This Pandemic has been termed as “The Great Resignation.” People wanted to take control of their lives, professionally, personally and financially.  Today during our conversation around Burnout, I want us to focus on Sacred Rest.  This is not just sleeping. This is a sabbatical.  Sacred Rest is a time you take away from doing any sort of labor. This is time spent on yourself. This is time motivating your personal passion. Sacred Rest is the time to rest your mind, body and spirit. This is an ancient practice that was present in day to day life. This was the sabbath. This was a day of no labor. This can be just creating your own sabbath. A day of personal rest. Be more intentional about how you spend your day. What distractions can you tune out? What are your actions giving back to you? ------- Presented By: Cavalry Audio.  Producers: Jason Seagraves & Margot Carmichael.  Audio Editing: Revision Sound. What made you spot them as the “unicorns” before they were successful?   5) AI - what do you think about the prospects of AI becoming masters of humanity?   6) This Pandemic is only the beginning, there will be more.  What do you think the world should do, to be more prepared? What are your predictions about the future after this Pandemic?     7) Describe, in details, your vision of the world with AI, social media, digital currency, 2 years from now, 5 years from now, 10 years from now, 20 years from now   8) I am an opera fan. This season I was delighted to watch the New York Met Opera live performance in a Century 14 movie theater near my home, with surround sound effects, large screen, reclining chair (warmed up), AND social distancing too, I really don't feel like taking the BART to San Francisco Opera House, which I did for 25 years!  I am afraid the SF Opera Box Office will suffer a decline in ticket sales, so will many cities' opera houses throughout the world, since the Met is streamed to around 27 countries, more or less, at many local cinemas. Question #1: Do you agree that technology helping with monopolies (in this case, the Met) at the loss of local cities' opera houses, or musicals' performances? And isn't it consistent with the entire human society's trend toward monopolies, such as Google, Amazon, Apple and Microsoft, as well as in the political climate of autocracy vs democracy?   9) Climate change: How to address it?  To what extent are traditional ways of thinking, governing, investing, living… must change, and change fast?   10) The sorry state of US politics:  Do you think the two-party system is collapsing into its own dead end?  What do you think of the rank-choice voting that is used in New York's mayoral election and another state's governor's election?    11) What does “Kevin Surace Brand” stand for? What do you want the world to remember you, after you kick the bucket?

Ep159: Overcoming Limiting Beliefs (and Lack of Experience) to Break Into Scripted Television | with Marcella Garcia

Optimize Yourself

When editor Marcella Garcia originally reached out to me in January because she was stuck in the wrong place in her career and wanted to make a seemingly impossible transition into scripted entertainment, she did not expect to be sending me this message just six months later (in the Optimizer Slack community): Like Marcella, when people come to me for help, they commonly describe themselves as feeling stuck, overwhelmed, burned out, and ready to change. They are burdened with limiting beliefs that convince them they “can't change,” and they have no idea what the path looks like to get where they want to go next. Whether that sounds like personal growth jargon to you or not is irrelevant - what really matters are the results. Marcella is a shining example of the results that are possible when you put in the work. Growing up in San Antonio, Texas, Marcella didn't see a lot of other Mexican-American women becoming Hollywood film and television editors. Unconsciously this lack of representation held her back and even limited her dreams of what might be possible for her own career. She worked as a short form editor on digital lifestyle content for Fortune 500 magazine brands, but it wasn't until she mentored young women in high school that she realized she wanted more from her career. This led her to join the Optimizer coaching and mentorship program, and six months later the rest is history. In our conversation you'll hear how Marcella overcame her anxious thoughts, faced her fears, and discovered how much more she's capable of achieving. You'll also learn how she created a very clear (and very doable) path that has not only led Marcella to her first job as an assistant editor in scripted television, she's now mentoring other young women to pursue their passions in film and television becoming the representation she never had. → Click here to learn more about working with me in the Optimizer program Want to Hear More Episodes Like This One? » Click here to subscribe and never miss another episode Here's What You'll Learn: Marcella's history in editing and what brought her to the Optimizer community in January. The fears that held her back and made her doubt what she was capable of becoming. The challenges of being a Mexican American woman in editing. What led to Marcella ‘finding her why' that has kept her motivated to keep pursuing her dreams. The story behind Marcella's limiting beliefs and how she discovered her true passion in scripted film and television. How she dealt with the obstacle and fear of saying no to opportunities that weren't right. The importance of always providing value to others even when it means not getting what you think you want right away. KEY TAKEAWAY:  We're playing a game of chess not checkers. The factors that changed for Marcella to get her unlocked from her limiting beliefs. Marcella's ‘Tendency' and how she learned to deal with analysis paralysis. Learning your secondary tendency and how to manage it. Discovering how to pay attention to what you want and building awareness to patterns and habits that have been programmed since childhood. How being vulnerable in the Optimizer Community helped her get a job as a scripted AE. The incredible story of how Marcella nailed her interview to get the job she wanted. Marcella's advice for anyone wanting to start out on this journey who feels stuck and unsure of where to start. Guest Bio: Marcella is currently an assistant editor within the world of scripted television. Her desire to create, connect and collaborate with others to tell unique, impactful stories is what drives her to continuously grow within the film and television industry. Prior to becoming a scripted television assistant editor Marcella has worked as an editor for digital lifestyle content for Fortune 500 magazine brands and assisted on United Skates, an Emmy nominated documentary film. If you ask her what her greatest achievements have been over the past few years, she will say overcoming her own fears and limiting beliefs. This has allowed her to continuously reach her goals which has only fueled her to begin mentoring young, creative Mexican-American women from her hometown of San Antonio, Texas. By sharing her experience she hopes to inspire others. When she's not doing what she loves, she is drinking far too many Matcha lattes and biking around town. ASIA PACIFIC TODAY. Covid-19 and the massive fail of Journalism with Trish Wood.   This Pandemic has exposed Governments and their public Heath authorities and Advisory Boards like nothing else. Putting aside the disastrous lockdowns and incompetence in dealing with Covid-19, a travesty currently playing out is that while lives are being lost, early treatment of Covid-19 using inexpensive and well-known drugs is being rejected in advanced countries such as the US, Britain and Australia.   Worse still, eminent doctors who have used a range of safe drugs with stunning success have been threatened, censored and renounced by the medical institutions that employ them. Governments, Public health authorities and associated medical and Big Pharma advisors, mainstream media and BIG Tech are the chief Censors.   The cornerstone of Democracy is free speech. If free speech now has conditions to it it is no longer free. If we can't discuss all things covid without fear, then free speech is dead.   The stories of early treatment success will not go away and at some point, there will be a reckoning providing we keep asking questions and the media starts to do it's job.   Trish Wood is an award-winning investigative journalist who has come to her own conclusions in one of her recent podcasts, which features yet another example of medical censorship involving the low-cost drug, Ivermectin and the author of a review that won't see the light of day.   Some of Trish's works include the critically acclaimed, five-part documentary series for Amazon Studios 'Ted Bundy: Falling for a Killer'. Trish was one of the hosts for the Emmy Award-winning investigative current affairs series, The Fifth Estate. In 2006 Trish published What Was Asked of Us: An Oral History of the Iraq War by the Soldiers Who Fought It. And Trish went on to create I Didn't Do It, believed to be the first-ever wrongful conviction series.

Psalm 19:1-2 The heavens are telling of the glory of God; And their expanse is declaring the work of His hands. Day to day pours forth speech, And night to night reveals knowledge.   I would like to share about the passing of my mother. One thing I love about the Lord is that we can know Him as Father. Father is such a surreal name for it entails more then relationship, but includes attributes. For a Father title comes with Fatherly characteristics A Father is a preparer. The term for head of house (Father) literally means to be out front. Which means to lead or prepare the way Jesus reflects His fatherly attributes by saying He is going to prepare a place for us and one day soon He will come and reveal that place to us for all of eternity Another attribute of a Father is a Provider. Father provides Another Attribute of a Father is Protector. Father PROTECTS These are three attributes that really speak the loudest when understanding God as Father. Father is a preparer (Gets things ready for the family) Father is a provider (Makes sure family has all they need) Father is a protector (Makes sure family is safe from the schemes of the enemy) In a practical sense I would like to reflect how my Father moved on my family's behalf during the lost of my mom.   Father as a PREPARER: His timing FATHER AS A PROVIDER: HIS comfort FATHER AS A PROTECTOR: HIS promises   Father as a PREPARER: His timing   Matthew 24:21-22 “For then there will be a great tribulation, such as has not occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever will. “Unless those days had been cut short, no life would have been saved; but for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short.   I have written in my Bible from years ago, “The ELECT IMPACTS HISTORY AND TIME!” You see the Lord is in control of TIME and SEASONS and from this passage and so many like it, it appears as though He uses His ability and power to direct the course of time to a desired goal. What is that desired goal, the good of His people, and the glory of His name.   Colossians 1:17 He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. The Apostle Paul declares that Jesus is out in front, and the out in front means leading the way, preparing the way Then it says, “HE is holding all things together.” He is out in front preparing the way and making sure that WAY is secure in HIM When we are in the States we stay with my mom She has always been gracious enough to allow us to be with her and help her in areas of need. Last year we bought a one way ticket for the first time, not knowing when we would return, but in November the Lord told me to return in December for He had something for me. We did and was able to have Christmas for the first time in the States in 4-5 years. Pretty special time with my family and loved ones, especially my mom Then at the start of the year we began to meet and prepare for our return to Vietnam and like every other time before the Lord gave me a general idea of when we are to go and so I purchased our tickets for the middle of March THEN CORONA SHUT DOWN, I mean COMPLETE LOCKDOWN VIETNAM closed, TICKETS CANCELED and nation on lockdown Because of my mom's health condition we really had to be wise, respectful and careful, so we did not go any where Every day, we were home, in her little house hanging out with her and enjoying her Everyday we ate, laughed, drank coffee, argued, bothered, and spent time together Since December of 2019 until mid July 2020 we were with my mom almost every day, all day long. This Pandemic has been awful, and horrific, but it has also been used by God     Psalm 139:12 Even the darkness is not dark to You, And the night is as bright as the day. Darkness and light are alike to You.   The night that my mom passed I had been teaching our pastors online and went to go to sleep about 2 am I heard some movment but it was normal movement, but I drifted off to sleep I woke up 45-1 hour later and went to go to the bathroom and poked my head into her room to check on her and saw her laying across the bed I went over and was trying to wake her up and was praying I just felt like it was not right, so I started CPR while I was on the phone with 911 The ambulance came and took over CPR and was able to get a pulse, and vital signs They took her to the hospital and my family made their way here We were confronted with the reality that she is ready to go be with the Lord and in the midst of Corona Virus they were not letting people in to see their family members in that section, but God gave us great victory

The Impact: Coronavirus and Organized Crime

This Pandemic is causing huge economic impacts. The World Bank has forecast a contraction of 5.3% in global GDP in 2020 – that is the deepest global recession in decades leaving lasting scars on the lives of people living all over the world. And this could manifest itself in many ways - a rush to push government policy through to help combat the immediate effects of COVID means that the usual stringent checks may be ignored. And organized criminal networks are positioning themselves to capture state institutions and contracts – enriching themselves at the expense of the public. This is the second installment in my series “It's Emotional–Creating an Unprecedented Team and Customer Experience in This Pandemic.” This series is designed to offer tools to manage your emotions as well as support the emotional journey of your prospects and customers. There are days in this pandemic reality that quite literally seem upside down. While disorienting at times, I am heartened by how core leadership and human experience skills resoundingly apply; particularly when those skills are tempered by some new emotional guidelines.

This Pandemic has brought a substantial amount of change to all of our lives.  Myself included.  This episode is my point of view on how we can potentially thrive through all this, appreciating the little things in live when it comes to ourselves, our family, and our relationships, by disconnecting our devices and reconnecting with nature.    On the other hand, when it comes to thriving from a business sense in this "new normal", we need to better connect and adapt to the new digital economy and utilize it to its fullest potential. *DISCLAIMER:  This episode offers NO Medical advice or any political views. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/lieorlegacy/message

After 500+ listens from different platforms like Spotify, we are finally available on Apple podcasts! Thank you for listening and loving this podcast as much as I do. Here's an episode for the world right now. I am humbled to be of service to our community during these charged times. Without further adieu… In this episode I discuss the following: - If you are listening to this episode from a neutral or minimally impacted perspective, you are privileged. What will you do with that privilege? - Everyone is living different versions of this. All of the variety in perspectives is the powerful call to step into nonjudgement. - This Pandemic is the catalyst to the Great Awakening! - Can you answer this divine invitation to trust and surrender? - Individual upgrades in consciousness can look like losing jobs, weddings and important events cancelled, and being confined to your home's 4 walls to realize the ultimate liberation within. - Why is this an awakening for the global collective? - A change in consciousness is simply a shift in perspective. - Embrace your reaction to the pandemic and raise your consciousness. - How will YOU work with the frequency of Corona Virus for your own awakening and the good of humanity? - My predication for the series of events that we will come to know as The Great Awakening.
