It's time for another Mind Gap Podcast! This week, Doug and Justin figure out which fictional gadget they'd want if they could have one. Justin foolishly picked the Iron Man suit and Doug promptly talked him out of it, likely saving his life in the process. It was a heroic move on Doug's part. The dorks then shift into the main topic of which side characters in film and TV stole the show. The guys talk about Tormund Giantsbane from Game of Thrones, Luis from Ant-Man, Han Solo, Samwise Gamgee, Garth Algar from Wayne's World, and a bunch more. Things are wrapped up with another round of the movie clip guessing game, where Doug plays clips from different movies and Justin does his best to guess which films they're from. The Ghosts of Harrenhal: A Song of Ice and Fire Podcast (ASOIAF)
Jon Snow has a busy day. He discovers that the wildling host contains giants, and lots of them. He and Tormund discuss the pros and cons of Jon bedding Yigrette. Jon gets attacked by an eagle. Finally, he gets called out on his lie about how many of the Night's Watch were north of the Wall. His day seems to be heading toward wrapping up with a tryst with Yigrette. Simon and Mackelly flip on the Do Not Disturb sign.Chapter Review:Jon Snow and Tormund Giantsbane watch a procession of giants mounted on wooly mammoths ride by. After that, the pair make their way toward the front of the host. On the way, Jon tries in vain to explain to Tormund why he hasn't touched Yigrette, despite her clear advances. The idea of a bastard child being an unwanted result of Jon bedding Yigrette is beyond Tormund's comprehension. They catch up with Yigrette. She and some of the other wildlings treat Jon to a rousing rendition of “The Last of the Giants.” After the song fades, Jon is attacked by an eagle that gouges his face with its talons. The eagle heralds the arrival of Rattleshirt, who announces that he's to take Jon to Mance Rayder.Yigrette accompanies Jon to the top of the First of the First Men, where Mance waits. Along the way, they discover the bodies of dead horses strewn about the slope of the hill. Mance wants Jon to tell him true how many Black Brothers there were and who led them. Jon hesitates but does as commanded. Three hundred men, led by Jeor Mormont. Mance thinks their war is won, if they get to the Wall before Mormont does. But there's still the matter of Jon's lying. Yigrette announces that she and Jon have been intimate under Jon's new cloak. Mance decides to send the love birds along with Jarl and Styr over the Wall. Yigrette tells Jon that doing is better than saying, so Jon needs to find another place for Ghost to sleep tonight.Characters/Places/Names/Events:Jon Snow - Bastard son of Ned Stark. Member of the Night's Watch. Acting as a traitor to spy on the wildlings.Mance Rayder - King Beyond the Wall. A former brother of the Night's Watch who defected and is now treated as a leader by the wildlings.Ghost - Jon's direwolf and constant companion.Qhorin Halfhand - Killed by Jon as part of the ruse to prove his bona fides to the wildlings.Ygritte - Wildling girl who has taken a shine to Jon.Tormund - Lieutenant of Mance.Fist of the First Men - Large hill that sticks out above the trees north of the Wall.Support the podcast. We're back with another episode of Talkin' Thrones and things are heating up fast! This episode, titled "Eastwatch" really gets the ball rolling with getting the audiences prepared for the final war to come, with all the characters taking recent developments into consideration as the war with the dead approaches. Daenerys attempts to give fair judgement to the soldiers she spared after the loot train attack, but executes the Tarlys when they defy her. Jaime makes it back to King's Landing to warn Cersei, only to discover that she is steadfast in her resistance. But timing is everything, with the Night King getting closer and closer to the Wall, Jon & Tyrion come up with probably the most ludicrous plan in the history of the entire show's run: to somehow go north of the wall and bring an undead soldier south to prove to Cersei the existance of the army of the dead and get her to temporarily ally with them so they can fight the forces of the dead together. After Tyrion is able to successfully get a message to his siblings about the temporary cease fire and Davos retrieves Gendry from Flea Bottom, Jon heads to Eastwatch with his band of merry men to carry out this fool's errand, with the members of his team including a recently healed Jorah, Gendry, Tormund Giantsbane, as well as the Hound, Beric Dondarrion & Thoros of Myr. Elsewhere, Sam decides to leave the Citadel after realizing they're going to be no help, but not before Gilly discovers a crucial piece of information related to Jon's heritage. Sansa is also warned by Arya not to trust anyone that speaks out against Jon, only for her to fall for one of Littlefinger's schemes. It's another jam packed, action packed episode of #talkinthrones --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/talkintvpodcastgmailcom/support
You could have smacked Nat & Stu over the head with a raven feather when they heard the news that HBO is developing a potential Jon Snow-focused Game of Thrones spin-off series. Of course, this required an emergency podcast to chat about the (virtually non-existent)details of the proposed show, the possibility of abs, and of course, the need for more Tormund Giantsbane. They also spiral off (surprise) into some other geeky territory including Doctor Who and James Bond. Enjoy!

Game of Thrones S8 Ep5 The final season of “Game of Thrones” keeps reminding me of a certain Magnetic Fields lyric: “There’s an hour of sunshine for a million years of rain, but somehow that always seems to be enough.” Recently, on our beloved breastplates-and-dragons program, the sunshine is narrative satisfaction, the rain is enraged disbelief, and the proportions feel off. For every minute of Arya stabbing the Night King, or of Tormund Giantsbane sloshing his wine horn around the Merriment Hall, we have a million years of exquisitely wrought character arcs being shattered into ice cubes and forgotten about, recently deflowered and sobbing in a courtyard, unceremoniously flambéd on the shores of Dragonstone, or vanquished by falling rubble. By the end of last night’s episode, the penultimate of the series, we managed to stagger out of that rubble, and might have hoped to gallop off on a white horse and get the hell outta there. On this week’s episode we’re joined by Jax’s bff, Meagan, holding down the fort until Jason returns. We discuss The Silence, aka the off-brand version of A Quiet Place. Then the ladies dive deep into Avengers: Endgame and examine the confusing feelings elicited by Tom Holland’s childish face and full-on man abs. Of course, Game of Thrones, season 8, episode 4 is dissected, deliberated, and probably predicted relatively inaccurately.Other viewings include Dead to Me, Spider-Man Far From Home, and Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile.
Are you worried about your money in the market? You're in luck. Kevin and Andrew have the system for you to double, triple, or maybe even quadruple your money by betting on Game of Thrones. It's not gambling. It's an investment. With two episodes remaining, join the fellas as they break down the endgame and about how Tormund Giantsbane is pretty much like Ethan Embry in 1998.
Spesialpodkast! Vi lokket med geitemelk og fikk endelig tatt en god times prat med sjølvaste Kristofer Hivju, aka Tormund Giantsbane.
If you've heard of haiku, you've probably heard about the rule of 5-7-5: the numbers of syllables that are "supposed" to be in each line of the poem. Connor and Jack go after the 5-7-5 rule the way Tormund Giantsbane went after the knighting conventions of Westeros in Game of Thrones. For more on haiku, syllables, and Ser Brienne of Tarth, check this episode out! The Face You Make When Everyone's Going to Die ... Episode 2, of the final season of Game of Thrones, was a setup. They had us all warm and fuzzy at the sight of the very alpha male pissing contest between Tormund GiantsBane and Jamie the KingSlayer. Both vying for the heart of Ser Brienne of Tarth. Arya stressed us all out as she wantonly had her way with Gendry. Tyrion gathered the troops for a sing-song. Theon stepped up. Ghost returned. Sansa and Daeny played nice for about 5 seconds and Cersei was nowhere to be seen… Then … the horn of death. TBB & friends Steph and Sade from Everyday Fro Day break down the pending doom.
It sure seems like the crypt is the safest place in Winterfell. Anyone want to check it out? But wait ... considering these folks are about to fight, you know, AN ARMY OF THE UNDEAD, perhaps taking refuge in a crypt of their enemy's potential allies is a bad idea? To answer just this type of pressing question, Nerdette has once again joined up with our pal Peter Sagal to recap the latest episode of Season 8 of Game of Thrones, titled “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.”Tricia, Greta and Peter consider that thorny revelation in Jon and Dany's relationship, new insights into the Night King's (possibly benevolent?) motivations and Tormund Giantsbane's ridiculous origin story. We're back for another edition of Seven Minutes in Westeros, our podcast dedicated to the final season of Game of Thrones. We promise it's faster paced that the first two episodes this season. “A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms” was another episode heavy on character development and emotion while being light on action. Deputy metro editor Joe Thomas joins me again this week to recap the episode. Our biggest takeaway of the week that now we know the Night King's purpose. That is to kill Bran Stark, the Three-Eyed Raven, and wipe out the history of Westeros. While we still haven't seen the Night King this season, we now have an understanding of his motivations. We also saw the knighting of Brienne of Tarth by Jaime Lannister after a fireside chat with some of the show's most beloved characters (including numerous scene stealers from Tormund Giantsbane). On the show we also touch on the Arya/Gendry relationship, Jon Snow revealing the truth to Daenerys Targaryen and more.

Ep. 263: Asking Us Everything Part 2 In this episode, Stacy and Sarah respond to your Ask-Me-Anything style questions! Click here to listen in iTunes If you enjoy the show, please review it in iTunes! The Paleo View (TPV), Episode 263: Asking Us Everything Part 2 Intro (0:00) News and Views (0:41) We're back for more AMA! We think this is a lot of fun. Paleo Principles update: We're at 688 pages. It's WAY TOO MANY! How did you write such a long book? No one knows. Maybe we'll do a workout video with it. Meanwhile, Stacy's kids are going to three different schools and one of them took the bus to middle school at 6:30! It's been exhausting! More AMA questions! Fun questions we love and haven't been asked before! Are either of you superstitious? (8:21) Stacy believes that people can find themselves in advantageous or disadvantageous situations, but there's not some force in the world that notices when you follow superstitions Sarah does do some superstitions out of habit, but doesn't think she actually believes that they have power. Sarah does say she believes in karma and also believes that people are meant to do things, but also believes in the chaos and randomness in the universe. There is some cognitive dissonance there. Stacy doesn't know why she does some superstitions, and catches herself doing them despite not really believing in them. They're fun for kids too. Which character from The Walking Dead do you most identify with? (12:36) Stacy definitely identifies with Maggie because she's kind and a leader who is into family. Sarah doesn't watch the show. Stacy modifies it to which character from Game of Thrones do you identify with? (13:03) Stacy identifies with Sansa and Dany Sarah took an online test that said she was a Robb Stark because of her leadership and strong moral compass. But Sarah also really loves Dany for similar reasons. Sarah also identifies with Samwell Tarly because she too would be in the back as a craven. Stacy and Matt love Tormund Giantsbane and Samwell Tarly as well. If you had to live in a house with other bloggers for a reality TV show, who would you choose? (16:18) Number one for both is Russ Crandall, The Domestic Man. Stacy also mentions Bill and Hayley from Primal Palate, Stacy wonders what kind of show this is? Are we casting for a competition? Because we're not naming our bad guys! Really, check out who we tag all the time on social media Stacy: RealFoodLiz Liz Wolfe, That Paleo Couple, and A Tribe Beyond Blessed, Kaitlyn from Grassfed Girl Sarah: Mickey and Angie from Autoimmune Wellness, Charissa Talbot from No Cook Paleo, Kirsten Peterson from Vibrant Life Army Wife, and Denise Minger. Check out our Live from Paleo FX House show for more! Is once a week for dessert too much? (19:48) Sarah: it depends. Is it going to satisfy you so you won't crave it anymore or will it just trigger more cravings? Stacy and Sarah both tend to be "fall off the wagon" types. In that case, maybe best to avoid it. What is your most hated activity in Strongman or Crossfit? Stacy: Running. It's why I started Strongman. Sarah: Weighted lunges or running with a weight. Stacy loved the feeling of being too sore to do normal activities. She always said "Bring it on!" What is the most often cooked meal in your house? (26:06) Stacy: Meatloaf and Chicken thighs. Sarah: roast chicken or liver burgers. Is there anyone in the paleo world you still get nervous talking to? (26:30) Stacy: No, not in the paleo world Sarah got giggly when talking to Mark (Definitely go back and listen to that one!) Sarah gets excited when people know who she is. Like Art Devany and Dr. David Perlmutter Stacy has learned that people are just people and are just like everyone else. Stacy says only a few people would intimidate her or make her squee. One of them is a baby sloth. Kristen Bell's sloth spatula is on backorder, but it is here. How tall are you? (33:23) Stacy: 5'7". People always think she's taller though. Sarah is 5'5 3/4", but she always says she's 5'6". Can you do a foreign accent? (36:33) Stacy: It would be terrible. However, Stacy and her stepsister would go to the beach and pretend to be French with the names "Ginger Bread" and "Carry-on Bag". Sarah: I do bad American versions of foreign accents and uses them to play with her kids. Which is your favorite of your books (38:54) That's like asking which is your favorite kid! They're all our favorites But if pressed, Stacy likes Real Life Paleo because it's how we really eat, but Matt likes Beyond Bacon because its a more sophisticated foodie book. Sarah: I really like my new one, Paleo Principles. It's like my previous books put together and made better! Rate and review us. Goodbye! Hey, it’s Gendry! Gendry’s back, everybody! Remember Gendry? He’s back! Okay, that’s probably something that’s going to pay off farther down the line. We also got to see Tyrion have a secret meeting with his brother Jaime, and they haven’t talked in a long time. And Jon Snow gathered up all the tough guys he could find and took them up north so he could grab Tormund Giantsbane and the surviving members of the Brotherhood of Fire and go marching north to kidnap a wight to show to Cersei Lannister. That’s the plan, anyway, but it’s probably going to break down into a bunch of fighting and screaming. The important part is that they looked real cool walking north from the Wall. Arya and Sansa are back to arguing with each other, but they’re doing it in an adult way, and it’s about whether they should be cutting people’s heads off. Arya is on the pro-decapitation side. Host Monty Ashley with Kelly Guimont.
