If you're like most people, having stress in your life is inevitable. If you're dealing with stress right now, know that you're not alone, and with everything that we have been through as a society these past couple years, how can we be surprised if we are experiencing stress? As a listener of The Balanced Life, you know that Robin has been working very intentionally over the past year to not only reduce stress in her own life, but also to figure out how to effectively manage it. In today's episode, we are going to dive into a practical and helpful framework that Robin uses called “The 3 D's” – which is Do, Delegate and Delete. With this framework, the goal is to simplify our routines in order to help reduce unnecessary stress in our lives, and by doing this, it can really reduce our overall load, day-to-day. We hope this episode will encourage you to take some time to pause and reflect, and to think about the things that you really want to do and be spending your time on, and the framework Robin shares will help you do just that. Show highlights: what you can look forward to in this episode! Some stress is actually shown to be good for you, but being in a constant state of chronic stress is a recipe for disaster and will negatively impact your health Robin reveals the “3 D's” framework and how she, her team, and friends use it to simplify more and stress less Some examples of what's on Robin's “Do” list and why she is prioritizing these things in this season of her life How she thinks of delegation, and the first things that comes to mind when she's looking to take things off of her plate Asking for help is not only beneficial to you, but also to the people that you are asking for help You may be able to delete things from your life that may have once been important in a different season, because little things deleted now can equal big results and more time back in your day Links in this episode: Try Lindywell free for 14 days! If you've been following along on Instagram or Facebook, or are a member of The Balanced Life Sisterhood, you've heard Robin talking about what it means to create a healthy home environment. Often when we think of health and well-being, we think about the foods we're eating or how much we're exercising, but how often do we think about our environments and how they are supporting us? Today's episode is with Becky, aka “Clean Mama”, and she is the perfect person to be talking about this topic. Becky is a long-time member of The Balanced Life Sisterhood and she is an expert on what it takes to have a clean and healthy home. Becky has created systems and processes that take the stress and overwhelm out of housekeeping, and her work has changed the lives of so many people! We hope you come away from this episode feeling encouraged and empowered to create a healthier home and to keep it with a bit more order, without feeling overwhelmed. Safety in the home with the products Becky uses has always been important, especially since a scary incident years ago with her oldest child and a product she came into contact with If you feel you're too busy to clean, you'll never get a handle on it. Becky shares her 4-part routine, starting with simple daily tasks that will actually give you back your time. Studies show that more clutter leads to more stress, but just cleaning off a table or removing items from one small area can make a huge reduction in the amount of stress that you're feeling. Showing versus just telling or teaching your kids what to do will work so much better, and remember to break it into small, manageable tasks when getting them involved! There are certain things you can do if you and your roommate(s) have different cleaning habits, but it's important to set the ground rules before moving in together. Becky shares her thought process when developing her own DIY recipes for cleaning solutions that are quick and easy to make. There is one area of the house that is worse than the others for toxins, which is why she recommends starting there. Becky and Robin share a lot of the same philosophies on life, and she's a big believer in grace over guilt when balancing life and maintaining a clean and healthy home. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession- to the praise of his glory.” Ephesians 1:15–23 “For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers. I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength, which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.” Ephesians 2:8–10 “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God‘s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.“ Ephesians 2:13 “But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ.“ Philippians 1:6 “being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”

Clean Mama.com says here's how you can clean all your bathrooms in 15 minutes.
Who thinks weekends should be for recharging and not housework? While the end result is awesome, cleaning the house isn’t exactly fun. Today we’re talking to a guest instructor with a strategy for ditching the weekend-long cleaning marathons and the Monday thru Friday chaos. Becky Rapinchuk, also known as Clean Mama, has been sharing her time-saving cleaning routine online since 2009. Her quest is to simplify everyday life and show her readers and followers how to get the cleaning done quickly and safely, so they can enjoy the things that matter. Her ideas and tips have been featured in Real Simple, Martha Stewart magazine, Better Homes & Gardens, and many others. Becky believes your clean home is just a daily task away- and we are here for it! By the end of this class you’ll have an understanding of The Clean Mama routine, some awesome home-keeping tips and ideas for making your home feel cozy and clean! What do you think is the biggest cause of overwhelm when it comes to maintaining a home? People like to be told what to do sometimes. It's overwhelming when you don't know where to start. Why do you suggest a cleaning routine? You waste a lot of time looking around for the biggest messes. Instead of being reactive, you'll know exactly what you need to do daily. What does your routine look like? Daily Tasks: Make beds, check floors, counters, clutter, laundry. Weekly Tasks: M- bathroom, T- dusting, W- vacuuming, Th- floor washing, F- catch-all, S-sheets and towels. Rotating Tasks: Clean appliances, floor boards, windows, comforters etc. Monthly Focus: Each month has a different focus, like paperwork or decluttering for example. How much time do you devote to these daily tasks? 15-20 mins. Let’s talk about the tools for the job. Which products do you love to use? Here is her favorite page off her website! Microfiber towels Microfiber duster A good vacuum with a HEPA filter. Becky's favorite vacuum is THIS ONE How do you avoid a stinky vacuum? Clean it out really well! Use a cotton ball and drop some essential oils on it, then drop it in the tank. What do you suggest people avoid when buying cleaning products? Bleach Most conventional cleaners because of all of the chemicals Dryer sheets (use wool dryer balls instead and vinegar as fabric softener) How do you get bad smells out of your sink? Sometimes you need a professional if there's something in your trap or a bad connection with your dishwasher, so make sure that's not the case. If you think it's food, put a couple ice cubes, dish soap and/or baking soda down the drain. What do you suggest for cleaning toilets/grout with toddler boys!? Cream of tarter paste and an old toothbrush. Put it on the grout, let it sit a couple minutes and wipe it clean. Hydrogen peroxide and vinegar will also cut the smell. THIS lime enzyme all natural cleaner. How often do you replace sponges? Throw them in the dishwasher at night at least once a week, and you can do so until they start to deteriorate. How do you clean your makeup brushes? Use a silicone mat like this one. HOMEWORK: Make a nightly sink scrub: 2 cups of baking soda, essential oils (clove and lemon is great) then add a squirt of dish soap and scrub with a sponge or a dish brush and rinse. Make your bed every day! FIND BECKY!
