Welcome to Episode 102 of Building My Legacy. In this podcast we talk with branding and social media expert Liz daRosa who has 20 years of experience supporting organizations as they pivot and maintain relevance for high growth. Liz does a great deal of work designing and executing strategies that improve team and organizational performance. She shares her own story with us about how a layoff forced her to pivot from a career she enjoyed in higher education. Today Liz coaches individuals who are trying to grow their own businesses and also works with organizations that need to optimize their social media efforts and get their branding where it should be. Our discussion with Liz is particularly timely as many organizations face major issues, such as how will we bring people back to the workforce, move forward with healing and encourage people to embrace diversity and inclusion. So if you want to know:– How “putting out positivity” can help you use social media more effectively– Why it often takes someone from the outside to create actionable steps that will make your business viable or move it to the next level– The biggest mistake people make when developing their online space– Why you need to understand the difference between a personal Facebook page and using social media for your business– The key to finding your own voice — and its importance on social media About Liz daRosaLiz daRosa knows firsthand why it’s important for individuals and businesses to be able to pivot. Central Oregon Birth Bereavement is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization founded to provide bereavement birth services to women/families who are currently facing pregnancy/infant loss (which may include miscarriage, stillbirth, preterm labor/loss, fatal fetal diagnosis and/or neonatal death) or who have experienced a loss. Today Liz is interviewing Jenny, founder and president, about the incredible service this non-profit provides to women and families in Central Oregon. A bereavement doula relationship can look however you want it to look. This is about what a bereavement doula is, what they can do, and the relationship they can have with each family. There are different styles of support, a uniqueness to each mother/father's grief, and how Be Still My Heart is trying to make an impact on how society treats loss. Free of charge, and available to any family whether they reside in Central Oregon or not, Be Still My Heart is about love without judgement, support without forcing, and healing without a timeline. The hurdle that most often face the bereavement doula community is how to convince each mother who has experienced a loss that her loss is deserving of a doula, and deserving of intentional postpartum time to process the highs and lows, the grief, the physical/hormonal adjustments, and the future of motherhood for her. Jenny is also passionate about being a doula for rainbow pregnancies which ties in so closely with loss. Link to ... Welcome back to another great episode of Dropset Gorgeous Radio! Today I’ve got a special guest, Liz Morgan AKA The Halo Top Queen, on the show to discuss the ins and outs of fitness shows - from local to national and everything in between. Liz’s fitness and competition journey - from getting started to national level competitions. Realistic look at how much work goes behind all shows, especially a national level competition. Setting realistic fitness goals, competition ready is not healthy long term. Stepping away from negative thoughts - staying positive for yourself. Navigating sponsorships. Being consistent, in all things. Today Liz really opens up with me, and we really get into the nitty gritty of competitive fitness and fitness overall. From what you should expect when prepping for a show, handling the disappointment of not placing, keeping realistic goals for yourself, to navigating the world of sponsorships - this episode has a little bit of everything and tons of great information when it comes to the competitive fitness scene! Powerful Quotes to Remember: The fact that you’re saying you’ll never do it - is the exact reason why you should do it. You can still be fit, happy, sexy, and content without competing. It’s not a requirement of fitness to participate in shows, that’s a whole other passion in itself. It is not healthy or realistic to think that you will be show ready all year long - that’s not the case. Happiness should always be your compass in life. Enjoy and love competing, don’t just focus on the win or get yourself down if you don’t place every single time.
