In this Dailycast episode of Wrestling Coast to Coast, Chris Maitland and Justin McClelland aren't making a for-the-numbers podcast when they tackle AIW's 2-1-Syxx, a fun show featuring a wild (if hard to see) four-way match between Matt Cardona, Matthew Justice, Isaiah Broner, and Joshua Bishop, a fantastic technical bout where Timothy Thatcher grapples with Dominic Garrini, Steph De Lander vs. Joseline Navarro, and much more, plus tangents about things to do in Cleveland, how wrestling has changed since they started watching, and more. For VIP listeners, they check out the latest Warrior Wrestling show with Clark Connors vs. Jake Something and Max the Impaler vs. Warhorse.
Note: This episode was recorded before the car accident that Dom was in with Joshua Bishop, Derek Dillinger, and Marino Tenaglia over the weekend. Thankfully, it looks like all four of them are going to be fine.Kris and David are joined by "The Bone Collector" Dominic Garrini (@dgarrinibc) to discuss the week that was March 8-14, 2000. We start off with ECW and their Living Dangerously PPV, featuring the original insane New Jack/Vic Grimes scaffold spot, which was scary as hell, as well as Steve Corino going scorched earth on The Sandman's wife, Scotty Anton making his "debut,” the overall crazy booking and terrible production values of the show, Paul Heyman ranting to the Torch, and lots more in a very entertaining section.Next, we move on to the World Wrestling Federation, where Buh Buh Ray Dudley nearly kills Mae Young on an episode of Raw that also saw the return of Vince McMahon after being off TV since Stephanie's heel turn in December, as well asthe Mean Street Posse being awesome while pursuing the Hardcore Title. We also talk some Smackdown, TSN's editing of Raw, L. Brent Bozell wackiness, the Lionel Tate murder case, and even some reviews of Beyond the Mat.Then we go to the UFC for one of their most controversial moments ever, as they announce the main event of their UFC 24 PPV, Kevin Randleman vs. Pedro Rizzo, had to be cancelled due to a freak accident, but didn't announce it until the time for the main event to begin despite knowing for most of the broadcast. Kris has some stories about watching that in real time, particularly with regards to his and his friends' anger at how this went down. We also talk about the rest of the show as well some other MMA happenings.International is next, as All Japan gets bad news about their TV time slot, there's a wacky shoot angle with the Great Muta in New Japan, the Rikidozan Memorial Show takes place featuring Ron Reis as B.B. JONES!!!!!!!!!!!!, Perro Aguayo returns to Arena Mexico after eight years away, Chicky Starr jumps from the WWC to IWAPR, and tons more.We then go back to the U.S.A. for the indie scene, featuring early JAPW and CZW results, Screech showing up on Memphis Championship Wrestling to declare his love for The Kat/Stacy Carter, Dave Meltzer attends an All Pro Wrestling show, and more.WCW closes out the show, as we talk about their big U.K. tour, where morale was in the toilet despite the trip doing very well financially. We also talk about a couple of crazy-assed episodes of Thunder and Nitro featuring Team Package trying to recruit Arn Anderson and so much more insanity that makes it a must listen section.Helluva show here, folks, and a long one, too, so buckle up!!!!Timestamps:0:00:00 ECW1:17:14 WWF & Beyond the Mat2:12:41 UFC2:47:18 Classic Commercial Break2:50:48 Halftime…sort of2:52:03 Japan: AJPW, NJPW, Rikidozan Memorial, Super J-Cup, BattlARTS, FMW, Michinoku Pro, Onita Pro, PRIDE FC, RINGS, AJW, GAEA, & LLPW3:43:13 Latin America: AAA, CMLL, IWRG, & IWAPR3:56:53 Other USA: USA Pro, CWF (NJ), JAPW, CZW, FWA, IWACW, NWA Nashville, MemphisCW, MPPW, & APW4:41:50 WCW6:43:08 Patreon Preview: Bruce Mitchell on Paul Heyman and Eddie Gilbert working promoters and reportersTo support the show and get access to exclusive rewards like special members-only monthly themed shows, go to our Patreon page at Patreon.com/BetweenTheSheets and become an ongoing Patron. In this Dailycast episode, Chris Maitland and Justin McClelland head to Fargo, North Dakota for Time Bomb Pro Wrestling's Damaged Goods with an emphasis on BOMB. Sure there's a very good main event with Dominic Garrini against Bryan Keith and a fine Kevin Ku vs. Jah-C match, but there's also a lot of bad booking on the undercard with a menacing reverend, comedy spots that render a match pointless, lots of heel skullduggery, and more. But, as always, we endeavor to have a good time and hope you will too. We also give a brief preview of Pro Wrestling Revolver's Sunday Fun-Bey, in advance of the first ever Wrestling Coast to Coast Live report next week. For VIP Listeners, we have a pair of matches with old favorites vs. new (to us) finds - notably The Briscoe Brothers against Mane Event in a really good tag match with really good promotional work for House of Glory and Bryan Keith against Shane Taylor in an intense match from New Texas Pro.
In this Dailycast episode, Chris Maitland and Justin McClelland are back in Tennessee for the Scenic City Invitational, an awesome two night tournament with a great variety of wrestling matches with some of the best in indy wrestling. We've got Masha Slamovich against One Called Manders in an intense hardcore brawl. Tag Partners Kevin Ku and Dominic Garrini prove best friends hit harder in a super stiff match. They question Billie Starkz's sanity. Chris and Justin also talk about going to AEW in Columbus, what they liked and didn't like about the in-person experience, and tackle Mance Warner's unexplained rocket to the near-top of the AEW ladder. Then for VIP listeners, with the tension mounting, they reveal the winner of the Scenic City Invitational in an intense four-way, plus cover AC Mack vs. BK Westbrook for the IWTV World title.

We then go to the WWF, talking about WWF & AAA hooking up to try and sell out the Alamo Dome in San Antonio for the Royal Rumble, babyfaces and heels blurring the lines more than ever before, as well as Shawn Michaels having a bad night in Poughkeepsie, New York when the fans were getting to him. (His first WWF trip to upstate NY since being assaulted in Syracuse over a year earlier, to boot.) We also talk about the birth of Samurai TV! in Japan and the impact that would have on the business there and tape collectors abroad, as well as all of the other major news there. We then go to Mexico, talking about the legendary Hijo del Santo vs. El Dandy vs. Negro Casas lucha de apuestas tearing up Arena Mexico, Raven regaining the ECW Title from the Sandman in a barbed wire match at the ECW Arena, the Nation of Domination running wild in the USWA with the debut of Queen Moesha, the beginning of the end of Paul Alperstein's AWF, and then close with WCW. A wild Monday Nitro features Scott Hall & Kevin Nash having an amazing night of commentary when nobody expected it...literally, and much more. Listen and subscribe at www.JustProWrestlingNews.com I'm Matt Carlins and this is JUST Pro Wrestling News for Saturday, July 10, 2021. A special welcome to those of you listening on WrestleMap.com. If you want to bring our updates to your website...email us: desk@justprowrestlingnews.com. We'll get into the big events coming up this weekend in a moment, but first... (STINGER: WWE) WWE has lost a top star to a major injury. Bayley will be out of action for approximately 9 months after hurting her knee. WWE said it happened during a training session on Friday. Bayley was set to challenge Bianca Belair for the Smackdown Women's Championship in an “I Quit” Match at Money In The Bank. Obviously, that will NOT be happening now. Instead, Belair's title defense will be moved up to next Friday's SmackDown - the first in front of LIVE fans since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Her challenger will be Carmella. Now...Carmella was set to be in the women's Money In The Bank ladder match. But she's now out of that match and will be replaced by Liv Morgan. The final two entrants in the men's Money In The Bank match were decided on last night's SmackDown. Seth Rollins qualified by pinning a bloodied Cesaro...and Shinsuke Nakamura is also in after he scored another win over Baron Corbin. At least three women from NXT are joining the SmackDown roster. Shotzi Blackheat & Tegan Nox debuted last night - announced simply as “Shotzi & Nox”. They were the surprise opponents for the WWE Women's Tag Champs Natalya & Tamina...and they got the win. Shotzi pinned Natalya after a senton from the top rope. The third call-up is Toni Storm. A hype video last night announced that she's “coming soon”. Jimmy Uso did appear on last night's SmackDown. He and brother Jey took a beating from Edge and the returning Rey and Dominik Mysterio at the end of the show. Jimmy Uso was arrested and charged with D.U.I. earlier this week. A formal arraignment is scheduled for later this month. We now know that WWE's Extreme Rules pay per view will be held on Sunday, September 26th...at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio. Major League Wrestling is back in front of live fans Saturday night at the 2300 Arena in bucolic and pastoral South Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It's Battle Riot III. The Battle Riot match is a 40-man battle royal with wrestlers entering in 60-second intervals. Eliminations are by pinfall, submission or going out over the top rope to the floor. The winner gets a shot at the MLW Heavyweight Championship held by Jacob Fatu. Davey Richards is gonna make his MLW debut. He'll compete in the Riot match...and he'll also go one-on-one against TJP. Richard Holliday will defend the Carribean Championship against King Muertes. Cesar Duran - the former Dario Cueto - will be in attendance in Philly. Plus, a Bunkhouse Brawl between the Von Erichs and Team Filthy's Dominic Garrini & Kevin Ku. The show will be broadcast on BeIN SPORTS starting at 10PM Eastern. (STINGER: ROH) On Sunday, Ring Of Honor presents its Best In The World pay per view. Rush defends the ROH World Championship against Bandido. Jonathan Gresham puts the Pure Title on the line against Mike Bennett. Dragon Lee challenges Tony Deppens for the TV Title. Plus, Brody King vs. Jay Lethal...EC3 vs. Flip Gordon...The Briscoes vs. Brian Johnson & PJ Black...and Josh Woods vs. Silas Young in a Last Man Standing Match. There will also be TWO matches on Hour One of Best In The World, which will be free to watch on multiple platforms: DEMONIC Flamita vs. Rey Horus...and PCO & Danhausen vs. The Bouncers. (STINGER: New Japan) New Japan confirmed Friday that its Wrestle Grand Slam show in Tokyo Dome will go on as scheduled on Sunday, July 25th...despite a new COVID-19 related state of emergency in Tokyo. The declaration will mean that New Japan will cease ticket sales for the show on July 11th. New Japan's Summer Struggle tour begins Saturday...with the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Title being defended in the main event. Sunday's show has the tag titles being defended. Tetsuya Naito & SANADA will challenge Taichi & Zach Sabre Jr. Plus, KENTA returns to action. He'll tag with Yujiro Takehashi against Hiroshi Tanahashi & Yota Tsuji. Impact's X-Division Champion Josh Alexander was on last night's New Japan Strong. He pinned Rocky Romero in the main event. Backstage, Alexander declared he's not leaving New Japan anytime soon. Pro-Wrestling NOAH has a big show on Sunday...with Naomichi Marufuji defending the GHC Heavyweight Title in the main event against Takashi Sugiura. (STINGER: WWE) Title matches and more announced during last night's NXT for the two-night TakeOver: Stand & Deliver. Night 1, on Wednesday, April 7th...will see WALTER defend his NXT UK Championship against Tommaso Ciampa. WALTER is already set to defend the UK Title the following day...against Rampage Brown on the NXT UK Prelude special. New NXT Tag Team Champions will be crowned on Night 1. It'll be a 3-way for the vacant titles: MSK vs. the Grizzled Young Veterans vs. Legado del Fantasma. Johnny Gargano will defend the North American Championship at TakeOver. Determining his challenger will be...a process. On next week's NXT there will be a 12-man Battle Royal. The final six men in that match will advance to a Gauntlet Eliminator match on Night 1 of TakeOver. The winner there gets Gargano on Night 2. Night 2 will also see an NXT Cruiserweight Championship Unification Ladder Match between Santos Escobar and Jordan Devlin. The main event on last night's NXT was a face-to-face between Adam Cole and Kyle O'Reilly. Those two will meet in an Unsanctioned Match on Night 2 of TakeOver. Earlier in the show, Roderick Strong said both Cole and O'Reilly can “go to hell”. Jessi Kamea was pulled from a match for the NXT Women's Tag Titles. Mercedes Martinez took her place alongside Aliyah, but they could not beat Shotzi Blackheart and Ember Moon. Aliyah took the pin. Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell declared they want the next shot at Blackheart and Moon. Bronson Reed pinned LA Knight. Raquel Gonzalez & Dakota Kai beat NXT Women's Champ Io Shirai and Zoey Stark. Omega returned later in the show...after the Lucha Bros. & Laredo Kid beat the Young Bucks and Brandon Cutler. Omega attacked Laredo Kid. Then, he gave the Bucks one last chance to share a Too Sweet with him. The Bucks refused and walked out. That left Omega alone to suffer a double superkick from the Lucha Bros. Darby Allin pinned John Silver to retain the TNT Championship in last night's main event. Sting was on hand to keep Dark Order in line. After the match, there was a wild brawl - with Sting, Allin and Dark Order joining forces against Matt Hardy's faction. Silver tweeted after the show that his “shoulder is messed up”, but the “doctor doesn't think it's too serious”. Also last night, Tay Conti upset Nyla Rose - pinning her after hitting her hammerlock DDT. Rose and Vickie Guerrero were poised for a post-match attack, but AEW Women's Champ Hikaru Shida ran out to even the odds. That's when The Bunny entered the fray...and attacked Shida and Conti. AEW announced a new reality show starring Cody and Brandi Rhodes is coming to TNT. AEW will run the first non-televised “house show” in its history - during WrestleMania week. It'll be held at Daily's Place in Jacksonville...on Friday, April 9th. (STINGER: Impact) Impact is moving the date of its Rebellion pay per view to Sunday, April 25th. Kris & David are joined by Dominic Garrini (@dgarrinibc) to discuss the week that was December 19-25, 1997. We talk about a wild week of MMA taking place in Japan featuring UFC Ultimate Japan, Pancrase, & RINGS with the UFC having a wild show in many ways. We also discuss about Sgt. Slaughter trying to stir up dissension in DX on RAW and how that worked out for him, ECW & FMW working together for major shows, a wild scene in Tijuana featuring Konnan and friends, ECW finally getting its PPVs on Time Warner Cable, and, of course nWo Monday Nitro in Macon, Georgia. Kris attended that show, which featured the biggest surprise that anyone could've ever wanted. Dom was awesome as a guest, so everyone listen to this show ASAP!!!!! From the cavernous Heritage Room in beautiful Chattanooga, Tennessee, it's the first ever live in person Between The Sheets podcast! Kris and David go over how night one of the tournament went, and are then joined by the former Mr. Delicious, Matt Griffin, to talk about everything from producing the shows to when Bix got him heat in NWA Wildside. After a break, we're joined by SCI entrant Dominic Garrini to talk about his relationship with the show, memorializing our mutual friend Chris "Chandler Biggins" Bryan, adapting Brazillian Jiu Jitsu to pro wrestling, going to seminars and tryout camps, and much more in a candid interview. Also, friends of the show like Keith Harris, Chris Wilcox, Steven Louis Lerner, and Papa Hales all make cameos. We had a blast, so check it out and join us next year if you didn't make the trip this time!
