From a Montenegrin perspective, EU integration is not merely a technical process, but a strategic and value-driven choice that reaffirms Montenegro's European identity and its role as a regional leader on the path towards full membership. Speaker bio: Dr Filip Ivanović is the Deputy Prime Minister for Foreign and European Affairs of Montenegro, a position he has held since July 2024. Prior to this post, he was Minister of Foreign Affairs. From May 2022 to August 2023, Dr Ivanović served as member of the Governing Board of the University of Montenegro. From 2018 to 2021, he was member of the Working Group for the Negotiations on Accession of Montenegro to the EU for Chapter 25 ‘Science and Research'. Deputy Prime Minister Ivanović has a distinguished academic career and was a research/teaching fellow at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, the University of Leuven, the Van Leer Institute in Jerusalem, and the University of Donja Gorica. In February 2020, Dr Ivanović was a visiting professor at the University of North Bengal and in April 2022, he was appointed assistant research professor at the Institute of Advanced Studies of the University of Montenegro. Since 2021, he has also been a visiting scholar at the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in History of Ideas (CRISI) at the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University in Milan. Deputy Prime Minister Ivanović is also an expert evaluator of the European Commission, expert of the Agency for Control and Quality Assurance of Higher Education of Montenegro, member of the College of Research Associates of the European Science Foundation, a fellow of the Young Academy of Europe and the Royal Historical Society, and member of the Committee for Philosophy and Sociology of the Montenegrin Academy of Sciences and Arts. He holds BA and MA degrees from the University of Bologna and a PhD from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim. He also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Diplomatic Practice from the United Nations Institute for Training and Research.

Hvordan kan vi som foreldre snakke om kropp, mat og fysisk aktivitet uten å legge press på barna? Kroppsbilde formes tidlig, og måten vi voksne snakker om oss selv og andre, har stor betydning for hvordan barn opplever egen kropp. Denne episoden er laget i samarbeid med ROS (Rådgivning om spiseforstyrrelser). Vi møter Marianne Håheim, fagansvarlig i ROS, og Trine Tetlie Eik-Nes, førsteamanuensis ved NTNU i Trondheim med en PhD i samfunnsmedisin. Sammen deler de kunnskap og erfaringer om hvordan vi kan støtte barns utvikling av et balansert forhold til kropp, mat og fysisk aktivitet. I norsk krigshistorie er det få navn som står så sterkt som Birger Eriksen – obersten som senket Blücher den 9. april 1940. Senkingen ved Oscarsborg festning stoppet invasjonsstyrken, og ga regjeringen, kongefamilien og Stortinget tid til å flykte. Det var en avgjørelse som endret alt.Men historien om Birger Eriksen får en ekstra dimensjon når den blir fortalt av William Hakvaag, museumsmannen fra Lofoten. For selv om Eriksen ble født i Trondheim, vokste han opp nettopp i Lofoten – i samme landskap som Hakvaag selv har brukt livet sitt på å formidle krigshistorien fra.Det var en lofotværing som tok den skjebnesvangre beslutningen. En mann formet av kystens råskap, av samfunnet som alltid har levd med både naturens og historiens stormer. Kanskje var det nettopp den bakgrunnen som gjorde ham i stand til å handle resolutt da øyeblikket kom.Som Hakvaag minner oss på: Da Birger Eriksen sa «enten blir jeg stilt for retten, eller så blir jeg stående som en helt», var det med nordnorsk tyngde og handlekraft i stemmen.Og i ettertid vet vi hva svaret ble: Han ble stående som en helt – en lofotværing som skrev seg inn i verdenshistorien. Martin Hassellöv and Bjorn Bertoft, on board Hrimfare and the Sailing4Science project, aim to do good while sailing with scientists. The Hrimfare is transformed from a round-the-world sailing boat into a sailing laboratory for scientists, while also promoting citizen scientists. Performance used with permission from the Scheen Jazzorkester The Scheen Jazzorkester was founded in 2010 and has evolved into the the regional Jazz Orchestra of the Southern Jazz Center in Norway. It has succeeded in becoming a major force in Norwegian progressive composer-based ensembles along with similar units in Oslo, Bergen and Trondheim, and has released eight critically acclaimed albums. The group tours regularly, and for this performance you'll hear, among other pieces, a commissioned piece by the great Norwegian saxophonist and composer, André Roligheten. He is known in Europe especially for his contributions in Gard Nilssen Acoustic Unity, Friends and Neighbors, Susanne Sundfør as well as his own quartet. We have to thank, among others, the Cultural Fund of Norway, Music Norway, Sørnorsk Jazz Centre, Telemark County and Northeast Ohio's own New Ghosts for their support of this performance. Christian Skaug kunne søndag fortelle at biskop av Trondheim, Erik Varden, er en høyt verdsatt intellektuell blant konservative katolikker i særlig Italia. Dette går den hjemlige huslyd hus forbi. Den er blitt så alminnelig og flat at den ikke lenger får med seg at "landskapet" er i endring. Derfor er det en inspinn rasjon å høre at en biskop fra det nordenfjeldske kan forelese på italiensk. Til tross for en woke-påvirket pave har kirken bevart sansen for talent. Det bidrar det katolske hierarkiet og tradisjonen til.Her har Den norske kirke gått glipp av mye. Hvis noe er borte er det ikke lett å rekonstruere det. I Norge er mye etterhvert borte. Sporløst.Men unge mennesker strømmer til kirken, og det skjer over hele Europa, nettopp fordi de savner tradisjon og mening.Mangel på mening kan få noen til å dreie i ekstrem retning. Det gjorde tysk-serberen som drepte Tamima på Kampen. Byrådsleder Erik Lae Solberg manet til tilbakeholdenhet, men da det ble kjent at gutten hadde høyreekstreme meninger var den advarselen som blåst bort.Espen Teigen har fulgt saken for Document.

Etter å ha slappet av i en måneds tid ble vi enige om at det var på høy tid å snakke litt Rosenborg igjen. Vi løper gjennom kampene siden sist, med mest fokus på det brutale tapet mot KFUM, vi snakker kvalifisering til ECL, og vi er selvfølgelig innom overgangsvinduet der noe har skjedd allerede og mer er på vei. A pioneering Saudi athlete who defied expectations by qualifying to represent Saudi Arabia in cross-country skiing at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan, becoming the first Saudi male skier to do so.  Since his international skiing debut in 2021, he has competed in multiple FIS Nordic World Ski Championships, including Planica 2023 and Trondheim 2025.Despite training in a city with no snow, Rakan's daily regimen built on running, swimming, cycling, and hill climbs, reflects a relentless commitment to excellence that has propelled him from the desert to the world stage. Away from the snow, Rakan is also a decorated rower, inspired by his cousin Hussein Alireza, who competed at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. He is a multiple-time GCC indoor rowing champion and a national champion at the Saudi Games who has represented Saudi Arabia at the 2022 Asian Games in single sculls.

Alexa Brabec grew up in Steamboat Springs, CO where she trained with the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club. In 2020, she qualified for the US National Team for the first time. After graduating high school, Alexa moved to Lillehammer, Norway to train with the Norwegian Team as a part of a partnership between the US and Norwegian Teams. NTNU professor Marit Otterlei nearly threw out the contaminated cell culture where she and her colleagues were testing a new cancer drug.The problem arose on a hot summer day, in Trondheim, in a country not known for hot summer days. So they'd opened the lab's windows overnight.When they came back the next day, they found an uninvited guest, snuggled in with their cancer cell culture: Bacteria!!!Here's the thing, though: although the drug had been designed to work on human cancer cells, it looked like it had killed the bacteria, too!That was remarkable, because the cancer drug targeted a specific mechanism that human cells use to replicate. It looked like the drug also targeted the same mechanism in bacteria -- even though the tree of life had branched away from bacteria 3 BILLION years ago! How could that be?Today's podcast takes a peek into the challenging world of what it takes to bring a drug, especially an antibiotic, to market. But it's also an inside look into how some researchers, with their deep curiosity about the nuts and bolts of how life actually works, can come up with startling discoveries that may someday save our lives. Sven Erik Renaa is the chef and owner of restaurant Renaa in Stavanger, Norway. He was born in Trondheim and developed a passion for cooking from a young age. After completing his culinary education, Renaa started his career working in some of Norway's top restaurants. In 2000, he worked with acclaimed chef Eyvind Hellstrøm at Oslo's Bagatelle restaurant, and in 2009, he opened his own restaurant, RE-NAA, in Stavanger, which earned one Michelin star in 2016, a second star in 2020 and a third in 2024. The explosion of embedding-based applications created a new challenge: efficiently storing, indexing, and searching these high-dimensional vectors at scale. This gap gave rise to the vector database category, with companies like Pinecone leading the charge in 2022-2023 by defining specialized infrastructure for vector operations. The category saw explosive growth following ChatGPT's launch in late 2022, as developers rushed to build AI applications using Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG). This surge was partly driven by a widespread misconception that embedding-based similarity search was the only viable method for retrieving context for LLMs!!! Nun mag Laura Grandy in dessen Verlauf nicht, wie einst als Fünfjährige erträumt, "ein(e) Komponist(in) wie ihr Idol Frédéric Chopin" geworden sein. Stattdessen aber, und das ist vielleicht sogar noch besser, ist sie heute eine Singer-Songwriterin wie, nun ja: wie Laura Grandy eben. Anders ausgedrückt: Sie hat ihre ganz eigene, besondere musikalische Stimme gefunden. Als überzeugender Beleg dafür dient ihr im November 2024 nach einigen Singles veröffentlichtes Debütalbum "All These Feelings", auf dem sie – ganz dem Titel entsprechend – eine große Bandbreite an Gefühlen in liebevoll arrangierte Pop-Songs übersetzt. Mal selbstbewusst-beschwingt, mal melancholisch-getragen, mal irgendwo dazwischen; meist mit einer jazzigen Note veredelt und stets von Lauras seelenvollem Gesang gekrönt. Am 4. Mai wird sie in der Rhinoçéros Bar im Prenzlauer Berg ein Konzert geben, heute besucht sie uns im studioeins, um im Interview und natürlich mit dem ein oder anderen live gespielten Song darauf einzustimmen.
