He's here, he's there, he's every-fucking-where...are you, like the rest of the world, a fan of Ted Lasso? If you're not, leave. If you're not because you haven't watched it yet, WATCH IT. We promise, although it is about football (football is after all, life) it is not a sports show. It is show about humanity and it's just NICE. With the finale (possibly the series finale) airing last week, your hosts on Sort of Brilliant decided to sort just about everyone who means anything to AFC Richmond. Ted, Rebecca, Roy, Keeley and Jamie get the most attention, but we also sort Sam, Dani, Higgens, Beard, Nate, Isaac...maybe Colin? I think we sorted Colin. We forgot to sort Trent Crimm, formerly from the Independent, but I'll tell ya right now, that man is a Ravenclaw. ANYWAY. We are a mixed bag of emotions about the finale, but not about these characters, who we love (except Nate, but ignore that). If you want a solid half hour of feel good and our amazed astonishment at the unhinged trio Roy, Keeley and Jamie make, tune in!

About Us On HORSE, we don't analyze wins and losses. We talk beefs (beeves?), dig into Internet drama, and have fun. The NBA is now a 365-day league and it's never been more present in pop culture. From Kevin Durant's burner accounts to LeBron taking his talents anywhere to trusting the Process, the NBA is becoming a pop culture requirement. At the same time, sports can have gatekeepers that make it insular and frustrating for people who aren't die hard fans. We're here to prove that basketball is entertaining to follow for all fans, whether you're actively watching the games or not. Recently featured in The New York Times!

What happens when Trent Crimm returns wanting to write the story of Ted's time in Richmond? What happens when Roy Kent returns to the team and stadium that made him a superstar footballer? What happens when Keeley tries to help someone from her past? What happens when the team discovers that Royley is no more? What will Jamie do with this news? But most importantly of all this week, what will happen when Richmond tries to recruit a superstar footballer with a problematic past? Hello fellow Lasso-holics and WELCOME BACK TO NEW EPISODES OF TED LASSO! Ted and the team are preparing for their first game but more potential distractions are emerging. Trent Crimm has returned to Richmond to write a book about the team throughout the season. This runs afoul of Roy who has a grudge against Trent that threatens to derail the team as they attempt to upset the powerful Chelsea to kick off the year. The team also becomes aware that Roy broke up with Keeley and search for ways to comfort him. In addition, the iconic and prodigious striker Zava has become a free agent and is the target of every club, but most assuredly Rupert and West Ham. Rebecca does not want to allow this to happen and makes a play of her own to lure the prized player to Richmond. Can the team gel together and can Rebecca finally get the upper hand on Rupert to kick off their season? We're here to break it all down! It's the best part of your week, it's Lasso time! Come along with us as we break down Season 3 Episode 2 "(I Don't Want To Go To) Chelsea". Two seasons ago we promised an episode where we recommend romance novels for each of the characters in Ted Lasso. Sarah's brother is holding us to it! This week, we're filling the TBRs of every single member of the Richmond Team…and Trent Crimm, of the Independent. It is a very chaotic journey…but one we hope you'll enjoy. F*ck Cancer. Next week, we're taking a break while Sarah makes Thanksgiving dinner and Jen waits for hers to warm in the oven (definitely the smarter of the two choices). We'll be back on November 30th with our Best of the Year episode — Happy long weekend of sloth and excess to all those who celebrate! Our next read along will be KJ Charles's Band Sinister. We did not fight over which KJ Charles book to read because Sarah is all that is good and gracious in the world and she let Jen win. It is Scorpio season, after all. Get Band Sinister at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Apple Books, Kobo or from your local indie.

This week on Cracked Spines, we are revisiting all our big dreams we had in January and inadvertently have the exact same conversations as we did then. Amelia is riding high on her book list. Sarah is forcibly humbled. And I'll be honest, then we talk about Trent Crimm from Ted Lasso for about ten minutes. No, we don't provided context on who that man is. You just need to know that he's definitely definitely exactly what the two of us have imagined him to be.

“The leader doesn't always need to be in the trenches. But that leader needs to know what it's like being in the trenches. Ted receives the club's full support after the news of his panic attack. He focuses on the season's final match, which would determine Richmond's promotion into the Premier League. Keeley learns Bantr's VC wants to finance her own PR firm. While Keeley celebrates with an overjoyed Rebecca, they discover Rupert has bought West Ham United. Roy forgives Jamie and Nate for sharing their affections with Keeley, but worries she will leave him. At half-time during the match, Nate tries to abandon his false 9 tactic, but the players elect to stick with it. Ted asks Nate why he is upset with him. Nate tearfully responds that Ted continuously neglected him since joining the coaching staff. Dani scores an equalizing penalty to secure Richmond's promotion. The team and supporters celebrate, but Nate walks off dejected. Sam decides to stay at Richmond, to Akufo's chagrin, telling Rebecca he wanted to benefit his own personal journey. Ted runs into Trent Crimm, who was fired as a reporter after revealing his anonymous source. Roy tries to go on holiday with Keeley, but an already overworked Keeley encourages Roy to go himself. Sam leases a storefront to start a Nigerian restaurant. Two months later, Rupert greets the newest member of his West Ham coaching staff: Nate.
Sam scores the first hat-trick of his career. Ghanaian billionaire Edwin Akufo visits Richmond and informs Rebecca that he wants to buy Sam as a player. Akufo elaborates to Sam that he wants to buy Raja Casablanca and sign an ensemble of Africa's most talented players, predicting that an African team will win the FIFA World Cup within 20 years. Sam is given three days to consider the offer, though Rebecca pleads with him not to go. Nate continues to feel the frustration of receiving little credit for developing the team's tactics. While trying on new suits, he impulsively kisses Keeley. During Roy and Keeley's photoshoot for the latter's magazine profile, Keeley admits Nate's kiss and Jamie's confession of love at the funeral, and Roy tells her he spent 3 hours with Phoebe's teacher, leaving both shaken. Ted learns that Sharon left before her last day, and he tracks her down to give her the team's parting gift. Later, Ted receives a text message from Trent Crimm tipping him off about a forthcoming article on Ted's matchday panic attack, and that Nate was his anonymous source.

Knowing that tabloid newspaper The Sun has photographs of them, Ted and Keeley go to Rebecca. She has their publication stopped, fearful they will be traced back to her, but in exchange, Ted has to spend the day with Trent Crimm, a tough reporter for The Independent. Crimm arrives skeptical. He finds out Ted's new plays were conceived by Nate, the kit man. When Crimm asks him about the appropriateness of throwing Sam's birthday party after the previous week's loss, Ted tells him he's not concerned with wins and losses. Ted, Crimm, and Roy go to a local school event and win over the children. Roy reluctantly but assertively confronts Jamie and a few other players who have been bullying Nate. Ted invites Crimm to dinner, at a restaurant owned by the driver who picked him up at the airport. Ted, never having had Indian food before, gets very spicy food but eats it all to be polite. Crimm's write-up about the "Lasso Way" is positive, enraging Rebecca.
It's our Not About The Weather 2021 retrospective, and we are going all-in with our biggest pop culture hype and gripe of the year. Ariana, Brittany, Natalie and Karen are all here to decompress. Ted Lasso and Mythic Quest are both heavily featured, with a shout out to Dickinson as well. No, we are not shills for Apple, yes we will become so if ever they want us to be. That platform is creating a lot of great work right now. Ariana takes us through her hype regarding this year's wonderful coming of age portrayals for teenage girls, and Brittany rekindles her long-lost experience with live music. In terms of gripes, we have a powerful and wide ranging slate of things to complain about. Brittany is concerned that America's sweetheart Steve Kornacki is being used and abused as a gimmick (Let Steve Be Steve!) and Karen is disappointed by the Melissa McCarthy movie Thunder Force, which should have been brilliant but just... wasn't. Natalie feels that while the final season of Brooklyn 99 was, in many ways, very meaningful and very conscious, it betrayed Jake Peralta at the close, and Ariana simply feels that the way people engage in fandom just isn't fun any more. As well as our year-end hypes and gripes, the group reflects on their experience of 2021 at work and at home, and assesses whether this year was, at the end of the day, a good or bad one for them personally. Results are mixed. And a great Question of the Day sparks a fantastic discussion about all the performers who shone for us this year like never before. Be sure to stay tuned for the post credits addition. ("Nooooooooowen Wilson.") Our interview with fellow journalist Eric Garcia, author of the brand new book, "We're Not Broken" (available wherever books are sold). Garcia is also the Washington Bureau Chief and Senior Washington Correspondent for The Independent (who recently fired disgraced journalist Trent Crimm for journalistic malpractice). He and Armon Owlia sat down and discussed the book, the state and evolution of autism in both journalism and misinformation, and how far American politics and society still has to go. Much like Roy Kent, this episode contains some strong language, therefore, listener discretion is advised. Like what you hear and want to see more? This week, we take a heavily spoiler filled look into the second season of Ted Lasso. The breakout hit for Apple+ gave us a season filled with all the things we loved about Ted Lasso and it subverted some other things. We have as many questions as Trent Crimm and Patricia Wick joins us to sort out some of our complicated thoughts and feelings coming out of a tumultuous year for Richmond United and their coaching staff. We talk about all the good and bad that happened this season. And Nate. Oh yeah – Nate.

The end of Pass It Down's unannounced hiatus starts off with a bang, as Natalie details Mike's untimely head-bang and its chilling effect on his co-host. After commemorating this year's relatively tame Blocktober, Mike talks about his eight-year NFL Network journey and why that unlikely partnership ended last summer. We discuss his first story for Bally Sports, which broke the news of Houston Texans chair Cal McNair's racially insensitive comments at a charity golf tournament, and some of the other toxic forces at the highest levels of a league striving to drape itself in anti-racist symbolism. From the Dan Snyder investigation to the Jon Gruden emails to the Woody Johnson allegations, we get into all of it. Mike also talks about the importance of being part of a team and gets nostalgic about some of his sweeter moments at NFL Network and Yahoo! Sports. And for you Ted Lasso fans, Mike and Natalie have a few things to say about Trent Crimm of The Independent and why he is a blight on humanity.

Our friend Jon Hyman joins once us to dissect the employment law issues in our favorite show, Ted Lasso! This time through the end of Season 2. SPOILERS ABOUND We discuss Nate's descent into darkness, the fallout of Sam's big choice, Trent Crimm, Independent, and much much more. Most importantly, we discuss mental health in sports and at work. If you or someone you know needs support, here's a list of resources that can help, shamelessly stolen from Jon's LinkedIn page: National Alliance on Mental Health: nami[dot]org; info@nami[dot]org; 800-950-NAMI; or in a crisis, text "NAMI" to 741741 Department of Health & Human Services' Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration: samhsa[dot]gov; 800-662-HELP (4357) National Suicide Prevention Lifeline: suicidepreventionlifeline[dot]org; 800-273-8255 Other than letting employees know about these resources, what else can employers do to help ensure that employees have the support and resources they need now and in the future? I have five suggestions. 1/ Check in with your employees to make sure they are doing okay. 2/ Check the benefits available to your employees, including EAPs and mental health and counseling services. 3/ Revisit paid-time-off policies and consider providing employees the time they need to take care of themselves and their families. 4/ Consider holding town hall or all-employee meetings that focus on mental health awareness. 5/ Small gestures of kindness can go a long way to make employees feel appreciated and alleviate stress. Ted Lasso S2E12 “Inverting the Pyramid of Success” - Episode Recap - Ray Taylor ShowSubscribe: InspiredDisorder.com/rts Binge Ad Free: InspiredDisorder.com/Patreon @TedLassoShow topic: Despite the public fallout from the news of his panic attack, Ted receives the full support of Rebecca and the team. He focuses his attention on the season's final match, which would determine Richmond's promotion back into the Premier League. Keeley is informed the VC that supported Bantr want to finance a PR firm for her to operate. While Keeley celebrates the news with an overjoyed Rebecca, they learn Rupert has bought West Ham United. Roy forgives Jamie and Nate for showing their affections towards Keeley, but tells the Diamond Dogs he is worried she will no longer need him. During the match, Richmond are down 2–0 at half-time. Nate tries to abandon the false 9 tactic he implemented, but the players decide to stick with it. Ted asks Nate why he is upset with him, to which Nate tearfully responds that Ted continuously neglected him since joining the coaching staff. He believes the team will lose and that Ted would have been fired long ago if it weren't for him. In the final minute, Dani scores an equalizing penalty to secure Richmond's promotion. The team and supporters celebrate, but Nate walks off dejected. Sam decides to stay at Richmond, which Akufo does not take kindly. Through Ted, Sam tells Rebecca he made his decision not because of her, but rather to benefit his own personal journey. Ted runs into Trent Crimm, who says he no longer works at The Independent because his superiors found out he revealed an anonymous source. Roy tries to take Keeley on holiday, but an already overworked Keeley encourages Roy to go himself. Sam is seen leasing a building, which he will use to start a Nigerian restaurant. Two months later, at West Ham's training session, Rupert greets the newest member of his coaching staff: Nate.Sponsored By:Patreon.com/InspiredDisorder $3 membership.*Binge full week of Ray Taylor Show (audio+Video)*Massive discount code for The Many Faces*Download raw photoshop filesInspiredDisorder.com/tmf The Many Faces - Original abstract ink portraits by Ray Taylor. On this week's entertainment-themed Round 2, the third episode of Ted Lasso's first season, "Trent Crimm: The Independent," brought us more Roy Kent and more Keeley, along with two-tone hair reporter Trent Crimm--who of course thwarted Rebecca's attempt to make Ted look bad. It's not happening, honey! Next week: "For the Children."Only Murders in the Building asked "How Well Do You Know Your Neighbors?" in its third episode. Not only did we learn more (probably too much more) about Cat Dad Howard, we also met Nathan Lane and Amy Ryan, along with Sting playing himself, or possibly a crankier version of himself--and one and all living in the Arconia. Mentioned: "Where to Shop Selena Gomez's Bright and Stylish Outfits from Only Murders in the Building" at Elle.com [https://www.elle.com/culture/movies-tv/a37432118/selena-gomez-fashion-only-murders-in-the-building/]. Ted Lasso S2E11 “Midnight Train to Royston” - Episode Recap - Ray Taylor ShowSubscribe: InspiredDisorder.com/rts Binge Ad Free: InspiredDisorder.com/Patreon @TedLassoShow topic: Sam scores the first hat-trick of his career. Ghanaian billionaire and football enthusiast Edwin Akufo visits Richmond and informs Rebecca that he wants to buy an African club and sign Sam as a player. Akufo elaborates on his vision during lunch with Sam, explaining that he wants to buy Raja Casablanca and sign an ensemble of Africa's most talented players, hoping to making it one of the biggest clubs in the world, and predicting that an African team will win the FIFA World Cup within 20 years. Sam is given three days to consider the offer, though Rebecca pleads with him not to go. Nate continues to feel the frustration of developing the team's tactics while receiving none of the credit. Keeley agrees to help him buy a new suit; while trying on outfits, Nate impulsively kisses Keeley, confusing her. During Roy and Keeley's photoshoot for the latter's magazine profile, Keeley admits both Nate's kiss and Jamie's confession of his feelings for her at the funeral, the latter of which leaves Roy shaken. Ted learns from Higgins that Sharon left early on her last day and wrote letters for everyone on the team. Angered that she left without saying goodbye, Ted tracks down Sharon to give her the team's parting gift, and the two go out for drinks. Upon returning home, Ted receives a text message from Trent Crimm tipping him off about a forthcoming article on Ted's panic attack on the pitch, and reveals Nate was the anonymous source.Sponsored By:Patreon.com/InspiredDisorder $3 membership.*Binge full week of Ray Taylor Show (audio+Video)*Massive discount code for The Many Faces*Download raw photoshop filesInspiredDisorder.com/tmf The Many Faces - Original abstract ink portraits by Ray Taylor. Dr. Fieldstone says an epistolary goodbye. Nate goes over to the dark side. Sam is courted by a billionaire. Roy and Keeley get honest. Trent Crimm gets a scoop. It's a big setup for the season finale, and we wonder: could that actually have been Banksy?

We arrive at the premiere in stoppage time of the 8th game of the season only to see Dani Rojas kill a dog with a PK. No, that is not a misprint, Dani Rojas killed a dog with a PK, getting the yips in the process. The dog dying was not even the most cringe worthy thing that happened in this episode - that belongs to the press pool stealing Trent Crimm's line! In addition to saying goodbye to Earl, the Brothers discuss the flurry of activity going on in the episode and all that seems to have happened since we last saw the characters: - Roy is MIA after a seemingly epic retirement presser, coaching Phoebe's U9 girls team. - Rebecca is dating - dude is nothing like Rupert, but still a knob. - Nate has turned heel! - The Lasso Way no longer seems to be working! - New characters galore! Ted Lasso on calling out epically bad ideas: “I shouldn't bring an umbrella to a brainstorm.”
Julian and Tom of Team Binge break down Season 1, Episode 3 of Ted Lasso. Ted starts to win Roy Kent and takes Trent Crimm of the Independent on a "Day in the Life." What is Coach Beard losing sleep over? What are the greatest trick plays of all time? Good Clean Fun.

Ted Lasso S1E3 “Trent Crimm: The Independent” - Ray Taylor ShowSubscribe: InspiredDisorder.com/rts Binge Ad Free: InspiredDisorder.com/Patreon Show topic: Knowing that tabloid newspaper The Sun has photographs of them, Ted and Keeley go to Rebecca. She has their publication stopped, fearful they will be traced back to her, but in exchange Ted has to spend the day with Trent Crimm, a tough reporter for The Independent. Crimm arrives skeptical. He finds out Ted's new play were conceived by Nate, the kit man. When Crimm asks him about the appropriateness of throwing Sam's birthday party after the previous week's loss, Ted tells him he's not concerned with wins and losses. Ted, Crimm, and Roy go to a local school event and win over the children. Roy reluctantly confronts Jamie and a few other players who have been bullying Nate. Ted invites Crimm to dinner, at a restaurant owned by the driver who picked him up at the airport. Ted, never having had Indian food before, gets very spicy food but eats it all to be polite. The Lasso Brothers recap episode 6 of Ted Lasso and have no doubt that it is the best episode thus far! Trent Crimm, it was a good run, but you have been relegated to the second spot. Two Aces better not get too comfortable at the top though - there is some stiff competition headed your way. Ted and Jamie have a conversation about practice. Not a game. Practice. The Lasso Brothers love the way Ted flips the script on the idea of practice - removing the typical monotony and replacing it with the idea of it being the only time where the team gets to play together and control the environment. Not to mention, it feels REALLY good to see Jamie put in his place . . . seriously, it felt really good to watch this. Ted also delivers another materstroke in coming up with a plan to unite the team and reverse the curse of the AFC Richmond treatment room - even the former sexy little baby Jamie shows up to assist in reversing the curse! Unfortunately, however, not all is well in Lasso Land when he finds out that Jamie has been recalled by Manchester City . . . I mean, come on, they had TWO ACES - you all saw it! The Brothers last and most important thought on this episode: Dani Rojas! Ted Lasso on having a backup plan: “My plan is for my plan to work.”
The Lasso Brothers recap episode 5 of Ted Lasso and while they both fell in love with this episode, they agree that it did not have enough to supplant Trent Crimm in the Royal Rumble style rankings. Ted rides the emotional rollercoaster of seeing his wife and kid and coming to terms with the demise of his marriage. The Lasso Brothers agree that we do not know his wife enough to care much about her, but that does not give her a pass or make her any more likable - I mean, who in their right mind kicks Ted Lasso to the curb?!?!?! Despite the overwhelming emotion, Ted guides AFC Richmond to its first win since taking over the reins, winning over Roy and the fans in the process (at least for now). “Wanker” now has a new meaning at the dog track! Ted Lasso on taking bold actions: “That's all we got is balls, Roy. It's all we got.”
The Lasso Brothers recap episode 4 of Ted Lasso and agree that it didn't have enough to replace Trent Crimm atop the rankings in the episode Royal Rumble. The Brothers did enjoy this episode immensely, however, and the depth that it begins to show us on a number of characters (and the lack of depth of a few characters - you know who you are). We finally meet Rupert! And, wow, he is terrible - much more terrible than I could have imagined. Could he possibly be the father of none other than Jamie Tartt? The Brothers say there is a chance. Until they receive irrefutable evidence to the contrary, that is the story they are going with (any future references or depictions of fathers do not count unless accompanied with a birth certificate). Despite seemingly being able to pull the wool over everyone else's eyes, Ted has Rupert's number and is able to see him for who he really is - a rich good for nothing prick that has abused Rebecca for quite a while! This development heartens Rebecca and begins to seriously expose the cracks in Rebecca's plan to use Ted in destroying the club! Ted Lasso on growing older: “Don't let the wisdom of age be wasted on you.”
The Lasso Brothers recap episode 3 of Ted Lasso and place it atop the rankings in the episode Royal Rumble. Speaking of Royal Rumbles, Neal jumps off the top rope in the episode and, despite agreeing with him in episode 1, attacks Matt for his dislike of tea! To settle the debate we asked the listeners and 67% agreed with Neal and “Team Tea.” The other 33% are correct and agree with Matt and Coach Lasso that tea is absolute garbage water. (Also, nice try Neal, but iced tea and sweet tea were never in this debate - stop trying to move the goal!) The Brothers also discuss appreciation for Coach Lasso's penchant for lifting those around him and his ability to respond with positivity at almost every turn.
