Could your relationship dynamics be silently sabotaging your connection? We unpack the demand-withdraw pattern that subtly affects nearly 80% of relationships, as identified by Christensen and Heavey. Learn how this pervasive pattern, also known as the pursuer-withdrawer dynamic, can turn a thriving relationship into a distressed one. We promise you'll gain insights into emotional focus therapy and the significant role of attachment theory in nurturing deeper, more meaningful connections. Explore the roles of "withdrawers" and "pursuers" shaped by childhood experiences and societal norms. Discover why men often withdraw and women pursue, and how these roles create familiar yet frustrating patterns in adult relationships. By recognizing these dynamics and working towards secure attachments, couples can transform internal wounds into growth opportunities. This episode is your guide to understanding and healing the unseen forces at play in your relationship.Thankyou for listening, if you liked it, please remember to subscribe.Join our Private "Thriving relationships - Deepening connection to self and others" community: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1107209283451758/Website: https://michaelandamy.com.au/Join our free 7 day relationship challenge: https://michaelandamy.com.au/free-relationship-challengeIf you would like to book in a private discovery call with us, here is the link: https://michaelandamy.com.au/call

Summary: Brad Heavey, an experienced real estate investor, comes on the show to talk about REITs (Real Estate Investment Trusts). REITs are particularly beneficial because they provide a stabilized income stream. There are many categories of these trusts that all have different qualities and advantages, and a REIT with a diverse portfolio of properties is worth exploring, as it could have decent yields. These are low-risk areas to invest in, but they require research to find out what companies are stable and worth investing in. Tune in to hear more about how you can invest in REITs, and some of the best tips for entering this sector. Highlights: -A lot of people have decided to invest in REITs (Real Estate Investment Trusts) -When Brad Heavey became an appraiser, his niche was appraising multi-million dollar homes -As a landlord, collecting rent from a tenant can present issues. The upside of being a landlord is real estate appreciation -The benefits of REITs are that you have a stabilized income stream. -As an investor, it's best to avoid the REIT categories that you don't have a lot of knowledge on -A REIT that has a diverse portfolio of properties is one that is worth looking into further -It's important to analyze how stable a company is -Real estate is based on income and how solid that income is. This is why REITs are advantageous -The pandemic has made people think about how we can protect our future financial position and start taking steps today -REITs are a low risk area to invest in, but you have to do your research -Many REITs have gotten a free ride because rates are so low, but things could be subject to change if rates start to go up rapidly Useful Links: Financial Survival Network Your Future Financial Life (under construction)

Actor Ed Heavey from WGN America's series Outsiders joins us in studio and we get as much out of him as we can about life on Shay Mountain - but that clan is secretive! After we give him a geek quiz (!), we cover how he ended up on our show, then working on Boardwalk Empire, Daredevil seasons 1 & 2, The Dark Knight Rises, and he breaks down some of the realities of acting and stunt work. And of course we talk quite about Outsiders and how things work on the mountain, the family dynamic, filming in in the woods, and much more, but the man will simply not tell us any Farrell secrets! Plus we talk the good old days of wrestling, World Of Warcraft, comic books and much more! Then hang around afterwards as Bill and the boys go into the email bin and get into things like Table Flippers, Roaming Turkeys, why no Beatles bio pic, and answer all kinds of other wacky questions. (Outsiders opening theme music "Taker's Creed" performed by Morgan O'kane and is copyright it's respective owners.)
