I had the opportunity to sit down with founder April Kelly, the first black-owned and woman-owned ready-made plant-based milk company that is scheduled to launch this summer. This isn't just some company trying to make money on a small pocket of black consumers by slapping an "organic" label on something. April wants all black moms to have access to a healthy option outside of the hospital if breastfeeding is not possible for a variety of reasons. She knows that there are many obstacles and barriers that black women face in society when trying to breastfeed including a lack of health insurance, poverty, and inadequate employment. April wanted to change the way mothers think about feeding their babies. Sure is a special ready-made plant-based milk that provides complete nutrition, quality, and convenience for mothers returning to the workplace. With the aid of pediatricians, I am so glad that April is providing us with an option, especially if you are unable to breastfeed your baby or choose not to. This ready made plant based milk  is obviously a very crucial role in Black Mompreneur history as it aims to help our kids develop and grow at the right pace! In this episode, Reka explores Jen Sincero's book Badass Habits.  Jen's book provides a no-BS look at how we function as it pertains to old and new habits.  We fail at our habits not because we're not willing to change but because people are not willing to support us in changing our habits, which then, in turn, makes you doubt and question, Am I doing the right thing? It's just human nature. And we have a tendency of wanting to be accepted, supported, and Unfortunately, that hinders our growth. The truth of the matter is everybody can't handle the new you, and everybody isn't going to be supportive of the new you. So are you going to have to set some clear boundaries or who has access to you? Two things can happen: One, they can be motivated by your change, your progress, and feel like I can do it too, or it can go the negative way and it can be jealousy, envy and they feel like, oh, so you think you too good?At the end of the day, Vision is not popular; the results are. People don't understand what it took for you to get to be. Who you are right now in this moment.  Shapeshifting into that person that you desire requires you to change your habits.Listen to the book https://www.audible.com/pd/Badass-Habits-Audiobook/1984886169 Get daily motivation  https://www.instagram.com/eat.laugh.hustle/Enjoyed this episode?
