This week Jared is joined by Caitlin Peluffo and Matchmaker Maria ! Jared gets right into it and asks his cohosts if he's crazy for disliking this bread policy at a restaurant in St. Louis. Don't shame a man into asking for more, just put the bread on the table! It goes back to regular programing here at JTrain and we discuss YOU! We get a mailbag of a friend realizing their roommate's ex boyfriend had actually cheated on her during the time of their relationship. Do you tell your friend or let it be because they have already broken up? The three then go into a new segment called Excited or Despy!? Sometimes sweet things are nice to hear, but their delivery can be a bit A.I-ish. Is this guy excited or desperate? Before we head into the patreon we discuss another new segment — Social Media and Dating. We get some quick questions from you about what it means to date and use social media. What if you don't have social media, is that a turn off? What if the person you're dating doesn't want to be friends on instagram?
This week on the show Fax, Chris and Garrett are talking Mox vs Despy, Aew, the Pope's Exorcist and Klute! Due to some techincal issues this one ends abruptly, but we'll be back next week with a full episode and better than ever!
A classic We Work Stiff show review where the wholesome Aussie Stiff Boi's break down the key matches and characters to explore how a show of Independence for New Japan Pro Wrestling solidified the identity of the fledgeling brand. The lads answer listener questions as they discuss who Eddie Kingston can be in NJPW, why Despy can be the face of the revolution, what the War Dogs are doing and the bois wrap it all up by deconstructing the Willow v Guilia match to try and answer a question that has been bugging them for a while. Chris and Garrett are chatting GCW's Tournament of Survival, Cage of Survival, wrestling video games and Chris breaks the bad news about Chris Candido & Sunny to Garrett.
On a packed edition of the show, Josh and Dave detail their live experience of NJPW Tamashii at the House of Bangers, the Croxton, in Melbourne whilst exploring the broader philosophy in New Japan's current expansion efforts. Answering listener questions, the lads review NJPW Strong's Collison events, breakdown the great TV title and Despy v Ishii matches, discuss Aussie Open as ambassadors, David Finlay moving up the timeline, and Juice making everyone a little uncomfortable. Then the lads detail Tamashii in Melbourne, discussing their experience of Goto and Shingo live, the incredible main event between Eagles and Takagi, the rising stars of the brand and the potential directions they see the entire movement heading. Plus, a preview of Mercedes v Mayu at Stardom's Grand Queendom, that is informed by the potential of a Gulia matchup. Wrestling and MMA pretty much share common roots, but when did the two groups split up, and what do they still share today? We also talk a little on the new AEW tournament and the vicious deathmatch between Despy and Kasai! Enjoy!
With Redd struck down with COVID, 2 of the 3 wholesome Stiff Bois bravely push on this week by, ironically, going deep into a match. Though Josh and Dave start by broadly discussing different approaches to pro wrestling production and consumption, this ultimately makes way for a near hour long gush fest over the very recent El Desperado v Jun Kasai Deathmatch. The lads discuss every aspect of the match, from the moves, the moments, and of course, the big picture story beats and what they mean for the Despy character moving forward, as Josh works to convince everyone to go out of their way to see what he thinks is a ‘perfect' match. Then, inspired by the mentor-mentee story, Dave decides that this episode is as good as any to try and figure out SANADA. Plus, the duo attempts to answer listener questions relating to New Japan expanding into Australasia, the current PPV and World distribution model, and get in their early predictions for the two upcoming tag leagues. If you are looking for an in-depth dissection of some of the great happenings of nights 6 through 10 of NJPW's G1 tournament, we could recommend some other fine New Japan podcasts. But, if you want to a show dedicated to going as big D-block deep on David Finlay's tournament to explore what is says about the G1 philosophy this year, what it may say about the future of New Japan Pro Wrestling and how it is tied to the movements of Juice and the future of Bullet Club, then this is the show for you. After an extended opening preamble, where the Stiff Bois answer some listener questions about Mox and Despy, Japanese crowds and the uncertain future of Timesplitters, and recapping the Stiff1 standings it's a full hour of the lads blowing up the format and getting the D's out for David Finlay. The lads got excited, carried away, and produced something different, so feel free to let them know your thoughts about the show via Twitter. Follow us on twitter @weworkstiff Like. Share. Rate. The Stiff Bois are back to review the biggest stories coming out of Best of the Super Juniors Finals, discuss where to next for Hiromu and Despy, share some thoughts on New Japan and their booking philosophy in this their 50th year and then offer a preview of the most interesting stories heading into Dominion. Yes, there will be lots of Jay talk as we discuss the challenges of Big Story vs Long Story thinking and why this ultimately should lead to Goto being the logical next AEW champ. Welcome to the Squared Circle Podcast! I am your host, Marie Shadows! Today, I'm talking Wrestle Kingdom 16 night 1! I go over the matches and even question Tama Tonga about: Will he bring Evil with him and Loa to IMPACT WRESTLING? Evil needs something fresh and new; and need to give those 6-man NEVER Openweight Tag Team Championships to Tama, Loa, and Jay. They deserved during the beginning of 2021. I remember, I covered all that! Other than that, I deep dive into the strategy from Hiromu vs Despy. I enjoyed this Wrestle Kingdom 16. (STINGER: WWE) Wrestlers and fans are offering well wishes after Fightful reported Thursday that WWE has released Jeff Hardy. The news comes less than a week after an incident at a weekend house show in Texas, where Hardy left the ringside area mid-match by exiting through the crowd. Hardy retweeted a tweet by his wife Beth Thursday, that read “Jeff is good. We are good.” Jeff Hardy was being promoted for a tag team match on tonight's SmackDown. Obviously, that will not be happening. But WWE announced Thursday that the RAW Tag Champs Randy Orton & Riddle will be on tonight's show. They'll be in a 3-Way Match against the Smackdown Tag Champs The Usos AND King Woods & Kofi Kingston. Plus, SmackDown Women's Champion Charlotte Flair vs. Toni Storm in a non-title match…Naomi vs. Sonya Deville…and the SmackDown debut of Xia Li. Tonight's 205 Live has the in-ring debut of Lash Legend. There are new tag team champions in NXT UK. Moustache Mountain dethroned Pretty Deadly on Thursday's show. That makes Tyler Bate the first Triple Crown Champion in NXT UK. Also on Thursday's show, Blair Davenport beat Emilia McKenzie…and Sam Gradwell beat Sha Samuels. (STINGER: ROH) Ring Of Honor World Champion Bandido will NOT be part of Saturday's Final Battle pay-per-view. He was pulled from the show after testing positive for COVID-19. Bandido was set to defend the ROH Title against Jonathan Gresham. It sounds like he will be stripped of the gold and Gresham will face someone else for the title. Nothing official had been announced as of Thursday night. A new match was added to Final Battle: The Hex - Allysin Kay & Marti Belle - plus, Chelsea Green vs. Angelina Love, Mandy Leon & Miranda Alize. In addition to Final Battle, this weekend's ROH TV has PCO vs. Sledge in a Falls Count Anywhere Match…EC3 vs. Eli Isom…and Chelsea Green vs. Miranda Alize. (STINGER: AEW) Chris Jericho was hospitalized in the United Kingdom on Thursday. He's on tour with Fozzy, but their show in Wales scheduled for Friday is now canceled. The venue explained that Jericho was “hospitalized due to a non-COVID-19 health issue that can be treated.” The AEW Tag Team Titles are on the line on tonight's Rampage. The Lucha Brothers defend against FTR. Also tonight, it's time to SEND HOOK. The son of Taz makes his in-ring debut against Fuego Del Sol. Frost also beat Kimber Lee on last night's Before The Impact. Getting back to the main show last night… Eric Young won a Street Fight against Rhino, Deonna Purrazzo & Matthew Rehwoldt beat Knockouts Champion Mickie James & Chris Sabin. Purrazzo pinned James…with a little help from Rehwoldt. Matt Cardona beat W. Morrissey via disqualification. And FinJuice beat The Learning Tree's VSK & Zicky Dice. Also on the show, NZO won his MLW debut over Matt Cross. Arez beat Aramis…and was rewarded with a briefcase full of cash. (STINGER: New Japan) There is now a three-way tie for the top spot in New Japan's World Tag League tournament. Hirooki Goto & YOSHI-HASHI beat Great-O-Khan & Aaron Henare to move to 16 points. Tetsuya Naito & SANADA…and Taichi & Zack Sabre Jr. kept pace with wins on Thursday to also get to 16 points. The final day of pool matches is on Sunday. Saturday is the last day of pool matches in the Best Of The Super Juniors. The top two men in the standings will advance to Wednesday's final. Alexa wanted an apology for Shayna calling Lilly a “stupid doll”. Shayna did not. She and Alexa got into some fisticuffs, leaving Shayna alone in the ring...where she stomped Lilly's head. That set off some special lighting effects and pyro...and sent Shayna retreating to the backstage, where she locked herself in a room...only to find Lilly was in the room with her. Shayna was very distressed by this. End scene. End show. Elsewhere on Raw, Women's Champ Rhea Ripley and Charlotte Flair were forced to team up ahead of their title clash at Hell In A Cell....
