It's claimed improvements in personal behaviour will be the driving force in stamping out littering in Ennis. The county town has fallen eight places in the latest Irish Business Against Litter rankings, which have just been published, with An Taisce's report determining the county town is no longer cleaner than European Norms. Ten sites in Ennis were assessed as part of the judging process. Half received an ‘A' Grade, beginning with the Westfield Housing Estate, where inspectors commended house-proud beautiful flower arrangements and a complete absence of litter. The dualcarriageway from Skehanagh Roundabout to Clare Abbey Roundabout was also recognised for its cleanliness, along with the approach road from the Kilrush Roundabout and the stretch from Rocky Road Roundabout to Kilrush Road Roundabout, which was described as a "very good impression, with a striking sculpture." Cathedral Court rounded off the top tier ratings for its "well maintained residential site." Merchants Square, O'Connell Street and Ennis Bus and Train Station each earned a B+ rating, with small amounts of litter noted in all. Notably, judges described the public realm enhancements as "looking fantastic" and the station to be "much improved from its condition two years ago." Issues with alcohol related litter in the grass and hedges were flagged at Kilrush Road Car Park, which received a B Grade. The worst performing area in Ennis, meanwhile, was Dunnes Stores, where the surface area car park and store entrance, gave "the overall impression of a littered environment." Most items were food related, along with significant quantities of receipts, with accumulations in trolley bays, grass verges and hedges. IBAL Spokesperson Conor Horgan says the issues in Ennis are not major and require improvements in personal habits. Ultimately Ennis was judged to be ‘clean to European Norms' and finished 13th overall in the Irish Business Against Litter League for 2024; falling eight places on its position from six months ago. Between March and September, Ennis Tidy Towns had a record number of volunteers collected an average of 20 bags of rubbish every night. Ennis Tidy Towns member and Fine Gael Councillor Mary Howard says given their efforts, the result is disappointing, but believes there are simple initiatives that can change the tide. Overall, Naas retained top spot and was one of 13 towns cleaner than European Norms. Limerick City and Galway's Inner-City were both judged to be littered, while Dublin's North Inner City was the only ‘seriously littered' area nationwide.

In this conversation we laser in on her assessment of developed markets' economic growth, or lack thereof, and where she sees the investment opportunities. She discusses where the UK and Germany are failing, why excessive regulation is a problem, how she weighs up bonds versus stocks, EM versus DM equities. She also covers why Warren Buffett may be spot on with his energy investments, and how the US economic boom masks a more stagnant picture in emerging markets (home to 90% of the world population). While many analysts are giving the Denver Broncos a C-Grade to F-Grade for this years draft class, I look at it rather differently, giving them between a B-Grade and A-Grade. This draft seemed focused and other than the scare of not getting our QB after a move by the Falcons, went smoothly once we knew QB Bo Nix was going to be there for us to select a pick twelve. #unitedinorange #broncos #broncoscountry #broncosfan #nfl #nfldraft #podcast #broncoscountryblitz --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/broncoscountryblitz/support

It's all systems go in Ouyen as the Rams rev up for finals time in Red Cliffs Cricket this weekend. Dom Leach joined the Flow Friday Sports Show line-up to look ahead to this weekend's action and to review last weekend's efforts of the B-Grade side; both A and B-Grade teams have qualified for finals.
Dom Leach previewed the final round of the Red Cliffs home and away cricket season on the Flow Friday Sports Show. The A-Grade side will have to make do with life on the sidelines with yet another bye round, while the B-Grade will attempt to maintain their rise in the form ranks with a trip to Fire Brigade this long weekend.
Dom Leach provides analysis on last week's B-Grade success and looks ahead to this week's Red Cliffs cricket action.Last Friday night, the A-Grade team received word that their match with Robinvale would not go ahead due to the opposition not being able to field adequate numbers, which brought about an interesting talking point on this week's show.

The amazing resource of The Golf Rules Samaritan that Fraser Nicol has produced. GRQOTW 1010: Barney the B Grade golfer hits his approach shot into a green side bunker on the short 15th hole of the very prestigious golf club at Wombat Hills. The ball is in the middle of a large collection of temporary water in the middle of the bunker. As the only relief area in the bunker would put the ball in a very difficult position on a slope, Barney decides to take BOL relief outside of the bunker. After making this decision, Barney walks into the bunker to retrieve his ball. In doing so, he creates footprints. Barney retrieves a rake and smooths the footprints, and then correctly drops his ball outside the bunker…but instead of using BOL relief, he has changed his mind and has now taken S&D relief, from a distance fairly close to where BOL relief would have put him. Before playing his shot, Barney notices that the raked footprints are in his line of play for the short shot over the bunker to the hole that was a mere 6 feet onto the front of the green. After playing his shot, how many total penalty strokes has Barney incurred? GOLFRULES QUESTIONS MERCHANDISE Get yourself a Roo&Coo polo: https://golfrulesquestions.myspreadshop.com/ . Felicia is joined by Eugina Gelbelman to discuss Brian De Palma's iconic and shocking Dressed To Kill (1980). They chat about De Palma's ability to elevate a B-Grade thriller to A-Grade material through his master craftmanship. His use of split screen and split diopter, and dialogue free scenes to show and not tell the audience the characters movements. They gush about De Palma being one of their all time favourite directors (Felicia's top favourite director? Maybe, probably!), and how deliberately frames each scene, and how no one is able to pace a story like him. We revisited the theme of the Satanic Panic (which we covered in an earlier episode) but had a lively discussion on the historical conservative moral panics that seem to follow socially progressive eras; and more importantly, how they're continuing to unfold in current events. We talk about the fall of the Roman Republic, the fall of the Weimar Republic, social reactions to the Civil Rights Movement and second wave feminism in America in the late 60's/70's, the Satanic Panic in the 80's/90's, and the current iterations of cult guru Teal Swan and the Q Anon conspiracy theories. We draw heavily on the podcasts Conspirituality, Behind the Bastards, and You're Wrong About. For more about the fall of the Roman Republic, Lauren highly recommends The Storm Before The Storm by Mike Duncan or his podcast The History of Rome. Recapping the Dolphins season with NBC6 Sports Anchor, Ruthie Polinksy, and her overall thoughts on how Miami performed this year under rookie head coach Mike McDaniel.
Episode 17 - Since the 1950's people have been obsessed with creature feature films, with that decade being a highlight for the genre. B Grade movies are a special treat for those who love their movies with a side order of schlock. Made famous in Drive Ins the B Grade movie has a special place in cinema lore and when done well can be amazing. Tremors is a B Grade movie with an identity crisis, it seems to think that its A Grade fair and i must say, it's hard to argue. With a great ensemble cast including Kevin Bacon, Fred Ward and Michael Gross this slick screenplay is a guilty pleasure to be enjoyed by the whole family. With a special guest in the Panic Room - DAMO GILES - this is a step outside the norm for the team but a welcome one. If you haven't seen Tremors, do yourself a favour and hunt it down NOW!
Mike and Tracy exchange challenging concepts and challenging art.

This Week: A terrifying horror filled chat session, for no pre-planned reason at all.
We're back from the 90s after a week's Buffalo-clad sojourn with Haddaway and Dori admits she has FOMO. Which raises the question can FOMO after you're missed out? We then get into two movies that are so bad they're brilliant and Paulo plays Dori the new NKOTB song - featuring Dori's all-time favourite. Part 1: Haddaway recap. Part 2: Movie recommendations. Part 3: New Kids on the Block are back. Everything we discuss in this show can be found on @That80sShowSA on Facebook. Also look out for the podcast tab and listen from Facebook. This podcast originally plays as a radio show with music - here are the songs we spoke about and played: I can't go for that - Hall & Oates. Hard Day - George Michael. Bring Back The Time - New Kids On The Block (Ft Salt-N-Pepa, Rick Astley, En Vogue). Was that all it was - Kym Mazelle.
