You set up an assumption, you have a theory, you analyze your data, and you show that the assumption does not hold. Doing good qualitative research is that simple. Except that it's not, of course. On the ground, in the research and writing process, these basic rules can be quite tricky to implement. So we discuss some heuristics researchers can use to limit their conversants, settle on suitable theoretical lenses to examine their data, and collecting more data than what they thought was necessary.   References Geertz, C. Today's show opens with our usual Friday offering of diving into Tara Bull's Top 10 News items you likely didn't hear about in the headlines. After we run through that news jog, we look at the terrible jobs numbers for October. On top of that, I remind you that the jobs numbers have been continuously revised down, revealing just how bad the Biden-Harris economy really is. The Colorado Secretary of State, Jena Griswold, should be lawyering up, in my opinion. Given the sent a clerk in a single county away to prison for 9 ½ years over exposing irregularities with Dominion voting machines, what do you say about the person who has potentially exposed all the voting machines in the state to hackers? Kamala Harris has another brain malfunction at a recent rally. Her recursive word salad returned, only to then be interrupted by hecklers. On top of that, she still cannot answer the question about what would be her first action when elected. She is truly intellectually lazy with a very low-IQ. AP News was forced to report that the White House stenographers did not want to edit the presidential record in an effort to protect Joe Biden and assist the Harris campaign. He really did call every Trump support nothing but garbage. Polling from AtlasIntel shows all swing states going toward Donald Trump. While this is encouraging, do not let it keep you for adding to the vote totals. Get out and vote and make it count, not just for the presidency, but for every position up and down the ballot. The media has their newest hoax they are desperate to make you believe. In desperation to aid Kamala Harris, they want you to believe that Donald Trump has called for Liz Cheney to be placed in front of a firing squad. Thankfully, in the age of X, we can debunk these lies as fast as the Left conjures them up. Finally, I bring you a parody ad for a product called Abrain. It's a perfect way to send us into the weekend with a smile on our faces by @eddmoo and @iamNickPeterson. Please take a moment to rate and review the show and then share the episode on social media. They comment on Bill Clinton's decline, the fictional Tim Walz highlighted at the DNC vs. the one with a real & disturbing record as governor, the Dems projecting the fantasy that they are the party of freedom, and Biden's commerce secretary giving a bizarre reaction to a lousy jobs report.First, after commenting on Clinton's speech that was underwhelming and way too long, they dissect the "strikingly shameless" portrayal of Tim Walz as an everyman and good neighbor instead of the far left politician who coddled rioters, threatened anyone reluctant to take a Covid vaccine, added a Covid snitch line, and has had a cozy relationship with China for decades.Next, they shake their heads as Democrat after Democrat pretended that they are the party of freedom and that Republicans are the party of federal intrusion into our lives. And yet, there's only a couple of "freedoms" that they really care about and got repeated over and over Wednesday night. Finally, they laugh as Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo accuses Donald Trump of issuing the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) report showing the government overestimated the number of jobs created over the past year by 818,000. When confronted with the truth, Raimondo claimed she was not aware of the report.

Before you throw in the towel because you're not instantly good at something, let's talk. We've all heard, "If you can't do it right, don't do it at all," but what if that's holding you back? In this episode, I challenge the fear of failure that keeps so many from trying new things. From feeling weak at the gym to sounding terrible on your first podcast, sucking at something is part of the process. I explore how embracing imperfection and doing a bad job, at least at first, can actually change your life for the better. Because if it's worth doing, it's worth doing wrong until you get it right. For more go to: www.scottmlynch.comThis episode is brought to you by:Trade Coffee: drinktrade.com/motivatedSiPhox HealthConnecteamEmbrace greatness through these empowering offerings:Embrace the boundless power of your mind. If debates make you cringe, you aren't alone1 Dr. Sturg breaks down how the way televised debates are structured benefits media and benefits candidates, but generally isn't that great for the audience. Journalists can't do a good job as both a journalist and a moderator at the same time, and the financial model for news doesn't incentivize them to try. And for candidates, using misleading tactics like the Gish Gallop and throwing barbs makes it more likely that they will stay in the news for longer.
