Professional wrestling tag team
POPULARITY
In my latest interview I sit down with one of the very best Tag Teams on the UK Indy scene. None other than Splits McPins and 'Fat Cat' Lloyd Katt.... Bowl-A-Rama!!! We discuss their incredible reformation as a tag team after 4 years apart and the reasons for their split, leading to their epic Loser Must Retire match towards the end of 2018. Fat Cat and Splits discuss the recent return of ATTACK Pro Wrestling and how they would like to be a part of the future of that group which has been a massive part of their journey from the very start. We discuss their amazing return to the ring as a duo in 2022, including matches for Modern Nomad Pro Wrestling, Slammasters, NO MERCY PRO WRESTLING, Pro Wrestling Resurgence and so many more! Splits and Lloyd tells us about their experience at Wet Cake Pro and their Live In-Ring Seminar match against Act Two and Hustle Malone at one of the most amazing shows from last year. The guys also discuss how they first formed as a team and their incredible success and amazing opponents as former two time ATTACK Pro Wrestling between 2017-2018. Taking on the likes of Moustache Mountain, CCK, Aussie Open, Team White Wolf and so many more! This was a really fun interview with two of the very best tag team wrestlers in the UK in 2023..... BOWL-A-RAMA!!!! Enjoy!

Listen and subscribe at www.JustProWrestlingNews.com I'm Matt Carlins and this is JUST Pro Wrestling News for Friday, August 20, 2021. This update is brought to you by IndyWrestling.us. (STINGER: AEW) 14,000 fans - the largest crowd to ever gather for an AEW event - will pack Chicago's United Center tonight. It's AEW Rampage: The First Dance. There's no doubt why all of those fans will be there. They are expecting to see CM Punk return to major professional wrestling for the first time in more than seven and a half years. AEW has confirmed NOTHING regarding Punk. BUT Tony Khan tweeted Thursday that a new era in AEW will begin tonight...and that “excitement from the most anticipated announcement in AEW history at Rampage...will build up through All Out”. There are some matches scheduled for tonight's show. The first match in the four-team Tag Team Eliminator Tournament: Jurassic Express vs. Private Party. Plus, Jade Cargill vs. Kiera Hogan...and Jon Moxley vs. Daniel Garcia. Garcia got a submission win over Matt Sydal on a special episode of Dark: Elevation that premiered Thursday night. Also on Thursday, AEW officially announced the signing of the tag team 2.0 - Matt Lee & Jeff Parker. (STINGER: Impact) The new Impact World Champion Christian Cage defends the title for the first time TONIGHT at Emergence. It's an Impact Plus exclusive show...starting at 7PM Eastern. Christian's challenger will be Brian Myers. Christian will NOT defend the TNA Championship. He retired the title on last night's Impact Wrestling. The next #1 contender for the Impact World Championship will be decided tonight in a 4-Way: Chris Sabin vs. Sami Callihan vs. Moose vs. Ace Austin. On last night's Impact...Sabin & Callihan beat Moose & Austin. Austin took the pin. Also on tonight's Emergence show...Josh Alexander defends the X-Division Title against Jake Something. The Good Brothers put their Impact Tag Titles on the line in a 3-Way against Violent By Design...and Rich Swann & Willie Mack. VBD's Joe Doering beat Doc Gallows in last night's Impact main event. At one point, Gallows drove Doering and himself through the floor of the entrance stage. But that was not the end. Doering rallied and pinned Gallows. Madison Rayne makes her in-ring return tonight against Taylor Wilde. Rayne announced her retirement back in January. Also tonight, Matt Cardona vs. Rohit Raju… Petey Williams vs. Steve Maclin… Knockouts Champ Deonna Purrazzo & Matthew Rehwoldt (ray-walt) vs. Melina & Trey Miguel… And Tasha Steelz, Savannah Evans, Fallah Bahh and No Way vs. Decay. (STINGER: ROH) Ring Of Honor is at Philadelphia's 2300 Arena tonight for the first of two Glory By Honor shows on back-to-back nights. Both shows will steam on Honor Club. Tonight's main event has Bandido defending the ROH World Title against Flip Gordon. Plus, Jonathan Gresham defends the Pure Title against fellow Foundation member Rhett Titus. (STINGER: WWE) As of Thursday night, WWE has yet to announce anything for tonight's SmackDown. It's the final stop before SummerSlam on Saturday night. WWE hosted a tryout in Las Vegas on Thursday. Afterward, Triple H told the invited media on hand that more than a dozen people were signed. WWE President Nick Khan was asked what the chances are that WWE will remain a standalone company in the next year. (Nick Khan WWE Future) That's Nick Khan speaking on “Recode Media with Peter Kafka”. On Thursday's NXT UK… Pretty Deadly had to cheat to do it...but they held onto their NXT UK Tag Titles against Moustache Mountain. Meiko Satomura submitted Stevie Turner to retain the NXT UK Women's Championship… Dani Luna beat Isla Dawn...but Dawn did manage to snatch a piece of Luna's hair so...little victories. Also, Saxon Huxley beat Eddie Dennis. The NWA announced Thursday that Ric Flair will appear on its 73rd Anniversary pay per view on August 29th. AEW's Diamante has been added to the talent lineup for the Empowerrr pay per view on August 28th. (STINGER: New Japan) Some fresh faces on tonight's New Japan Strong. Daniel Garcia makes his New Japan debut...teaming up with Fred Rosser & Fred Yehi against TJP, Clark Connors & Ren Narita. Also, Matt Morris - better known lately as Matthew Rehwoldt - has his first match in New Japan...against Alex Coghlin. Tonight's main event is Brody King & Chris Dickinson vs. The West Coast Wrecking Crew. Brody King told Wrestling Inc. that he tested positive for COVID-19...and that caused him to miss last weekend's New Japan Resurgence event. Minoru Suzuki will be a busy man during his visit to the U.S. this fall. Not only is he working dates for New Japan. He's also now announced for FOUR GCW shows across September and October. (STINGER: AEW) The Young Bucks will defend their AEW Tag Titles at All Out...inside a steel cage. Their opponents will be determined by a four-team tournament over the next couple weeks. It begins Friday on Rampage - with Jurassic Express facing Private Party. The winner there will face the winner of a match on next Wednesday's Dynamite between the Lucha Brothers and the Varsity Blonds. The Bucks benefited from a lot of outside interference as they beat Jurassic Express last night to retain their tag titles. The Elite laid out Jurassic Express and Christian Cage after the match. Another match announced for All Out: Paul Wight vs. QT Marshall. It will be Wight's first match in over a year. His last one was an Unsanctioned Match against Randy Orton on WWE Raw last July. MJF forced Chris Jericho to tap out to his Salt Of The Earth arm submission to win last night's main event. Sting & Darby Allin beat 2.0 in a wild Tornado Tag Match. It started after 2.0 and Daniel Garcia attacked Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston, who were supposedly heading to the ring for a promo. It never happened. In a backstage promo later in the show...Mox called out a bunch of guys, from Kenny Omega...to Christian Cage...to Hangman Page. Before any of them, Mox will have a match against Daniel Garcia on Friday night's Rampage. As for Kingston, TNT Champion Miro called him out in a pre-recorded segment, saying “The Redeemer wants to talk.” Sammy Guevara pinned Shawn Spears in a hard-fought match that spilled out all around ringside. Thunder Rosa submitted Penelope Ford. Dan Lambert once again bashed AEW during an in-ring promo. He had former UFC champions Andrei Arlovski and Junior dos Santos alongside him. Lance Archer eventually heard enough and made his way to the ring, but before he could get there...Archer was attacked and laid out by Ethan Page & Scorpio Sky. (STINGER: Impact) The new Impact World Champion Christian Cage will be back in the Impact Zone tonight. Also on the show, Melina will make her Impact in-ring debut. Plus, Moose & Ace Austin vs. Sami Callihan & Chris Sabin...Doc Gallows vs. Joe Doering...and Matt Cardona vs. Shera. Kiera Hogan is the latest name added to the Invitational Cup battle royale at the NWA's Empowerrr pay per view on August 28th. Also, the fourth and final team in the NWA Women's Tag Team Title Tournament at Empowerrr is a trio - The Freebabes: Miranda Gordy, Hollywood Haley J and Jazzy Yang. (STINGER: WWE) Today's NXT UK has a pair of title matches… Pretty Deadly defend their tag titles against Moustache Mountain.. Meiko Satomura puts her women's championship on the line against Stevie Turner. Bill Goldberg gave a quick comment on his contract status with WWE...heading into his SummerSlam title match against Bobby Lashley. (Goldberg Contract Status) That clip is from Wednesday's episode of “The Bump”. (STINGER: New Japan) Minoru Suzuki is coming to America. New Japan announced he'll be part of the Autumn Attack shows in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex coming up on September 25th and 26th. Also announced for those shows: Will Ospreay, Jay White, Lance Archer and the current IWGP Junior Tag Champs Taiji Ishimori & El Phantasmo. Back in Japan, a major title match is set for the Wrestle Grand Slam stadium show on September 4th. Hiroshi Tanahashi will defend the IWGP United States Championship against Kota Ibushi. It'll be Ibushi's first match since July 2nd. He's been recovering from a case of aspiration pneumonia. Aaron Henare told a talk show in New Zealand that he's recovering from a neck injury. His last match was back on May 4th. That's JUST Pro Wrestling News for Thursday, August 19th. Listen and subscribe at www.JustProWrestlingNews.com I'm Matt Carlins and this is JUST Pro Wrestling News for Friday, August 13, 2021. This update is brought to you by IndyWrestling.us. (STINGER: AEW) THREE title matches are set for tonight's premiere of AEW's new weekly series Rampage. Kenny Omega will defend the Impact World Championship against Christian Cage - the same man who will challenge Omega for the AEW Championship at All Out next month. Also tonight...Dr. Britt Baker defends the AEW Women's Championship against Red Velvet… And Miro puts the TNT Championship on the line against Fuego Del Sol. If Fuego wins, he doesn't just get the gold...he gets an AEW contract. Rampage airs tonight at 10PM Eastern on TNT. (STINGER: Impact) Whoever holds the Impact World Championship after tonight will defend it against Brian Myers…at the Impact Plus exclusive show Emergence...on Friday, August 20th. Myers earned the shot by winning a 20-man battle royal on last night's Impact. He dumped both Moose and Chris Sabin as they were battling one another to secure the victory. It was made very clear during the broadcast that Myers could challenge either Omega or Christian. In fact, Christian Cage himself appeared during the show in an interview with AEW's Alex Marvez. Another new match added to Emergence: Steve Maclin vs. Petey Williams. There was a pretty big upset last night. John Skyler pinned Matt Cardona...thanks in part to an outside distraction by Rohit Raju. Tenille Dashwood pinned Taylor Wilde after interference by Madison Rayne...the same Madison Rayne who announced her retirement back in January. Rayne and Dashwood embraced after the match. X-Division Champ Josh Alexander beat Daivari in a non-title match. FinJuice got a DQ win over Jay White & Chris Bey...after White blatantly attacked David Finlay and Juice Robinson with a steel chair. White is set to defend his NEVER Openweight Title against Finlay at Saturday night's New Japan Resurgence show in Los Angeles. Su Yung is BACK. She and a newly “undead” version of Kimber Lee attacked Kiera Hogan...who was dragged backstage by her hair. (STINGER: WWE) Keith Lee discussed the health issues that caused him to miss months of action. In a video posted Thursday, Lee went through his year...from contracting COVID-19 in January...to doctors later finding inflammation in his heart. Lee said he had to cease almost all physical activity while doctors decided what to do next. (Lee Heart Inflammation) That clip from that video Lee posted on Thursday. Lee said he's healthy now. He returned to Raw last month. As of Thursday night there are no matches announced for tonight's SmackDown...but we're being promised an appearance by John Cena for a face-to-face confrontation with Roman Reigns. 205 Live enters a new era tonight - a week after its roster lost a number of regulars to the latest round of cuts. A preview on WWE.com says the brand “will now occasionally play host to matches where one or multiple Superstars eclipse the 205-pound weight limit”. That's the reasoning for tonight's match between Joe Gacy and Josh Briggs. There's also a match between two true cruiserweights - Ikemen Jiro vs. Grayson Waller. On Thursday's NXT UK… Noam Dar beat Mark Andrews 2 falls to 1...in the first round of the Heritage Cup #1 Contender tournament. Also, Wolfgang beat Flash Morgan Webster...and Amale beat Nina Samuels. There will be TWO title matches on next week's show. Meiko Satomura defends her UK Women's Championship against Stevie Turner...and Pretty Deadly put their tag titles on the line against Moustache Mountain. NXT's Candice LeRae and Johnny Gargano announced Thursday that they are expecting their first child. The Great Muta has been pulled from Sunday's Pro-Wrestling NOAH show...due to Muta possibly coming into contact with someone who has COVID-19. NOAH calls the move “precautionary” Nosawa Rongai will take Muta's place on the show - tagging with GHC Heavyweight Champ Naomichi Marufuji against HAYATA and Ogawa Yoshinari. (STINGER: New Japan) Tonight's New Japan Strong has a tag team main event: The STRONG Openweight Champion FILTHY Tom Lawlor & Danny Limelight vs. Lio Rush & Karl Fredericks. Also on tonight's show...Hikuleo vs. Fred Yehi...and Wheeler YUTA vs. Barrett Brown. More names announced for the NWA's Empowerrr pay per view on August 28th. Masha Slamovich will be in the Invitational Cup battle royal. And the second team in the NWA Women's Tag Team Championship tournament is Renee Michelle & Sahara 7. Finally, some sad news: Former WWF Tag Team Champion Dominic DeNucci has passed away at the age of 89. That's JUST Pro Wrestling News for Friday, August 13. (STINGER: Impact) Some new matches are now added to Saturday night's Impact Plus exclusive Homecoming show. Josh Alexander will defend the X-Division Championship against Black Taurus. That's on top of the already announced Hardcore Match between W. Morrissey and Eddie Edwards...and a one-night mixed tag team tournament to crown the Homecoming king & queen. Another Impact Plus exclusive show was revealed last night. Emergence is set for August 21st - the same day at SummerSlam. Kenny Omega will defend the Impact World Championship on that show...against the winner of a battle royale that's coming up in a couple weeks. The ELITE HUNTER Frankie Kazarian made a surprise appearance on last night's Impact...helping Sami Callihan run off Omega and the Good Brothers. Kazarian is now set for a 6-Man Tag on next week's Impact - tagging with Callihan and Eddie Edwards...against Omega and the Good Brothers. It'll be Kazarian's first match in Impact since he left the company back in 2014. Jay White's first match in Impact was a loss. The Good Brothers beat White and Chris Bey. They pinned Bey with the Magic Killer. After the match, White made it clear that Bey is not YET a member of Bullet Club. Still, Bey later helped White stage an attack on David Finlay on Juice Robinson. Earlier...FinJuice, Fallah Bahh & No Way beat Ace Austin, Madman Fulton, Rohit Raju & Shera. Finlay pinned Raju. Moose beat Chris Sabin in last night's main event. Rich Swann & Willie Mack beat Violent By Design's Rhino & Deaner. Swann pinned Rhino with a 450 Splash. Taylor Wilde handily defeated Kaleb With A K, pinning him with a bridging German suplex. Trey Miguel and Steve Maclin fought to a double countout on Before The Impact. It looks like Susan is gone...and Su Yung is back. A vignette last night showed her alongside an “undead” version of Kimber Lee. (STINGER: New Japan) Tonight's New Japan Strong has the finals in the Tag Team Turbulence tournament. It's the Good Brothers vs. Brody King & Chris Dickinson. Back in Japan, there's a busy weekend ahead for the big promotions. New Japan has Summer Struggle shows on Friday and Saturday with an Elimination Tag Match in the main event on both days. Sunday's show has the NEVER 6-Man Titles on the line in the main event. Tomohiro Ishii, Hirooki Goto, and YOSHI-HASHI defend against Zack Sabre Jr., Taichi & Minoru Suzuki. Also, Pro-Wrestling NOAH has a big show on Sunday...with Naomichi Marufuji defending the GHC Heavyweight Title against Kazushi Sakuraba. (STINGER: ROH) Ring Of Honor's women's title tournament begins on this weekend's ROH TV...with three first-round matches: Miranda Alize vs. Alex Gracia...Mazzerati vs. Nicole Savoy...and Sumie Sakai vs. Rok-C. That match is set for NEXT weekend's ROH TV. (STINGER: WWE) WWE hosted a conference call for investors on Thursday. The pecking order in NXT UK's women's division may be starting to take shape. Jinny beat Aoife Valkyrie thanks to a distraction from Joseph Conners...and Stevie Turner beat Aleah James. As of Thursday night, there is essentially NOTHING announced for tonight's SmackDown. (STINGER: AEW) Domino's Pizza told “Front Office Sports” the company is “reassessing” its “advertising presence” after a Domino's ad appeared alongside the live broadcast of Nick Gage slicing Chris Jericho's head with a pizza cutter during a picture-in-picture break on TNT during Wednesday's Dynamite. A special welcome to those of you listening on TheWrestlingRevolution.com. If you want to bring our updates to your website...email us: desk@justprowrestlingnews.com. (STINGER: Impact) It's Bullet Club vs. The Elite on tonight's Impact Wrestling. Jay White - the leader of Bullet Club - tags with Chris Bey to take on one of Bullet Club's founding members Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows, who both now represent The Elite. Also tonight, a Slammiversary rematch between Moose and Chris Sabin… Rich Swann & Willie Mack vs. Violent By Design's Rhino & Deaner. An 8-Man Tag: Ace Austin, Madman Fulton, Rohit Raju & Shera vs. FinJuice, Fallah Baah & No Way. Plus, Taylor Wilde vs. Kaleb With A K. Before The Impact will have Trey Miguel vs. Steve Maclin, who's undefeated since he arrived in Impact. (STINGER: New Japan) New Japan's Hiroshi Tanahashi is coming to the United States. He appeared in a pre-recorded video on last night's Dynamite...issuing a challenge to whoever holds the IWGP United States Champion. That's still Lance Archer after he pinned Hikuleo last night. New Japan later announced that Archer will defend the title against Tanahashi on U.S. soil at the Resurgence show in Los Angeles on August 14th. The former IWGP U.S. Champ Jon Moxley delivered a message to Tanahashi on last night's Dynamite. Mox accused The Ace of avoiding him for months. Mox is scheduled to appear at Resurgence as well. (STINGER: AEW) This will definitely NOT quiet the reports and rumors surrounding CM Punk possibly coming to AEW. Last night's Dynamite was littered with some tantalizing hints. The big live event announcement promised last night was that Rampage in Chicago on Friday, August 20th will emanate from the United Center...and it will be a special called “The First Dance”. Then, Darby Allin delivered this message after being asked about Rampage in Chicago. (Allin Best In The World) That clip from last night's Dynamite. In a Q&A published Wednesday, the New York Post directly asked Tony Khan if “AEW has signed and/or talked to any former WWE champions”. Khan had “no comment”. Last night's show opened with the big 10-Man Elimination Tag between The Elite and Hangman Page & Dark Order. This match came down to Hangman in a 3-on-1 disadvantage against Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks. Hangman managed to eliminate Matt Jackson - BUT the numbers proved to be too much as Omega eventually pinned Hangman with the One Winged Angel. The stipulation for the match stated that if Hangman's side lost he would not get a shot at Omega's AEW Championship. Nick Gage delivered in last night's main event against Chris Jericho. This match had all the classic Gage weapons, from pizza cutters to light tubes to glass. A bloodied Jericho pinned Gage after spitting green mist into Gage's face, smacking him in the head with a set of four light tubes...and then hitting the Judas Effect. After the match, MJF announced the THIRD “Labour Of Jericho” for next week: Chris Jericho vs. Juventud Guerrera in a match where Jericho must win with a top rope move. FTR beat Santana & Ortiz in a match where Cash Wheeler apparently suffered a bloody injury to his right arm. Christian Cage & Jurassic Express beat Private Party & Angelico. Christian pinned Marq Quen with a frog splash. After the match, Christian was laid out by The Blade. Also, Thunder Rosa pinned Julia Hart with the Fire Thunder Driver. (STINGER: WWE) The tens of thousands of fans expected to attend SummerSlam next month could be required to wear masks. Nevada issued an emergency order Wednesday, in response to the CDC's new recommendation that people once again wear masks indoors to slow the spread of COVID-19.. Nevada's order requires people in 12 counties to wear masks in public indoor spaces - regardless of whether they're vaccinated or not. That includes Las Vegas and Allegiant Stadium, the site for SummerSlam. Natalya tweeted a message Wednesday, thanking fans for their kind words following her apparent injury on Monday's Raw - but she didn't share any specifics on the injury itself or its severity. Today's NXT UK is promoting a tag team showdown between Moustache Mountain and Symbiosis. He revealed that Wednesday in an Instagram post. He said he's been in the hospital for 5 days and expects to remain there for a bit longer. EC3 said the issue is “an infection (he) neglected proper care for”...and he will heal. EC3 is set to headline a “Free The Narrative” pay per view event...in a match against Matt Cardona...coming up on Thursday, May 27th. (STINGER: Impact) Tonight's Impact is the last stop before Sunday's Rebellion pay per view - and the big Title vs. Title main event between Kenny Omega and Rich Swann. We'll get some final words from both men. Also, we'll see the Good Brothers vs. Decay...Eddie Edwards vs. Eric Young...and Shera vs. Jake Something. (STINGER: AEW) A pair of title matches on last night's Dynamite... Hikaru Shida pinned Tay Conti to retain her AEW Women's Championship. Dr. Britt Baker was out after the match to reveal SHE is now on top of the rankings of contenders for Shida's title. In last night's main event...Darby Allin held onto his TNT Championship. He used the Last Supper to hold down Jungle Boy for the pin. During the match, Sting traded punches with Luchasaurus...and that tussle spilled down one of the entrance tunnels. After the match, Ethan Page and Scorpio Sky ran out to beat up Allin and Jungle Boy. Page hit Allin with the Ego's Edge. Lance Archer came out. Page and Sky beat him up too. Sting returned and that was enough to get rid of Page and Sky.. The show opened with Hangman Page SUBMITTING Ricky Starks - cinching up his head and ankle to get the tap out. Earlier in the match, Starks under-rotated while flipping out of a German suplex and landed on the back of his neck. Starks later tweeted that he's “good”. Team Taz jumped Page after the match, but Dark Order quickly ran out for the save. Penta El Zero Miedo beat Trent. Penta's translater Alex Abrahantes got physically involved in this match - taking advantage of a distracted referee...and hitting Trent in the head with a microphone, allowing Penta to finish him off. QT Marshall pinned Billy Gunn. This was a wild one. Marshall's student Nick Comoroto brawled with Gunn's sons at ringside. As that was happening, Anthony Ogogo snuck out...and one punch to the midsection of Billy Gunn led to a Cutter from QT...and the pin. Marshall was looking for more after the match - but he was run off by Dustin Rhodes, who was armed with a bull rope. Rhodes settled for smashing a wooden chair over the head of Comoroto. Christian Cage hit the Killswitch and pinned Powerhouse Hobbs. The Elite spent most of the night in their new personal trailer. So, of course, Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston showed up and rammed it with a pickup truck. (STINGER: WWE) WWE will report its first quarter earnings today. There will also be a conference call starting at 5PM Eastern with Vince McMahon, Nick Khan and others addressing investors. Moustache Mountain reunites on today's NXT UK. Tyler Bate and Trent Seven team up to face Noam Dar and Sha Samuels. Also on the show...Joe Coffey vs. Eddie Dennis. Any comeback plans for Ronda Rousey in WWE will have to wait. On Wednesday, Rousey announced she's pregnant. She and her husband Travis Browne said the due date is in September. (STINGER: New Japan) A stipulation was added to the upcoming match between Zack Sabre Jr. and Tanga Loa. If Sabre wins, he and Taichi get a tag title shot against the Guerillas Of Destiny. But if Tanga Loa wins, Sabre and Taichi can never again challenge for those titles. That match is at the Wrestling Dontaku show on May 3rd. (STINGER: ROH) Ian Riccaboni confirmed a report by Fightful that he re-signed with Ring Of Honor. Riccaboni said he signed the deal “during the early stages” of the COVID-19 pandemic. Major League Wrestling's Court Bauer delivering some news on last night's Fusion. He announced MLW is getting back on the road...holding hold its first event in front of LIVE fans in over a year. It's gonna be on July 10th...in Philadelphia, at the 2300 Arena - the former ECW Arena. Myron Reed will get his rematch for the MLW Middleweight Title now held by Lio Rush on Fusion on May 5th. An upset in the main event of last night's Fusion - Bu Ku Dao used a flying, spinning flatliner from the second rope...to pin TJP. Also last night, Rocky Romero submitted Gino Medina.
