It is undergoing major shifts, division and regrouping, leading to more uncertain, unstable and unpredictable developments.BRICS is an important force in shaping the international landscape. China will also work with all parties to jointly establish a BRICS Framework on Industrial Cooperation for Sustainable Development as a platform of industrial coordination and project cooperation in implementing the United Nations (U.N.) 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.-- We should expand political and security cooperation to uphold peace and tranquility. As a Chinese saying suggests, "Nothing is more beneficial than stability, and nothing is more detrimental than turmoil." The Cold War mentality is still haunting our world, and the geopolitical situation is getting tense. All nations long for a sound security environment. International security is indivisible. Attempts to seek absolute security at the expense of others will eventually backfire. The Ukraine crisis has evolved to where it is today because of complex reasons. What is pressing now is to encourage peace talks, promote deescalation, end the fighting, and realize peace. No one should add fuel to the fire to worsen the situation.BRICS countries should keep to the direction of peaceful development, and consolidate the BRICS strategic partnership. We need to make good use of the BRICS Foreign Ministers' Meeting, the Meeting of High Representatives on National Security and other mechanisms, support each other on issues concerning our respective core interests, and enhance coordination on major international and regional issues. We need to tender good offices on hotspot issues, pushing for political settlement and lowering the temperature. Artificial intelligence (AI) is a new area of development. BRICS countries have agreed to launch the AI Study Group of BRICS Institute of Future Networks at an early date. We need to enable the Study Group to play its full role, further expand cooperation on AI, and step up information exchange and technological cooperation. We need to jointly fend off risks, and develop AI governance frameworks and standards with broad-based consensus, so as to make AI technologies more secure, reliable, controllable and equitable.-- We should increase people-to-people exchanges and promote mutual learning between civilizations. There are many civilizations and development paths in the world, and this is how the world should be. Human history will not end with a particular civilization or system. BRICS countries need to champion the spirit of inclusiveness, advocate peaceful coexistence and harmony between civilizations, and promote respect of all countries in independently choosing their modernization paths. We need to make good use of such mechanisms as the BRICS seminar on governance, the BRICS forum on people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and the Women Innovation Contest to deepen people-to-people exchanges and strengthen the bond between our peoples.China would like to propose that BRICS countries expand cooperation on education, enhance the role of the BRICS alliance for vocational education, explore and set up a cooperation mechanism on digital education, and foster a paradigm of all-round cooperation on education. In addition, we also need to strengthen exchanges on traditional cultures and promote the renewal of fine traditional cultures.-- We should uphold fairness and justice and improve global governance. Strengthening global governance is the right choice if the international community intends to share development opportunities and tackle global challenges. International rules must be written and upheld jointly by all countries based on the purposes and principles of the U.N. Charter, rather than dictated by those with the strongest muscles or the loudest voice. Ganging up to form exclusive groups and packaging their own rules as international norms are even more unacceptable. BRICS countries should practice true multilateralism, uphold the U.N.-centered international system, support and strengthen the WTO-centered multilateral trading system, and reject the attempt to create small circles or exclusive blocs. We need to fully leverage the role of the New Development Bank, push forward reform of the international financial and monetary systems, and increase the representation and voice of developing countries.I am glad to see the growing enthusiasm of developing countries about BRICS cooperation, and quite a number of them have applied to join the BRICS cooperation mechanism. We need to act on the BRICS spirit of openness, inclusiveness and win-win cooperation to bring more countries into the BRICS family, so as to pool our wisdom and strength to make global governance more just and equitable.Colleagues,The ancient African continent is a reservoir of simple yet profound wisdom. One day last year, I was walking down Cashel Mall in Christchurch and I saw Finance Minister Grant Robertson. Some people wanted to take a selfie - which he was perfectly happy to do - but I heard him say first: “Hold on, I better put a mask on first or Jacinda will tell me off." Which probably sounded like a bit of a gag but I remember thinking at the time ‘yeah I bet she would'. That's because I've always considered Jacinda Ardern to be a bit of a Helen Clark. Even her mannerisms are similar. And I can see very clearly that behind the smiles and kindness talk there is a ruthless political operator there. She wouldn't be where she is today if she wasn't. And perhaps goes some way to explain why she's done nothing about that awful Labour Party bully Trevor Mallard. As I've said many times, in my honest opinion he is a bully and should've been given the flick ages ago. And, as I've said before, it is shameful that Jacinda Ardern has done nothing about Trevor Mallard. But he is obviously very useful for the Prime Minister. Awful, but useful too. That's why I'm not in the least bit surprised that we have Labour backbench MP Gaurav Sharma saying that there's all sorts of bullying behaviour going on at Parliament. He seems to be particularly concerned about the way MPs are treated by party whips and the Parliamentary Service, which provides administration support and runs the complex. And you know who's in charge of that, don't you? Yep, Speaker Trevor Mallard. Sharma is a relative newcomer to Parliament. He's only been there since 2020. But obviously he's had a gutsful already and he's written this opinion piece about it for the New Zealand Herald. I think as far as his career as a Labour Party politician is concerned, he's an idiot for doing what he's done. Jacinda will be fuming. Angry Andrew will be fuming. Even Chris Hipkins might be saying a few swear words. “Chris, that's not like you!” “Oh sorry Jacinda. I'm just really annoyed, you know. That guy's from Hamilton and we know there are bullies in Hamilton. So what makes him think he can call us bullies too? It's just not on.” I still don't quite understand why Gaurav Sharma has done what he's done. There is obviously an issue bubbling away behind the scenes and so he's decided to go public about it. Labour Party whip Duncan Webb has confirmed that there are, what he calls, “employment matters” being dealt with. And, man alive, the Labour Party machine is coming down hard on him. He's been in a bit of a stoush online with former Labour MP Darien Fenton who's been online telling Sharma she's “appalled” that he's so ill-disciplined and is “mouthing off in the media” about this. That's a direct quote from the message the former Labour MP sent to Gaurav Sharma after his article was published by the Herald. Sharma went back to Darien Fenton saying it's because of people like her that there's still a problem with bullying at Parliament. Boom! But it's not just former Labour MPs. Current Labour MPs are also trying hard to convince us that there's nothing to see here. One of them is Willy Jackson. How about this for a quote: “I have never seen it in my life. You're going to have to talk to him but I have never seen it. We are great whanau.” That's what Willie Jackson is saying. But, with respect Willie, I'm not quite sure whether you're the best person to be making that kind of judgement. I'm not saying you're a bully mate, I just suspect that you're one of the last people in Parliament that a bully would want to pick on. So, of course, you haven't seen it. And I think it is appalling that you are fobbing it off in this way. Just like I think it's appalling that current and former Labour MPs are ganging up on their MP for coming out and saying Parliament is a toxic place to work. By responding the way it is, the Government and Labour is showing that it is just as much a part of the problem as anyone else in that strange, strange place we know as Parliament. And it doesn't give me much hope that things are going to get any less toxic at Parliament anytime soon. Which is so rich, isn't it, given we hear so much weasel words from politicians about cracking down on bullying, being kind to each other, looking after our mental health. Has anyone checked whether Trevor Mallard has been wearing any blue or red bandanas recently? In case you don't know, blue is Black Power and red is the Mongrel Mob. Or, if you're in America, blue is the Crips and red is the Bloods. The reason I ask this is that the Police are apparently planning some sort of crackdown on gangs – and one of the things they're going to be targeting is intimidating behaviour. And I reckon if it's going to have any hope in hell of working, they're going to have to start at the very top and crackdown on the Chief Intimidator himself, the Honourable Trevor Mallard, Speaker of the House. Because, as we've been hearing in the news, he's been doing some weird things lately.  Irrigating the lawns – even though it's raining – and even though he's got guests camping outside. Playing music loudly at night. All night. Not inside – but outside. Real intimidating stuff. But now, he's gone above and beyond and he's picking on a poor-old 77-year-old retired man who is facing the prospect of not being allowed to go to the place he loves for the next two years. A place this 77-year-old retired man has been going to since 1979. 43 years. And now, he's been told he's been trespassed for two years and to stay away. You imagine being that 77-year-old retired man. You've paid your taxes. You've always had a smile on your dial – even when you've fallen out with your mates or been given the boot by your boss. You've always made sure that you're dressed up to the nines and you certainly haven't let yourself go. The way you've looked after your hair is a real credit and has been an inspiration for silver foxes up and down the country. You imagine being that 77-year-old retired man who, when you discovered you were getting more of the pension than you were entitled to, you paid it all back. It was nearly $20,000 – but you paid it back. All of it. You've always been the life and soul of the party. Sometimes you've kept us waiting – but you've always eventually turned up. And like every New Zealander worth their salt, you've stood up for this place. You've put this country first. New Zealand First – that's what you've always said. New Zealand first. And even though you're 77, and probably entitled to take things a bit easier, sitting in front of the TV all day is not for you. “Make sure you stay curious and try to learn new things”. That's what the ageing experts say you should be doing – even when you get to 77. And that's exactly what you've done. But the old bully boy's telling you off for it. You saw something was going on at the place you've been going to day-in, day-out for the past 43 years – the place you love. And so, you put your suit on, put a comb and some Brylcreem through your hair, and went down there and had a chat with a few people. You were curious and active – a poster boy for old age. But now, at the age of 77, you're being told off like a naughty schoolboy.  And who's the bully boy who's told you off? It's old Trevor again – waving the big stick yet again. Old Trevor – irrigation enthusiast and Barry Manilow fan. And he's told you, Winston Raymond Peters, that you are banned from going to Parliament for two years. And do you know what? I think old Trevor has well-and-truly lost it this time. And he's not just picking on you Winston Raymond Peters. He's told another ex-MP – Matt King – that he's trespassed from Parliament for two years. Former ACT MP Stephen Franks is another one too. All were banned for two years because they had the gall to turn up to the anti-mandate protest at Parliament. I said it at the time when he used the sprinklers on the protesters, that Trevor Mallard was a national embarrassment. But this latest behaviour takes it to the next level, doesn't it?  And if Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern doesn't sack Trevor Mallard from the Speaker role ASAP, then I think she will run an even greater risk of becoming a 43-year-old retired politician in a year or s...

  I'm not sure how you feel about the Universe and how things work in the world, but does the Universe speak to you? I can't tell you if the ‘Universe' stands alone or if ‘God' created the ‘Universe' and runs the show. That's so far above my pay-grade that it amounts to a pile of cash bigger than Mount Everest.  What I can say is this. We live and breathe every day in a world that is ganging up on us and trying to get our attention. The question is, are you listening? While there are many ways people seek to receive messages of guidance as we make life decisions, my favorite has always been events the occur in triplicate. If something happens three times, I pay attention. Call me hard-headed, distracted, or set in my ways, but life has taught me that wisdom tends to come in whispers - usually when our thoughts are screaming in our head and drowning out our dreams. Now, let me be clear... A friend calling three times to go out on the town doesn't count in my book. Snoozing your alarm clock three times isn't a message from the Universe that you should sleep in more. The grocery store being out of your favorite chips three times is not a sign that you should go on a diet. All that is what they call the “stuff that happens while you're alive.” So what counts? If I were to describe messages that resonate with me, it would be… 1) Seemingly random situations and people and happen in quick succession or at the same time. 2) They are different in their approach and appearance, yet each delivers a similar message. At first, it may seem disconnected, but in relation to the other messages, you begin to notice 3) The message you receive is likely something that has been on your mind, keeping you awake a night, and speaks to you. Even though you may not immediately recognize its impact, you find yourself slightly redirected in your search for answers. Your path altered. While this is undoubtedly only my description of how I know it when the Universe is ganging up on me, I have learned to allow space for a message to arrive. Whether I realize the impact or not, I have also learned that it always motivates my decisions, choices, and future actions. In other words, things change with little effort. My journey this summer is about breaking from the status quo, exploring the possibilities of life, and going with the flow as we seek a new home, lifestyle, and attitude. I don't know what journey you are on, but I bet the Universe is ganging up on your right now if you'll only pay attention.

When Siblings Parent Sometimes siblings gang up on each other.  This ganging up was a regular occurrence in our family for a few years.  The older ones were trying out their "responsible adult" personas by nit-picking the youngest.  These sort of situations can become very hard for a child to deal with.  A home needs to feel safe and allow a child to relax and be their self.  When ganging up occurs it can remove the child's ability to retreat somewhere safe and cause long term harm. Whether the ganging up is due to personality differences, parenting confusion, or other reasons, it should be addressed.  Talk to your children about what is acceptable and point out that they are bullying their sibling.  It might help to use your parental powers to tip the scales.  These are the cases where you should step in and defend the out-numbered child.  Letting everyone know that you are on the case provides an excellent example.  Better yet, it gives support to the one child while teaching the gang.
