SobieCasts's are finally back! In this cast, Sobie and Drew talk about all of the big budget movies coming out in 2017. They play a podcast classic game of 'In' or 'Out' about the big movies of 2017, some of their answers may surprise you. They talk about the new M. Night Shyamalan movie "Split" They decide that 'Lego-Batman' might be the best superhero movie of the year, Sobie has a bold prediction about "John Wick 2" Sobie and Drew are so in on "Logan" they can hardly contain themselves, They talk about the probable disappointment in "Kong: Skull Island", their hesitations over the live-action "Beauty and the Beast", they ask if the new "Power Rangers" will take place in the Breaking Bad universe, how Dom Terretto will always win them over for the new "The Fate of the Furious" movie. They talk about the excitement for the new 'Guardians of the Galaxy', then talk how they are very interested in the new 'Alien: Covenant" movie, they crap all over "Baywatch", and crap even harder on the new "Pirates of the Caribbean." They talk about their insane excitement for "Wonder Woman," then talk about how the Transformers franchise has let them down way too much in the past, talk about the de-aging of Marisa Tomei who is in "Spider-Man: Homecoming," Sobie is over the world for "War of the Planet of the Apes," they talk briefly about Christopher Nolan's "Dunkirk," and wax poetic over Idries Elba in the Stephan King adaptation, "The Dark Tower." They get excited for "Blade Runner 2049," Sobie thinks Thor: Ragnorak might suck, They both think long and hard about the new Justice League movie that raises way too many red flags to get excited about, and finish up by talking about Star Wars: The Last Jedi, which didn't have a title when they recorded the episode. Welcome foolish mortal, to the EVIL-Land podcast! Your pathetic host, Jeremy, is my prisoner. Neverland is MINE, and I'm unleashing a season of evil that even Darth Vader would be jealous of! My plans are nearly complete at Scott and Tracey from Disney Indiana have arrived in Evil-Land to hunt for the Spider-Pan Jeremy. They get a bit lost in a memory about The Little Shop of Horrors, both the Roger Corman horror comedy and the 1986 musical with surprising Disney connections. While they're daydreaming, I'll make my move. Your not so friendly Ghost Host will soon rule all! You'll never escape my wrath in Evil-Land! Welcome foolish mortal, to the EVIL-Land podcast! Your pathetic host, Jeremy, is my prisoner. Neverland is MINE, and I'm unleashing a season of evil that even Darth Vader would be jealous of! I turn my back for one little minute to step into Jeremy's home in Disney Indiana, and Lost Boy Eric returns to Evil-Land with some sort of device that allowed him to speak to Spider-Pan Jeremy! The two of them had lots to catch up on, with an announcement for Nintendo Switch and some news from Disney Parks. They had the courage to venture into the Neverland Trailer Park and watch the sneak peak of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. Two and a teaser for Logan, both upcoming films featuring Marvel characters. Atchison, KS is said to be the most haunted town in Kansas, and with Jeremy trapped on the other side, he managed to pay a visit. Take a trolley ride with a "paranormal investigator" through town and hear all sorts of scary stories that will shiver your bones. Eric promises to return with friends next week, so I think I'll have to have a final showdown with them all! You'll never escape my wrath in Evil-Land! Lost Boy Eric has arrived in Evil-land investigating the disappearance of Spider-Pan Jeremy, and the mysterious Pixie Dust shortage! He'll not be so tenacious when he finds me, your Ghost Host running things. It seems that Jeremy has found a way to send messages from where I'm holding him, and he's got some news and movie trailers to share involving Wolverine, Tangled, Jack Sparrow, and Power Rangers. I'll make hum suffer for this outrage. Next it is our mutual delight to share with you some frightful fun from a 1995 McDonald's Happy Meal Halloween cassette! Happy 50th Birthday Star Trek! As the 50th Anniversary of one of the most influential franchises in the history of entertainment approaches we thought it would be a good idea to get together and pay tribute to it. Myself (Craig), Sandy, Alec Peters of Axanar fame and Nick Cook who brought us the fan series Intrepid spent a long evening talking about Star Trek and bringing our thoughts on the best and worst of the franchise to all you listeners. Since the discussion went on for a long time it was decided that it would be better to split it into 3 parts. This first part deals with what Star Trek means to us personally and focuses on Star Trek: The Original Series and Star Trek: The Next Generation. We hope you enjoy and will join us on this continuing voyage through all three parts. A special thank you to 331ERock for his amazing cover of the themes of both The Original Series and The Next Generation. Just an FYI this was recorded on 07/30 before the critic embargo was lifted. Sobie and Drew talk about their excitement for the cast and seeing what they can all do. They discuss the absolutely great marketing campaign for the film and dive into some of the controversies from behind the scenes. They also talk about how they aren’t sure how Jared Leto’s Joker will look in the film and how will the film use the character. Along with curiosities over Leto’s Joker, they also discuss Ben Affleck’s Batman and wonder how he will fit into the film. Sobie and Drew also take a suggestion from Dirty Stu and breakdown the career of Will Smith (18:15). They talk about his early start in music to his first ‘big’ gig in “The Fresh Prince.” They also go into full detail over his filmography and speculate why he made certain career moves. They also talk about what films are next for Smith and what films they would like to see him in. They also discuss underrated and overrated Will Smith performances.
