Send us a textTyrion meets Griff and young Griff. He has suspicions about who Griff might be, but Griff is plenty suspicious of Tyrion in return. Mackelly and Simon ponder the possibilities. Chapter ReviewTyrion is passed from Illyrio to Haldon the Half-Maester and Ser Rolly “Duck” Duckworth, along with letters, chests, and candy for young Griff. As they depart Tyrion sees Mopatis looking forlorn. Duck provides his life story, including being dubbed by Griff watched by Ducks, confirming his nickname. When they reach the Little Rhoyne at the ruined city of Ghoyan Drohe, they rendezvous with the riverboat, the Shy Maid. They are welcomed by Young Griff who dyes his hair blue in the Tyroshi fashion - after his mother - but Tyrion thinks that it won't fly in Westeros. Griff the elder is far from pleased to welcome Tyrion. A letter from Mopatis explains what is going on, but doesn't change his mood. He thinks Danaerys would be well advised to reject a kin and kingslayer from her service. But Tyrion catches him in several lies and suspects who Griff might truly be.Characters/Places/Names/Events:Tyrion Lannister - Youngest son of Tywin Lannister whom he recently murdered. Brother to queen Cersei and Jamie Lannister. Former Hand of the King.Illyrio Mopatis - Magister of Pentos. Former guardian of Viserys and Daenerys Targaryen. Friend of Lord Varys.Griff - red-haired sellsword in service to Illyrio Mopatis.Young Griff - Griff's son. Cared about by many.Haldon Half-maester - One of Griff's men.Ser Rolly “Duck” Duckworth - Westerosi knight, who serves Griff. Ghoyan Drohe - City in Essos destroyed by dragons centuries ago.Rhoyne River - greatest river in Essos. Flows south to Volantis. Cersei is so dumb. Like, actually so dumb. Like so stupid. In today's episode, we read chapters 16 and 17 of A Feast for Crows and find out how the twins' paths are diverging and discuss why this may be happening. We also theorize the reason for the Golden Company breaking its contract with Myr, whose side Lady Merryweather is really on, what mistakes will lead to Cersei's downfall, and how Criston Cole fits into Jaime's struggle.Character perspectives in this episode: Jaime and Cersei...Create a podcast with Buzzsprout and get a $20 Amazon gift card with our link!https://www.buzzsprout.com/?referrer_id=289148Thanks so much for listening! Have you been glued to your TV everytime Game of Thrones is on? We DEFINITELY have. And now that the series is completely over, we feel we need to dig into what we thought of season 8. Because love it or hate it, the HBO hit show has come to an end. Many fans are happy with the outcome, but even more are outraged. What side of the fence are you on? Of course, Geek Herring hosts, Monika and Amanda, have some pretty strong opinions on how season 8 has wrapped up. And they're talking about them - in full spoiler territory. So if you haven't watched it yet (who are you?!) and don't want to get spoiled (have you been staying off the internet all week!? Tell us your secrets!) - turn back now! Want to know what we thought about: Danaerys and Jon Snow's relationship The Battle of Wintefell Who killed The Night King Sansa and Tyrion's touching crypt moment Tyrion's myriad of emotional scenes Arya's sex scene Ser Brienne of Tarth Brienne and Jamie Jamie and Cersei The razing of King's Landing Danaerys' last moments Drogon, the smartest dragon in the world... or the stupidest The fate of the Starks Bran the Broken And sooooo much more Then tune in to this episode of Geek Herring! Fair f-bomb warning in advance. What did YOU think of season 8? One thing we want to be very, very clear about: We adore Game of Thrones. And whether we were disappointed with story pacing or not, the actors have been absolutely incredible with totally faultless performances and deserve every bit of credit in the world. Same goes for most of the crew, especially the cinematography and costuming departments. THANK YOU for 10 amazing years. Have you been living under a rock? Game of Thrones er forbi! David of Westworld 'Cast joins Kristin to discuss the season 6 finale episode, “The Winds of Winter.” Together they break down the careful layout of the next season with kings and queens being put into power, Arya’s return to Westeros, and the moment we have all waited for; Danaerys’ move into Westeros with her entire fleet. Season 7 is next, which means we are even closer to the premiere of Season 8! Thanks as always for listening, and remember to check out our contest for season 8 on our Facebook page! Valar Morghulis! Five time guest Wendy “Super Fan” Eppers joins Kristin this week to discuss “No One” of our series rewatch! Lots of movement in this episode as the season begins to wind down before the last two epic episodes of season 6. Arya claims her name and home as she exits Bravos, Cersei chooses violence, and Danaerys is back in town right in time to see Mereen under attack. So many moving parts as sotries and places begin their consolidation to shape the rest of the series! Thanks for listening, and Valar Morghulis! Have you heard about our contest? Go to our facebook page to see how to join in the fun! Thanks for all your support! First time guest host, Avelino joins Kristin to discuss the penultimate episode of season 5, Dance of Dragons of our series rewatch! We begrudgingly breakdown the senseless killing of a beloved character, and enjoy reliving the epic and iconic moment Danaerys takes flight on Drogon for the first time. Now that this episode is over, Avelino mentions (and Kristin agrees) that the show is smooth sailing from here on out, with no more horrendous episodes to re-live. Do you feel the same? Join our rewatch discussion on social media and by listening in each week as we gear up for the final season! We made it to Hardhome, easily one of the top 3 episodes of the entire series! Even looking to the side of the epic battle that is Hardhome, surrounding events are just as worthy of the episode. Dave and Kristin discuss every corner of this iconic episode, from the failure beyond the wall to Danaerys and Tyrion’s first real conversation. Enjoy! I know we did. Molly and Alice talk about mother's day before ending up on Game of Thrones for about twenty minutes. You've been warned! Mad Men, Game of Thrones - Caitlyn Stark, Cersei Lannister, Danaerys, cw: sexual assault and miscarriage, The Mindy Project.
On Episode 51, the gents start off with some World Series talk as RA and Whits take opposing views about the post-game proposal. They also discuss Crosby's missed empty-netter attempt from center ice that cost RA some shekels and the hideous Team USA jersey before bringing on the always entertaining Colby Armstrong (@armdog). Armdog talks about dressing up as Danaerys for Halloween while live on TV, his NBCSN debut, the sick costumes that NHL players always come up with, what ails the Oil, riding aboard a truck in the Penguins parade, and so much more. There's no way he's going back to the minzies after this ep. The boys then have some laughs as they finish up with #AllRightHamilton questions. Lotta fun once again. Tune in.
