Arsenal secured a crucial 2-1 victory against Girona at the Municipal de Montilivi in their final Champions League group stage match, clinching a spot in the round of 16. The Gunners coming from behind to win and finish third in the group with 19 points; albeit some luck to go with it. Girona surprisingly took the lead through Arnaut Danjuma, capitalizing on a poor run by Arsenal's goalkeeper Neto. However, Arsenal's response was swift. Jorginho equalized from the penalty spot composure under pressure. The highlight of the half came just before the break when 17-year-old Ethan Nwaneri announced himself on the European stage. His curling effort from the edge of the box was simply breathtaking, putting Arsenal ahead. The second half, Arsenal continue to press for a third goal, with Gabriel and Timber coming close from corners. However, Girona proved resilient, nearly equalizing through Cristhian Stuani, only for it to be ruled offside. The match remained tense until the final whistle, with Raheem Sterling missing a late penalty that could have sealed the game more comfortably. While Arsenal's performance wasn't flawless, securing an away win in the Champions League and progressing to the knockout stages is a significant achievement. Nwaneri and the team's ability to come from behind are positive signs as we look ahead to the round of 16. Take a listen for more about this match. The challenges grow as wait for the draw. This is the Arsenal! On to the next one. Come on you Gunners!

On James' fixture planner for the first 8 gameweeks the team that appears top of the difficulty ratings, is Everton. Can they take advantage and get off to a good start despite concerns that they'll be involved near the bottom of that table again? And if so are there FPL assets to consider? The answer is almost definitely yes. Jordan Pickford, James Tarkowski and Ashley Young may all appeal defensively but the gem might be 4.0 Jorrod Branthwaite. Could he start the season? And at the top end Arnaut Danjuma and Dominic Calvert-Lewin – subject to fitness – could also be considered and as we find out on the Podcast there may even be a gem who is yet to be given a price. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

On this episode of the OneFootball Podcast, Dan Burke is joined by Matt Frohlich and Alex Mott. Harry Kane is on the verge of making Tottenham history after equalling Jimmy Greaves's all-time goalscoring record for the club on Monday, but if he ends his career without a trophy, will it all have been for nothing? Manchester United and Newcastle United both have a foot in the Carabao Cup final after their wins this week, with Nick Pope and Marcus Rashford both being in excellent form. Everton said farewell to Frank Lampard in the most predictable news of the week. Will it be Marcelo Bielsa or Sam Allardyce taking over at Goodison Park? And can anyone save the Toffees from relegation? The transfer window is getting interesting after Spurs hijacked Everton's move for Arnaut Danjuma, Newcastle are linked with Anthony Gordon, Allan Saint-Maximin is linked with AC Milan and Bournemouth could be about to pull off one of the coups of the century. And there's the FA Cup fourth round coming our way this weekend with some very tasty ties, most notably Manchester City vs Arsenal and giant-killers Wrexham taking on Sheffield United.

What's good, Rank Squad! We're back for another tryst into the chaos of the January transfer window, trying to make sense of everything that's going on around us. Today, we take a look at five players who are potentially on the market and could make a huge difference to a new club in the second half of this season. We start with Ferran Torres, who is linked to Arsenal (again), as a potential alternative to Mykhailo Mudryk; before moving on to Arnaut Danjuma (linked with Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest, Bournemouth and Leicester City); Duvan Zapata (linked to Everton and West Ham); Michail Antonio (linked with Wolves, but we'd like to see him in Italy, at AC Milan, Atalanta or Fiorentina); and finally, Moises Caicedo (linked with Chelsea and Liverpool). There's a return for Things We Love, where Sam discusses our upcoming documentary on Athletic Club which is dropping this Friday on our YouTube Channel; and Jack waxes lyrical about Napoli's 5-1 victory over Juventus on Friday night (what else is new.) Melon of the Week comes from a very slippy St. James' Park, to Jack and Dean's chagrin, there's shoutout of the week, and Sam talks his problems with Wordle in the Gibberish Rankings. It's Ranks!
Missen we Messi?

Arnaut Danjuma proved the difference on Sunday in a resilient AFC Bournemouth performance which saw us overcome Norwich City 1-0, thanks to a superb turn and shot from our Dutch delight. The away side pressed relentlessly in the second half, but a steadfast showing from the Cherries helped us to hold on to all three points - condemning the Canaries to their second defeat of the season in all competitions.
