No, I'm not dead. YAAAS BRO is not dead. Daddy has just been a little too busy, that's all… In this episode we welcome host of podcast "We're Big Kids Now", Joe Alexander. We talk about a few things that we enjoyed during our childhood but came to realize as adults that they actually suck, like Disney and Free Willy. We also talk about coming out, the ever changing rainbow flag, being a self-loathing gay, making friends in the gay scene, how people revolve their personalities around ONE interest (ew), and so much more. Buckle up kids, this episode is loaded. Big thanks to Mr. Joe Alexander for being so patient with the release of this episode and all of YOU beautiful, dedicated listeners for sticking around, checking in on the podcast and of course, donating. Love y'all

We haven't had a chaotic episode in a HOT MINUTE, so prepare yourself for this zesty, latin, fanfare of homosexual nonsense where two separate podcasts COLLIDE. I had the pleasure of being a guest on BUT LIKE STOP - hosted by Miami’s King of Pop, Robbie Elias and Gay Personality, Jonathan Casanas, where we discussed "Super Trendy Topics" including Lil N as X's "Montero (Call Me By Your Name)" music video controversy, vaccine passports and Britney Spears finally reacting to the Hulu documentary. The train-wreck continues as the hosts dive into a plethora of topics including, "caca stories", "Quien Necesita Un Despojo" and more... Brace yourselves for this wild ride! We're back! Well, sort of. It's Black History Month, so we're bringing you this special bonus episode celebrating one of the MANY African American food legends, Zephyr Wright. Zephyr was chef to Lyndon and Lady Bird Johnson for over 25 years, including in the White House. She was known for her exquisite Southern cuisine, most famously her Texas Red Chili, or Pedernales River Chili. But in addition to her contributions to food, her unique access to the Johnsons gave her the opportunity to champion civil rights in a direct and personal way, and she might even be the person who convinced LBJ to sign the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Plus, Lia gives us a little history of chili in Texas and the Chili Queens of San Antonio who put it on the map. For more great content about the stories & foods we talk about on the show (plus a peek BTS) connect with us at @FoodDayPod on Instagram & Twitter, join our Facebook Group & check out our webpage. Welcome to the Big Melt! I’m constantly wondering if we’re already out of time. I’m not alone here? Am I? AM I?! The air is poisoned, the ice caps are melting, the forests are on fire, the oceans are plastic soup, every moment of every day another creature goes extinct and all of it, all of it, was preventable. And the reasons why people decided not to prevent it? Totally sus... I’m Sarah by the way… Some adults say “it’s the scientists who are lying” … but people who say global warming is a hoax often use climate data out of context or select just a tiny piece of it that supports their point of view. They waste so much news time hyping each other up with facts that are legit not even close to accurate. And basics aren’t hard to grasp; pollution = bad, reducing emissions = good! But sometimes it’s really difficult to get a handle on just how far gone the climate crisis is, and how much time we have left to fix it. Especially when there are crowds of people REFUSING to believe that climate change is A THING! Which ~spoiler alert~ IT SO IS!!! This episode features an interview with Simon Donner, Professor of Climatology at the University of British Columbia. He studies how climate and climate change affects society and the environment. Ideal person to get us started with the basics! YAAAS!! For more info and a chance to win a custom “The Big Melt” T-shirt, visit www.bigmeltpodcast.com or the shownotes for this episode.

This week on the pod we’ve got Avi (they/them) LatinX Trans, non-binary, Queer artist and actor, a bit of a foodie, a fan of craft beer, loves a dance party, and currently searching for a hobby. We have so much fun today starting off with a little bit of good news! Some dope parents in Maryland through their child a Gayceañera! YAAAS! We debate the rainbow pride flag, and the commercialization of it. We both DEVOURED the Morning Show: It was amazing! It brought up some deep stuff for both of us around sexual assault, masculinity, sexism, and more. Though James was a bit distracted by someones wig. James saw Moulin Rouge on Broadway and may have been disappointed, representation matters even in your understudies. It's voting time- for SAG that is- and we both... forgot to vote! But it shows how political and bullshit awards really are. When we jump into the Korners it is finally here: my 10 Tips for Healing Loss and a Broken Heart, we all experience loss in different ways and these 10 tips and tools can be used to heal as your heart reopens from whatever hurt you may have experienced. Avi takes us through a quote that has them thinking about a lot of things, which leads us into a beautiful conversation where Avi talks about their transition to becoming their full self, their journey to be being seen clearly for who they are. My guest today has tried on more healthy habits than Alessandra Ambrosio has tried on Victoria’s Secret Bras! Well, that’s not a fact-checked fact so don’t quote me on that, but Phoebe Lapine had certainly tried on her fair share of healthy habits. Phoebe is the awesome author of The Wellness Project, a memoir meets self-help book that chronicles her year-long health endeavor experimenting with health habits like managing stress, switching to green beauty products, etc. to help manage her autoimmune disease, Hashimoto’s and find “the middle ground between health and hedonism.” We walked through her intimate experience with each of those 11 habits in our first podcast convo (episode 37) and now Phoebe’s back to dish the “where they are now” dirt about what life’s been like in the wake of The Wellness Project and how she’s found perfect health and happiness and has no worries in the world. Yeah right. She actually tells us the total truth about how her health journey just keeps going on and what she’s doing nowadays to keep herself feeling as good as poss, and how you slash me can follow her lead in feeling as good as poss. YAAAS! Get stoked to hear: - The aftermath of The Wellness Project. - Some of the symptoms of SIBO and what it really means. - How stress really is the worst thing EVER. - How to stop trying to be the cool girl and do what makes you feel good. - Ways to isolate healthy habits and determining if they're a tool worth using. - The importance of a vice detox and how to do it easily. - And loads more! Velkommen tilbage! Vi snakker naturligvis her om Star Wars: The Last Jedi og Blade Runner 2049. YAAAS! Rigtig god fornøjelse! Med venlig hilsen, Casper, Jesper, Marie & Jannik
