backwards through three scenes recorded in Mark 6:30-56. At times, Jesus' disciples failed to recognize Jesus and remember what He's done. Alan's message seeks to reflect on and reconnect our minds (and hearts) to the Savior of forgetful people. This message follows a brief farewell and prayer for the Temperley family before their move to Arizona.
