Law firm partners Damien Weinstein and Brian Klein discuss their journey of founding Weinstein + Klein, a New Jersey-based firm, after leaving their previous positions at larger firms about six years ago. The two attorneys share their early experiences of starting a firm with minimal resources and learning through trial and error. They emphasize their focus on being a good business rather than just a good law firm, with Weinstein handling corporate transactional work and Klein focusing on employment law and litigation. The partners detail their recent transition to a subscription-based billing model, moving away from traditional hourly billing. They explain how they discovered this model when a client requested a flat monthly fee, and how they've since refined their approach to include regular client updates, proactive communication, and will incorporate comprehensive monthly summaries of work performed. While they acknowledge some challenges in convincing established clients to switch to the subscription model, they highlight the benefits, including better client relationships, more proactive legal work, and the ability to provide value beyond traditional legal services. The partners note that their subscription model allows them to serve as fractional general counsel for small and mid-sized businesses at a cost significantly lower than hiring traditional in-house counsel.__________________________Learn about Weinstein + Klein.Check out my new show, the Law for Kids Podcast.Get Connected with SixFifty, a business and employment legal document automation tool.Sign up for Gavel using the code LAWSUBSCRIBED to get 10% off an annual subscription.Visit Law Subscribed to subscribe to the Substack newsletter to get notified about every episode, listen from your web browser, and for additional content.Follow @lawsubscribed everywhere.Sign up for the Subscription Seminar waitlist at subscriptionseminar.com.Check out Mathew Kerbis' law firm Subscription Attorney LLC. What if doctors could use microbes to treat infections? It might seem counterintuitive at first because, well, aren't the microbes the problem? Not really. Our bodies have microbes living in and on them, which is a good thing. These organisms, called the human microbiome, help keep us healthy. Because of the amazing benefits of having these microorganisms as a part of us, why couldn't we try and take bacteria or other microbes that are considered “healthy” and use them to fix some of the problems we experience due to “bad” microbes? There are numerous companies developing ways to use microbes to fix microbial problems. So, in this podcast episode, I chat with Dr. Brian Klein. He is the co-founder and CEO of BrickBuilt Therapeutics, a company that is developing microbiome-based therapeutics to treat infections of the mouth. We discuss the oral, skin, and gut microbiomes of humans and the potential to treat diseases or disorders affecting those sites of the body using microbes. In this episode, you will learn about…The human microbiomeBrickBuilt Therapeutics: an oral microbiome therapeutics companyC. difficile infections and fecal transplantsMicrobiome-based therapeutics for C. difficile infectionsProcess of turning a microbiome-based discovery into a productAt-home microbiology activity: sequencing microbiomesJOYFUL MICROBE SHOW NOTES: https://joyfulmicrobe.com/microbial-therapeutics-brian-klein/JOYFUL MICROBE TWITTER: https://twitter.com/joyfulmicrobe/JOYFUL MICROBE INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/justineldees/

We wish him nothing but success as he pursues dreams of playing in the Association.  The baseball team took full advantage of poor teams and pitching these past four games as they plated 76 runs. Josh Jung, Grant Little, Cody Farhat, Michael Davis, Cameron Warren and Zach Rheams all mashed homeruns this weekend. Grant Little tied the school record for RBIs in a single game at 9, while Brian Klein tied the school record for runs scored. Josh Jung hit for the Red Raiders' first cycle since 2008 against New Mexico on Tuesday.  Spring football came to an end with the spring game this past weekend. Seth, Michael, LaBarre and Spencer watched the game together and we discussed the positions we were most impressed and excited for. We think Tech will rely more on the defense and the run game this season rather than the QB and receivers. The Big 12 might not have the stellar QB play, which will help Tech break in a new QB and receiving core.

Please welcome CEO Tom Morse to The Best Ever You Show. Tom is the CEO of Rushmore Essentials. Tom Morse has had a long and successful career bringing all kinds of new brands - from telecom companies to beverages and food products - into the marketplace and turning them into huge business juggernauts; one of his most notable successes was taking 5 Hour Energy from concept to multi-millions in sales in the blink of an eye; he has repeated this success with brand after brand.  A fortuitous meeting with Brian Klein of Kendall Frozen Fruits, one of the largest fruit purveyors in the US, led to a true meeting of the minds. Tom had the idea for a vitality drink and an entirely new category of beverages, plus he had the expertise to get it out successfully to the marketplace; Brian had the finest fruits in the world at his fingertips and was looking for new worlds to conquer. Between the two creative businessmen, it was a marriage made in heaven. A few short months later, Rushmore Essentials hit the market with REvive, a 2.5 oz. “shot” packed with 21 fruits and super-fruits plus a touch of green tea for people on the go, and REvitalize, a 32 oz. bottle loaded with the same fruit goodness for home or office.
