Dakshima moved to Canada in 2016 from Sri Lanka. Before moving, She was a private legal practitioner for 8 years, often taking on pro-bono cases to aid underprivileged clients in the community. Soumya landed in Canada on the day of a snowstorm in February 2020 which was nothing compared to the storm that he had to face 15 days after landing when the Pandemic was declared.
