L'idée paraît incroyable : créer des processeurs à partir de neurones humains afin de répondre aux besoins en puissance de l'intelligence artificielle ! C'est le projet de l'entreprise suisse FinalSpark. Explications de son co-fondateur, Fred Jordan. ———Les bioserveurs basés sur des cellules de peau transformées en neurones de la société FinalSpark pourraient consommer jusqu'à 10 000 fois moins d'énergie que les systèmes d'IA actuels, selon Fred Jordan. Ce projet, encore au stade de la recherche, vise à développer des supercalculateurs pour les réseaux neuronaux de l'intelligence artificielle. Sachant que le cerveau humain consomme à peine environ 20 watts, cela permettrait de mettre au point des systèmes avec une consommation d'énergie jusqu'à un million de fois inférieure, permettant ainsi de réduire l'empreinte écologique des applications d'IA. Selon Fred Jordan, cela pourrait devenir une réalité d'ici 10 à 15 ans. L'entreprise FinalSpark vient de lancer ce qu'elle appelle sa « neuroplateforme », un service informatique en ligne où les serveurs sont remplacés par des cellules cérébrales humaines. Bon, si l'idée d'utiliser des cerveaux humains comme ordinateurs a été beaucoup explorée dans la science-fiction, elle est aussi de plus en plus étudiée dans le monde réel. Evidemment, il ne s'agit pas de cerveaux complets, mais je cite « d'organoïdes cérébraux », donc des amas de cellules humaines créés à partir de cellules souches.Certains ingénieurs avaient déjà tenté de créer des ordinateurs avec ces organoïdes, comme l'université de l'Indiana à Bloomington, ou encore l'université Johns-Hopkins, mais c'est finalement FinalSpark qui est allé le plus loin en créant carrément une offre de cloud computing basée sur ces organoïdes cérébraux. Pour 500 dollars par mois, il est possible d'utiliser le langage de programmation Python pour interagir avec quatre organoïdes, chacune composée d'environ 10 000 cellules cérébrales humaines, sur les 16 organoïdes disponibles.Dans une interview datant du mois de décembre 2023, Fred Jordan, l'un des cofondateurs de FinalSpark expliquait utiliser deux méthodes différentes pour la stimulation des organoïdes, avec des électrodes ou de la dopamine. D'après lui, l'avantage des organoïdes cérébraux est d'avoir une consommation beaucoup plus faible que les puces électroniques. Selon l'entreprise, les neurones vivants consomment jusqu'à un million de fois moins d'énergie. Cette bio-informatique est donc mise en avant comme une solution pour lutter contre le changement climatique. Une neuroplateforme pourrait notamment servir à entraîner les intelligences artificielles qui sont de plus en plus complexes et gourmandes en énergie, évitant ainsi la pénurie mondiale d'électricité prédite par Elon Musk. La pasión por Jesús que nace entre los “hippies” a finales de los años 60 en California se vuelve un fenómeno internacional a principios de los 70. A partir de Escandinavia, el movimiento se extiende por el centro de Europa, pero en Inglaterra hay ya un foco importante en 1971 –el año que la revista Time fechó la Revolución por Jesús–. Tiene que ver entonces con la visita de Arthur Blessitt con su cruz a Bugbrook (Northamptonshire) –después de abrir una misión en el Sunset Strip de Los Angeles en 1968–, donde el excéntrico pastor carismático Noel Stanton comenzaría el Ejército de Jesús, pero también con el Frente de Liberación por Jesús, que nace sin relación con Estados Unidos en Hemel Hempstead, todo ello ante la creciente invasión de los Niños de Dios, que todavía se consideraban parte de este movimiento. En este episodio de esta serie de programas de radio contamos lo que pasa antes de llegar David Berg a Londres en 1972. Tras el nacimiento de los Niños de Dios como Adolescentes por Cristo (Teens For Christ) en un juego de palabras con el nombre de la organización de David Wilkerson (Teen Chalenge), que había establecido la misión en la que comienzan en la playa californiana de Huntington en 1966, el Club de la Luz (Light Club), el antiguo pastor de la Alianza Cristiana Misionera, David Berg (1919-1994) es obligado a abandonar el local que pagaba ahora el grupo pentecostal del empresario Demos Shakarian, la Fraternidad de Hombres de Negocios del Evangelio Completo. El grupo emprende un éxodo en el que Berg se va a convertir en un nuevo Moisés, que en cumplimiento de las profecías bíblicas les lleva a la tierra prometida de Texas, donde el evangelista Fred Jordan les deja establecer su Clínica del Alma, a la vez que usan el edificio que tiene en Los Angeles, a cambio de aparecer convenientemente trajeados en su programa de televisión como fruto de su ministerio. En este programa escuchamos el testimonio de algunos que estuvieron en aquella época con los Niños de Dios, así como de la propia hija y esposa de Berg (Faith y Eve), en el documental más serio y riguroso que hizo sobre la secta, una directora judía canadiense, todavía no traducido al castellano (The Love Prophet & The Children of God 1998). Oímos también la narración de Arthur Blessitt de su primer viaje con su cruz a Europa, que comienza con un recorrido por Irlanda en medio del conflicto entre el IRA y el Ejército británico en 1971. Junior pitcher Wes Wrenn is named SoCon Pitcher of the Week. The High Point, N.C., native pitched a no-hitter into the seventh inning in a 9-1 Citadel win over Davidson on Saturday. Wrenn and his teammates swept the Wildcats in weekend action, and moved into second place in the conference standings. However, mid-week losses on the road to UNCW and East Carolina have put Fred Jordan's team in another tough spot.
