Ever feel like you're starring in a one-person play called Totally Fine, I Swear? Masking in recovery is real—faking confidence around food, forcing yourself to eat like everyone else, or pretending things aren't harder than they actually are. And for neurodivergent folks, masking isn't just a habit—it's survival. Many autistic and ADHDers learn early on to camouflage their struggles, and that absolutely carries over into eating disorder recovery. In this solo episode, we're getting real about why we mask, how it messes with healing, and what unmasking can actually look like (spoiler: it's not about forcing yourself to “just be authentic” overnight). If you've ever felt like recovery is a performance, let's shake off the script and talk about what's actually going on. Listen to another SOLO episode, in which I talk about my overall eating disorder recovery journey (listen via Apple or Spotify).  CHECK OUT OTHER EPISODES ON NEURODIVERSITY & EATING DISORDERS! Hi, I'm Sarah Thomson, and in this episode, I'm flying solo! I wanted to dive into the idea that starting now is always fine—no matter the time of year. So many of us feel pressure to start fresh in January, but life gets in the way. I'll share my thoughts on how to reset, build momentum, and set goals that actually work for your business and life. Episode Summary: January can feel like a chaotic blur, especially for business owners juggling holidays, family, and the pressure of a ‘new year, new me' mindset. In this episode, I explore why waiting for the perfect moment isn't necessary and how you can start fresh anytime. I share practical ways to regain focus after a slow start, rethink goal-setting to fit real life, and embrace consistency over perfection. Whether you're feeling behind or just need a reset, I'll show you how to create momentum without the stress. Let's ditch the overwhelm and make progress on our terms! Key Takeaways: It's never too late to start fresh—momentum can begin any day. Perfection isn't the goal; small, consistent steps matter more. Customizing your goals to fit your life leads to better success. Overcoming the January slump starts with giving yourself grace. Focus on what you can do rather than what you've missed. Notable Quotes: "The perfect time to start is whenever you decide to. No need to wait for a fresh calendar!" "Small steps build big momentum—don't underestimate the power of just starting." "January isn't a deadline; it's just a month. Your progress is on your timeline." "Forget the pressure to have it all figured out—just take action." "Your goals should fit your life, not the other way around."

Women are making waves in the world of comedy, on both sides of the camera. Jillian Bell (Brittany Runs a Marathon) costars with Natalie Morales (Language Lessons) in the new indie release I'm Totally Fine, which debuts today in theaters, on VOD and digital. The costars form a mutual admiration society but also have praise for their collaborators over the years they've toiled in the TV, movie, and music video arena. Bell is a graduate of The Groundlings in L.A. and Morales has lived here long enough to have seen Buster Keaton films at the venerable Silent Movie Theater on Fairfax Avenue. Those are all the credentials necessary to turn Leonard and Jessie into a rooting section.
