From his humble beginnings in the mountains of Nepal, Krishna became a Gurkhas, going on to pass the gruelling SAS selection, later leading the elite mountain troop. Throughout his military career, Krishna not only faced life-or-death situations but also remained deeply connected to his spiritual roots, having served as a spiritual leader in his village before his military journey. This unique combination of spiritual wisdom and warrior discipline is at the heart of this episode. Jordan and Krishna delve into the intersection of physical resilience and spiritual strength, exploring how Krishna's experiences in the SAS, from war zones to mountain expeditions, shaped his perspective on life. Krishna also shares ancient Nepalese philosophies, offering insights on mindfulness, meditation, and the importance of staying connected to our roots while facing modern-day challenges. This conversation touches on deep themes like overcoming limitations, the balance between peace and protection, and the significance of serving a cause greater than oneself. Whether you're interested in spirituality, personal growth, or just want to hear the incredible story of a man who has lived on the edge in both war and wisdom, this episode is for you.

I had a conversation with a friend recently about raising children. The person I was talking to didn't think it was possible to raise a child as nonbinary. In fact, they believed that it was impossible to raise a child without gender norms. Well, allow this interview to be an example for anyone out there who shares that belief. In this episode of Dem Bois Podcast, I sit down with Zyon Aijon and he tells us what it was like to be raised without limitations and expectations and encouraged to be exactly who he was. Do you feel like you are walking a spiritual tightrope? Remember to go to the website and grab the 1 Samuel Scripture Journal today so you are ready to go when we begin! If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another. — Galatians 5:25-26 This verse might seem like an add-on, but it is not. Paul is explaining the spiritual tightrope we walk each day—the tightrope between an old form of arrogance and a new form of arrogance. The cliff on one side is a life directed by proud fleshly desires. The cliff, on the other side, is a life lived by the Spirit but tempted by a righteous form of pride that takes credit for what the Spirit does. You see, once you have been a believer long enough, you will learn to walk in the Spirit. But sometimes, as we are walking in the Spirit, we will feel a sense of pride for the fruit that is produced through us. We have to be careful at this point because righteous arrogance is just as insidious as unrighteous arrogance. Thus, we have to keep our step as we walk this tightrope to ensure we are not tipping either way. On the one side, we tip into selfish arrogance, and on the other, we tip into self-righteous arrogance. So, are you watching your step as you live by the Spirit? #SpiritLedLiving #HumilityOverPride #WalkingInFaith ASK THIS: Reflecting on your own spiritual journey, have you ever found yourself tipping towards either side of the tightrope described—either into selfish arrogance or self-righteous pride? How can you actively guard against these pitfalls and maintain a balanced, Spirit-led walk in your daily life? Think about a recent experience where you sensed the Holy Spirit working through you to produce fruit or bring about positive change. How can you ensure that, instead of taking credit for these actions, you humbly acknowledge the Spirit's role and give glory to God? What practical steps can you take to cultivate a heart of humility and gratitude in your spiritual walk? DO THIS: Walk the tightrope and give attention to your pride. PRAY THIS: Father, help me to walk humbly in the Spirit, avoiding the pitfalls of both selfish arrogance and self-righteous pride. May I always acknowledge Your work in my life and give glory to Your name. Amen. PLAY THIS: Obedience.
La Porta | Renungan Harian Katolik - Daily Meditation according to Catholic Church liturgy
Delivered by Father Peter Tukan, SDB from Salesian Don Bosco Gerak in Labuan Bajo, Diocese of Ruteng, Indonesia. 1 Peter 5: 5b-14; Rs psalm 89: 2-3.6-7.16-17; Mark 16: 15-20 PHYSICAL AND SPIRITUAL BALANCE The theme for our meditation today is: Physical and Spiritual Balance. The resurrection of Christ is very rich with inspirations that lead us to a meaningful and perfect life. One element of the teachings of resurrection is about our beings and our activities in space and time that sustain the physical and spiritual balance of our lives. Our bodies and souls need to be treated equally important because we need an integral growth as human persons with dignity and what God actually wants us to be. When one spends most of the times on spiritual matters, he will find himself avoiding other times for interaction with other people, working for a living, and engage in cooperation for environmental and social development. On the contrary, if one spends most of his times working, interacting with others, and building businesses, he will have only few times for rest, reflection, prayer, renewal of spirit and perspective about life. Likewise when it comes to using the place. When one gives preference only to a place that is quiet, calm, closed, or separated, he or she will be reluctant to an open or wide space where interaction, communication, and collaboration are normally taken place. Whereas, those who are preoccupied only with places where busy hours, gatherings, meetings, associations, and multy-level connections angaged, they will have difficulty to find places for reflection, personal or intimate relationship and prayer. The work and ministry of the early Church, and especially the one done by the first apostle, Peter, indeed showed that physical activities were important and absolutely needed. In order to reach more places and people then eventually brought them to Christ, Peter should put all his efforts and sacrifices in spreading the Gospel. He should meet many people, teaching and convincing them on the Gospel he preached. He should work hard and was ready for any consequences. But Peter also had the responsibility to be the sign of unity among the preachers, evangelists, and bearers of good news of the Gospel. He should maintain their faith and spirit of work. He should make sure that all his co-workers, including Mark, who was considered his favorite son and was later believed to be a gospel writer, had undoubted integrity as the workers of the Lord's vineyard. Their missions to the rest of the world, and what is normally happened with all the Church's workers until today, shows that all supporting goods and matarials are so vital. It is absolutely true that all the facilities, tools, funds, culture and social life are very basic conditions for the success of the Church's mission in whatever part of the world. Meanwhile, the spirit and living examples originated from the work of the Holy Spirit also determine the goal of the mission itself. That's where the balance of physical and spiritual aspects should be well maintained. Let us continue to ask for God's power to perfect what Church has done and achieved so far in realizing her great mission. Let's pray. In the name of the Father ... Almighty and everliving God, strengthen our faith so that we may live in balance between the physical and spiritual benefits in our journey of faith. Hail Mary full of grace ... In the name of the Father .. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/media-la-porta/message
The 4-Step Process For How Busy Moms (Or Stay-At-Home Dads) Can Get Control Of Their TimePrayStarting our day in a posture of prayer and reliance on the Lord instead of trying to white-knuckle our way through life in our strength changes how we approach life. We feel a lot less stressed and more at peace, and it helps us focus our energy on those things that truly matter in Eternity. This can look like quick flare prayers we shoot up throughout the day when we feel overwhelmed, aren't sure how to approach something, or just feel extra tired or weary.PrioritizeIn the book, Crystal outlines what she calls the 6x2 Priority System. She has six Priority Areas around which she wraps her time and life, but she only picks two to focus on per day and then rotates the ones she focuses on. So, instead of trying to do all the things every day, she just intentionally spends time on two areas. For instance, that might look like an at-home date with your spouse (Marriage Priority Area) and coffee with a friend (Friendships Priority Area). The next day, it might be spending extra time decluttering and catching up on tasks at home (Home Priority area) and having a game night with the kids (Kids Priority area).PlanCrystal suggests writing down everything you need to do or remember (even tiny things) in a Google calendar as an all-day task and assigning it to a day by which it needs to be done. Then, every night before bed, write out a handwritten Time-Blocked To-Do List with everything mapped out for the next day. It's like a budget but for your time. PrepA successful day begins the night before. One way to make your day run much more smoothly is to take 30 minutes before going to bed to pick up the house quickly, figure out what to do for breakfast, make lunches, get bags and backpacks ready and set out by the door and lay out everyone's clothes for the morning. The difference this makes in our mornings and the rest of the day is incredible. On Today's Program, Rob Answers Listener Questions:I've been unemployed since February of this year and have been applying to numerous positions with various companies. All I've gotten is one in-person interview and a few phone interviews, but beyond that, there is nothing else. I want to find out what mistakes I'm making in this stage of the job search as I'm worried about my employability. I'm a retired military serviceman who currently has TRICARE and doesn't qualify for an HSA because of the type of insurance I have. Am I correct in that?I'm confused about tithing. I received an inheritance about 10 years ago, and before I deposited it into my account, I tithed the full amount. After that, I put the money in an annuity to give me an income stream when I retired. My question is, do I tithe on the income I receive, or has that already been tithed on?Resources Mentioned:The Time-Saving Mom: How to Juggle a Lot, Enjoy Your Life, and Accomplish What Matters Most by Crystal PaineMoneySavingMom.comCareer DirectNail Your Next Job Interview: Faith & Finance EpisodeRich Toward God: A Study on the Parable of the Rich FoolFind a Certified Kingdom Advisor (CKA)FaithFi App Remember, you can call in to ask your questions most days at (800) 525-7000. “Enough” is an interesting word. When we can stand no more we declare that “We have had enough.” When things are going well we say “We can't get enough.” There is another sense of “enough” found through Jesus. These are the “enough's” that keep us going, hold us steady and enable us to maintain spiritual equilibrium in our lives. Shane and Mike discuss four spiritual “enough's.”

May 29, 2020 #Yogananda #YogaMeditation #BhagavadGitaSRF minister Sister Priya shares her insights into how to find spiritual balance in our lives with meditation as the foundation. In this talk, recorded at the 2000 SRF World Convocation in Los Angeles, she also discusses how we can allow the problems of life to drive us closer to God; the importance of forgiveness in our finding balance; and the power or prayer to bring about change in ourselves, our lives, and the world. The SRF/YSS path of Kriya Yoga meditation—taught by Paramahansa Yogananda in the SRF/YSS Lessons—is a comprehensive system for balanced spiritual living. As Sister Priya points out, “Regular meditation will always be primary among the SRF requirements for a balanced and spiritual life. Our guru, Paramahansa Yogananda, never spoke of the essentials without stressing meditation.” She tells us that it is regular meditation, especially Kriya meditation, by which, in Yogananda's words, “Men and women, one by one, escape from creation's prison of duality as they awaken to consciousness of their inseverable divine unity with the Creator.” But in addition to meditation, the spiritual aspirant looking for true happiness must also consider how to make one's whole of life balanced. And this is where Sister Priya stresses the comprehensive and universal nature of the spiritual discipline, or sadhana, to be found in the “how-to-live” SRF/YSS teachings: “[Paramahansa Yogananda's] sadhana is suitable both for householder and renunciant seeking freedom in God, because it includes this beautiful balance of regular meditation, of service to God in others, plus rest, recreation, and exercise. Everything in moderation.” At the beginning of this talk, Sister Priya also speaks of the hope she feels after having just visited a SRF summer youth program: “If children like this…represent the future of SRF and the future of the world, I think we have less to worry about than we thought. They radiated such purity and yet such depth, gentle spiritual strength.” To learn to practice the SRF teachings of Kriya Yoga meditation: https://yogananda.org/lessons To learn more about Self-Realization Fellowship: https://yogananda.org/ To learn more about programs for youth from SRF: https://yogananda.org/events-and-prog...
