Hey there Punky Peeps, Angela Bowen here the host of Punky Power: An Unofficial Punky Brewster Podcast. I have the most best amazing news ever to hit the airwaves and internet! Punky Brewster is back, a sequel show is in the works and Soleil is reprising her role of Punky. In this episode I discuss my feelings on this comeback, I'm jumping up and down excited, these are my feelings right now. The original multi-camera series, created by David W. Duclon, centered on Punky (Frye), a bright young girl raised by a foster dad (George Gaynes). In the multi-camera/hybrid reboot, Punky (Frye) is now a single mother of three trying to get her life back on track when she meets a young girl who reminds her a lot of her younger self. Wonderful Town is a 1953 musical with book written by Joseph A. Fields and Jerome Chodorov, lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green, and music by Leonard Bernstein. The musical tells the story of two sisters who aspire to be a writer and actress respectively, seeking success from their basement apartment in New York City's Greenwich Village. It is based on Fields and Chodorov's 1940 play My Sister Eileen, which in turn originated from autobiographical short stories by Ruth McKenney first published in The New Yorker in the late 1930s and later published in book form as My Sister Eileen. Only the last two stories in McKenney's book were used, and they were heavily modified. Wonderful Town premiered on Broadway in 1953, starring Rosalind Russell in the role of Ruth Sherwood, Edie Adams as Eileen Sherwood, and George Gaynes as Robert Baker. It won five Tony Awards, including Best Musical and Best Actress, and spawned three New York City Center productions between 1958 and 1966, a 1986 West End production and 2003 Broadway revival. It is a lighter piece than Bernstein's later works, West Side Story and Candide, but none of the songs have become as popular.

“Tron” (1982) era una espinita que tenía clavada la Disney. Fue una adelantada a su tiempo con su efectos generados por ordenador, pero fue un fracaso. Por ello, 18 años después estrenó su secuela-remake “Tron Legacy” (2010). La cuestión es que la taquilla tampoco fue la esperada. Sin embargo con este monográfico la quiero reivindicar sobre todo por su magistral banda sonora, compuesta por Daft Punk, una de las mejores de los últimos años. Además podrás escuchar las últimas novedades en BSO así como unos recuerdos a los recientemente fallecidos Umberto Eco, Harper Lee y quien fuera el mítico Comandante Lassard de “Loca academia de policía”, George Gaynes. Tilbage på anstalten: denne gang er De Gnavne Filmnørder et smut tilbage i 1984, hvor vi er til den stjernespækkede verdenspremiere på filmfænomenet, der vandt alle Oscars, Emmy'er, Bodil'er og Tony'er og ikke mindst Bill Clintons hjerte: vi har set "Police Academy", også kendt som "Politiskolen". Vi følger med, når de gakkede rekrutter på deres første opgave vælter byen. Det er dog ikke i denne film, at de kommer hverken på Miami-patrulje eller på mission til Moskva eller hjælper til, når borgere kommer på patrulje. I denne film bliver karakterer som Mahoney, Jones, Hooks, Hightower og Tackleberry skabt og bliver en del af alles bevidsthed, om man vil det eller ej. Denne film byder på blowjob-jokes, dyremishandlings-jokes, bøsse-jokes og ikke mindst George Gaynes som den rimeligt uvidende chef for løjerne, Commandant Lassard: kort sagt - alt godt fra havet. En enkelt af filmnørderne havde læst aftenens opgave lidt forkert og tog også tilbage med tidsmaskinen til 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989 og ikke mindst 1994, hvor han overværede premiererne på de seks efterfølgere og overlevede, så han kunne fortælle historier om det som en anden Roy Batty. God fornøjelse.
