Live from backstage at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia, we chat with Rachel Bomeli, Vice President of Facility Operations for the facility. We join Rachel the morning after a big show the previous night and learn all about this truly unique venue which features a wide array of architectural styles. We talk about the design of the theatre, their early plans as the venue approaches its centennial in five years, and how theaters often provide interesting perspective in venue stewardship and preservation. We learn how Rachel got her start in live events – from an interest in the industry during her time at Michigan State to a spontaneous move south with a friend that led to a job with Broadway Across America. We talk about her time at Fox Theatre and how her role has developed over the years, allowing for professional growth and exciting challenges. We talk about the city of Atlanta, where the Event & Venue Marketing Conference will be in 2025, and its place in the live event landscape with its numerous venues. Please Note – Stick around to the end of the episode to hear some audio of Rachel touring us around the venue as we discuss: different rooms, the recent Andre 3000 show, beautiful plaster molding, a hidden porch overlooking Ponce De Leon Ave, and lastly a visit to their VERY impressive climate-controlled archive room. In 1999, Stephen Heywood, who was 29 years old at the time, was diagnosed with ALS. His family was devastated when they learned that there were no treatments that could slow or stop his disease. His brother Jamie decided that he had to do something about it, founding the organization that would eventually become ALS TDI – the world's first nonprofit biotech – in the basement of his parents' Newton, MA home. The first hire Jamie made as he worked to get this new organization off the ground was Rob Bonazoli. In those days, Rob was responsible for, in his words, “everything non-scientific.” Part of this included building the team that would carry out Jamie's lofty research goals. Many of the people he helped recruit at that time are still with the organization twenty-five years later. Two of those early employees were Ken Thompson, now ALS TDI's Vice President of Facility Operations, and Fernando Vieira, our CEO and Chief Scientific Officer. Today, on Endpoints, we're joined by Rob – as well as Ken and Fernando – to talk about what it's been like to see ALS TDI grow from its humble beginnings to one of the world's leading ALS research institutions.Support the show: https://www.als.net/donate/See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Welcome back everybody to the Self Storage Income Manager Podcast! Whether you're running a storage facility all on your own, or you're a part of a team running a storage facility, documentation is extremely important. Tenant leases, accounting, tenant notes, maintenance task lists and schedules… the list goes on and on of everything that we have to keep track of at our storage facility. There are a couple reasons why documentation is so critical. For one, it helps you to provide communications to yourself or your team regarding a person, situation, or task. Secondly, it serves as a record. Having record of people, situations, and tasks is equally important. These records can be used as a reference, training material, evidence for law enforcement, and ammo for a court case. Today we wanted to share with you guys our very own 4 step process of documentation regarding tenant interaction. These steps help us and our managers ensure that everything being documented is relevant, clear, and detailed enough to provide insight on an ongoing interaction with a tenant. We also have an incredible guest with us on the podcast today. Our very own Jennifer Miller jumps in to help shed light on our documentation process with her enormous amounts of self storage management experience. Kick back and enjoy. Thanks everybody!
