This week, I share three homeopathic remedies for horses with colds or flu. The seasonal shift to winter can make horses more susceptible to colds and flu, as horses often experience a dip in immunity as they transition to their winter coats and face changes in their diet, digestion, and hormones. As a result, we tend to see inflammation and various health issues cropping up during the fall. AconiteAconite is a homeopathic remedy often used for horses with colds, flu, or general malaise. It is particularly effective for horses experiencing fear, panic, or trauma. This remedy also works for acute inflammation across various organ systems, especially when symptoms arise suddenly. Symptoms to look out for include intense thirst, heightened sensitivity to noise and touch, a dry cough, or shortness of breath. It is best to use Aconite in higher potencies (200C), administered without food, and at a frequency of one dose per day until symptoms subside.GelsemiumGelsemium is suitable for horses experiencing profound weakness and fatigue, making it a good choice for those who seem incapacitated. Symptoms associated with Gelsemium include drowsiness, droopy eyes, and a low-hanging head. This remedy can also be effective for horses suffering from performance anxiety or stage fright. In cases of colds or flu, Gelsemium helps with symptoms of extreme fatigue, and it can even assist in addressing some respiratory conditions. It also gets used for horses that appear dizzy or uncoordinated due to weakness.Homeopathic InfluenzaThe Homeopathic Influenza remedy targets symptoms of the flu. It can be particularly effective for horses affected by viral infections. It matches the symptom picture of flu and helps stimulate immune defenses to combat the virus. Homeopathy focuses on the symptom picture rather than the specific strain of the virus, making it versatile for various flu symptoms, including chills, fever, and aches. Homeopathic Influenza can also work in herds when flu is circulating among horses.General RecommendationsIt is advisable to use those remedies at a potency of 200C, although 300C can also be effective. Homeopathy emphasizes getting results and then backing off. Once you see improvement, discontinue the remedy, as the immune system may continue to strengthen without further dosing. Integrating Nutritional SupportIn addition to homeopathic remedies, nutritional support plays a vital role in the recovery of horses. Consider supplementing their diet with vitamins, particularly vitamin C, which can bolster their immune system during colds or flu. High-quality hay and easy-to-digest grains can also help maintain energy levels and overall health. Remember, a well-nourished horse is more able to fight off illnesses, so dietary considerations are just as significant as the remedies themselves.Consult with a ProfessionalWhile homeopathic remedies can be effective, it is advisable to consult a certified homeopath or veterinarian if symptoms persist or worsen. Building Your Homeopathic KitCreating a homeopathic kit is an excellent proactive measure for any horse owner. Alongside Aconite, Gelsemium, and Homeopathic Influenza, consider including remedies for common ailments, like Arnica for trauma or injury and Belladonna for fever and inflammation. Having homeopathic remedies readily available can save time and stress during emergencies, allowing for prompt treatment when your horse needs it most. Remember that the goal of homeopathy is not just to alleviate symptoms but to support the health and resilience of your horse.Links and resources:Connect with Elisha Edwards on her website Join...

We've discussed the death of the Charger and Challenger, and now it's time to pay tribute to their platform-mate, the Chrysler 300C. Come 12/31/2023 the only Chrysler you'll be able to buy is a Pacifica Van. Wow.... Adams spots a 2015 Aston Martin V8 ‘S' GT manual shift car on the streets of Highlands, NC. It had red lipstick but has (thankfully) been reverted to a tasteful AM that can be shown in public. Our trauma surgeon Dr Stephan Moran discusses the costs of vehicle versus animal collisions. Spoiler alert: they're huge. He talks about some solutions. No one has ever tried to call a performance car practical: They're big, thirsty, lack luggage room and visibility, and are finicky and expensive to insure. Not so for hot hatches. The guys discuss the greatness of this automotive niche and list their faves. Here we go (partial list): 1. Renault Clio V6 2001-2005 Rear/mid engine crazy car. 1,309 built. 254 hp at 7200 rpm 3.0 V6 Originally created as a mad man project of a Renault engineer – Axel Breun - who wanted to put Renaults hot engine into a chassis meant for mid/rear engine. He found the Renault hatch, called the Twingo (which sounds like a packaged desert cake) and the Ferrari 308 had the identical wheelbase and was going to buy one of those for his test mule chassis. 2. Corrado VR6 – 1992 –1995. Low of $16k, high of $40k for a mint car, if you can find one. Narrow angle V6, great exhaust note, 190HP stuffed into a taught little nicely designed and serious looking car, the Corrado delivered. Super aero, obvs, with virtually no protrusion from the front whatsoever, this little chiseled brick was good for 0-60 of 6.4, top speed of 145, and STILL got 28.5mpg on the road. 3. Subaru Impreza WRX 2011-2014, 3rd Gen 2.5 liter flat 4 maybe the best WRX, 268 hp, 6 speed manual, great seats, great utility, seriously proven 4WD. OMG fun... 4. We have a lot more.... #carsoncallpodcast
I got my Car-Chum Mike to promise he wouldn't make me guess a year that pre-dates my Bronze Age relatives. To be fair the year was good. Mine was a lot newer, so hopefully there's something for every taste. And what taste you have in choosing the Car-Chum Podcast. In this On the Move, hosts Matt Avery and John Kraman kick things off by recapping the Elmer's Auto and Toy Museum auction. The four-day event was marked with several impressive high sellers including a 1970 Plymouth Road Runner Superbird pedal car that sold for $59,000 and a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS that claimed $242,000. Then it's on to Mecum's pair of October collector car consignment auctions, Chattanooga and Chicago, before diving into the details of Ferrari's all-new Purosangue. The SUV is a first for the luxury automaker and features a naturally aspirated V-12 engine. Then the guys chat about Chrysler's send-off to the long running 300 sedan: the 2023 300C. The limited-edition version will come equipped with a 6.4L Hemi V-8 engine producing 485 HP and 475 lb-ft of torque. Then Matt and John close out with a look at the history and heritage of Ford's iconic pony car, discussing the monumental million-dollar Mustangs that have crossed the Mecum auction block in recent years. In Segment 2, the guys chat with Ed Krenz, chief engineer for the Ford Mustang. Ed shares how the all-new, seventh-generation Mustang was developed and how the key emphasis remained on delivering driving fun. He details the trims, including the Dark Horse performance variant, which features a 5.0L V-8 with a projected 500 HP, and some of his favorite features.

(后期会有彩蛋放出,敬请期待)手表请大家先把自己的最大心率和静息心率设置准确,E(轻松跑/有氧跑/恢复跑/LSD配速)可以看心率跑,M(马拉松配速)T(乳酸阈值配速)I(间歇跑)看配速,R(重复跑/冲刺跑)看时间。

It’s a "duesie" of a show with this On the Move focusing on the rich history of the exquisite Auburn, Cord and Duesenberg vehicles. Before jumping into those pinnacles of prewar classics, hosts Matt Avery and John Kraman are gearing up for next week’s Mecum Glendale auction. Part of the hype is a discussion of a major announcement relating to a special collection coming to Dana Mecum's 34th Original Spring Classic auction this May in Indy. Then it’s off to GMC’s announcement that the company will be unveiling the 2023 HUMMER EV SUV on April 3. The vehicle should boast the same all-electric powertrain as the pickup truck version unveiled last year. Both are expected to have a range of 350 miles with 1,000 HP on tap. Then, John follows up with the latest on the future for the Chrysler brand under the newly formed Stellantis organization before Matt shares an exciting update: a 2021 Ram TRX, sporting 702 HP, will be out mixing it up at the Dodge Thrill Ride at next week’s Glendale auction. In the second segment, Matt is on the horn with the Auburn, Cord, Duesenberg Automobile Museum Executive Director Brandon Anderson and Curator Sam Grate. The trio explore the more than 100-year legacy of the Auburn Automobile Company, including how its vehicles were at the forefront of innovation, safety and technology, and boast many firsts. They share some of the fascinating celebrity ownership associated with the vehicles, and then turn their attention to the foundation of the museum: the only automotive museum in the world still housed in the company’s original building. Wrapping up, it's talk of the upcoming Auburn, Cord, Duesenberg Festival, a multi-day event held in the Midwest town of Auburn that will showcase dozens of the exclusive classics. There’s a total of eight different collections crossing the block at next week’s Mecum Glendale auction, and in the final segment, Matt and John are sharing which are their favorites. John is sweet on The Napa Valley Collection, a group of vehicles that include a wide range of desirable rides including a 1970 Oldsmobile 442 W-30 Convertible, a 1966 Yenko Stinger and a 1970 Mazda Cosmo Sport Series II. Meanwhile, Matt gives an A+ to a stellar collection of letter-cars contained in the Chrysler 300 Collection. The group has a wide range of the 1950s sportsters, including a 1957 300C, a 1959 300E and a 1962 300H. These cars were the first American production cars to have an engine (a 331 CI Hemi V-8) that delivered 300 HP.

CAR NEWS - NOVEMBER 2017 What a month for car news! The new Tesla Roadster and Truck has caused so much butt-hurtery with fossil fuel fans, but traditionalists can be happy the new Jeep Wrangler is only 0.1% different than the old one. Corvette have gone from poor man's Lamborghini to full on Lamborghini while Lamborghini themselves have gone old-skool Lamborghini. But then Konnegseg have gone an done 277mph done an old road in Nevada. We're living in crazy times and perhaps the new new Discovery number plate position is a sign of that. CAN WE GIVE ASIA ITS EV DUES? While we've all been having a good laugh at the Toyota Prius over the years, it's time to acknowledge it's been fighting the EV fight now for two decades. Asia has led us into a new era kicking and screaming and it's all too easy to fawn over Teslas and follow ze Germans. Toyota normalised the electric car and, if you've got a taxi in the last year, you've probably felt the benefit. BADGE ENGINEERING? WHO ARE YOU KIDDING? We're going to stick our necks out here and dare to suggest there's something a bit wrong with sticking Bentley badges on your 300C. We also think that putting M-badges on non M-Sport BMWs is a bit naff too. Badge engineering has spun so far out of control now even the manufacturers are in on it. IS A CAR AN OBJECT OR AN EXPERIENCE? You know we're not scared of getting a bit philosophical and we ask the ultimate question here, should a car be a material possession or a form of theatre. The fact is driving and car ownership gives us something very special beyond the usual consumerism but we still easily lose our way. We also have to respect that the person we see driving an expensive sports car may be in it for the pleasure and not the ostentation.
Ron starts this episode talking to callers about various car issues. Learn more about your ad-choices at https://news.iheart.com/podcast-advertisers
Fusion3 F400 3D Printer Review – Ep 41 This week I will do a review of one of my 3D printers. The printer is the F400 from Fusion3. Fusion3 is a relatively new and small company based out of NC. The F400 was my 2nd 3D printer I purchased. My first printer was a Cube3 from 3D systems. That machine was so bad that 3D Systems does not even sell it anymore, but it did teach me the basic of FDM printing. I consider the F400 my first “real” 3D printer. Before I get into what I like and don't like about it, I will first explain a little about this machine and why I decided to purchase. I purchased this machine is August 2016, price was approximately $5000, I think just a little under. The machine is a FDM type printer and has a build volume of 14” by 14” by 12.6” tall. At the time of purchase, I really needed a machine that could make big parts and this seemed to be the best one I could find under $10,000. So, what do a like? Here is my list 1. It is a big machine, and that's crucial for my business. I get inventors who come to me all the time with product ideas in the 8-12” range and most FDM printers are not quite big enough. 2. It is FAST. I run this machine all the time at 6000mm/min, and never really have issues. Of course, that is material dependent (tip: don't try running flexible filament that fast) 3. It can run any material up to 300C glass transition temperature (i.e. melting temp). This means I can run basically any common or exotic material. 4. It has an enclosed build chamber. This is extremely important if you use ABS filament. One of my other FDM machines is an Ulitmaker2+ extended (let's call it the UM2). While I like that machine and use it often, I have found that I can only run very small parts in ABS on it. Why is that? Well ABS plastic tends to warp a lot. The reason is because it shrinks a lot as it cools. Therefore, you need an very hot (100C) environment the entire time it is printing, or some areas of the part will cool before other areas. If that happens, the parts will often crack. So I can get away with small parts on the UM2 because it is near the bed, but a tall part will not be near the bed, which is kept hot at a constant 100C. On the F400, since it is fully enclosed, the heat is maintained throughout the entire part. 5. Lastly, the customer service is awesome. I heard it was good before I ever bought from the, and I knew I needed that because if you buy a 3D printer, you have a lot to learn to get it right. What don't I like? Not much but I had one MAJOR issue at the start that I can't leave out. This story goes way back to August 2016. The first 3 months I had the machine, I didn't have a lot of issues. But then things changed. A lot of the issues had to do with clogged nozzles and jams. One thing that is important with 3D printing is that the bed is very level and the gap between the nozzle and the bed (called the Z gap) is just right. I just kept having problems, no matter how many times I went through both the level and Z gap process. It was really confusing and both me and the support guys couldn't really figure it out. I even went as far as renting a van, packing the machine into it, and driving 2 hours north to Greensboro for them to troubleshoot it right there. That took basically an entire day and cost me a few hundred dollars to rent the van. Not a week after I got back home, it started acting up again. A month later, they agreed to completely swap out the machine for me. I just paid the shipping on the new one. I want to say this was around December 2016. For the new few months, I would still have intermittent issues with the new machine. I was extremely frustrated and I estimate I spent 200+ hours of my time in total troubleshooting it. I did ultimately get everything to work, and the machine has been nearly flawless the last 5 months. What I think did it was the light sensor. The light sensor is on the moving hot end and it basically live calibrates the level of the bed as it prints. I think this part was the culprit the entire time I was having problems, possibly with both machines. It is ironic that I basically tried everything else that support and I could think of before finally replacing this part. Ever since I replaced the light sensor, I really haven't had any issues. That wraps up my review of the Fusion F400. In summary, I think it is a great machine, albeit a little pricey compared to other FDM printers. I think also a lesson learned here, is that 3D printing is tricky and sometimes you will just get unlucky and have an issue like this and try all the wrong things before you finally try the right thing.
