On his weekly Chipped Ham & Football podcast, Post-Gazette Steelers insider Brian Batko welcomes NFL.com's Bucky Brooks to discuss the fallout of QB Aaron Rodgers finally signing with the team officially. Will Rodgers embrace the team's offensive identity under coach Mike Tomlin and OC Arthur Smith, which is built around a strong running game rather than a flashy passing game? Or will he use his Hall of Fame credentials to push for a more pass-happy attack built around receivers like DK Metcalf, Calvin Austin III, Robert Woods, Roman Wilson and -- possibly -- free agent additions like Amari Cooper, Allen Lazard and Gabe Davis? Our duo tackles those questions. Then Bucky explains why he likes the way GM Omar Khan has built the team beyond the QB position in recent years, investing in young players including Broderick Jones, Troy Fautanu, Joey Porter Jr. and others.
On the Monday edition of the North Shore Drive podcast, presented by Edgar Snyder & Associates, Post-Gazette Steelers insiders Christopher Carter and Ray Fittipaldo analyze moves GM Omar Khan and coach Mike Tomlin could make to solidify the roster after officially signing QB Aaron Rodgers over the weekend. Is an extension for T.J. Watt the next priority? Should they pursue a viable WR2 to play next to DK Metcalf? Would names like Gabe Davis and/or Amari Cooper fit in that role? Or could they look for a trade to add to the defensive backfield in the form of Packers star Jaire Alexander, who's being cut by the Green Bay Packers? Our duo tackles those questions and more.
Aaron Rodgers signs with the Steelers on a one-year, $13.65 million deal with $10 million guaranteed. Bob thinks the Steelers still need a second wide receiver, and it could be Lazard. Donny would like to see the Steelers sign Amari Cooper. Adam Schefter reported that Aaron Rodgers was the Steelers' third choice behind Justin Fields and Matthew Stafford. Why didn't the Steelers resign Fields?
Hour 3: Poni reacts to the bargain deal Aaron Rodgers signed with the Steelers. Is another star wide receiver about to come to Pittsburgh? And did Poni ruin Dom's Debrief?
Aaron Rodgers signed a bargain with the Steelers, so does that mean another star wide receiver is coming to Pittsburgh? Poni gets into a screaming match with a caller.
6-9-25 PM Team FULL SHOW Hour 1: Poni has had an Aaron Rodgers epiphany. Just how good were Rodgers' last few seasons? And Dan Zangrilli joins the show to talk Paul Skenes, Don Kelly, and more! Hour 2: Is it true that Aaron Rodgers was actually the Steelers' Plan C? Dom says that Bob Pompeani has hit rock bottom. And Jeff Hathhorn joins the show for an Oakmont Minute. Hour 3: Poni reacts to the bargain deal Aaron Rodgers signed with the Steelers. Is another star wide receiver about to come to Pittsburgh? And did Poni ruin Dom's Debrief? Hour 4: Poni wonders why people who don't want Aaron Rodgers are also criticizing Mike Tomlin. Ed Bouchette joins the show to talk Rodgers, the Rooneys, Pickens, and more! And who is the greatest play-by-play announcer of all time?
On the Friday edition of the North Shore Drive podcast, presented by Edgar Snyder & Associates, Post-Gazette Steelers insiders Christopher Carter and Brian Batko react to the team's signing of QB Aaron Rodgers, which finally became official on Thursday. Does OC Arthur Smith have the secret to unlocking the former NFL MVP's full potential? Does he have enough weapons to work with in the form of receivers DK Metcalf, Cavlin Austin III, Roman Wilson; tight ends Pat Freiermuth and Darnell Washington; and running backs Jaylen Warren and Kaleb Johnson? Or will the team still need to add outside names, possibility including Keenan Allen and Amari Cooper? How much sway will Rodgers hold in the organization? Will Smith defer to him in playcalling? Will coach Mike Tomlin include his thoughts in the game plan? And will he have GM Omar Khan's ear regarding possible roster moves? Our duo tackles those questions, then ponders whether this team now has what it needs to compete with the Kansas City Chiefs, Buffalo Bills and Baltimore Ravens to compete atop the AFC.
Post-Gazette sports columnist Paul Zeise reacts to the day in Pittsburgh sports news live around 5 p.m. He gives his thoughts on news that former Buffalo Bills WR Gabe Davis is set to visit the team this week. Is he the right WR2 to play next to DK Metcalf instead of the traded George Pickens? Would Roman Wilson and Calvin Austin III be able to push him for time? How will he mesh with QBs Mason Rudolph and Will Howard? Or possibly Aaron Rodgers? And would GM Omar Khan and coach Mike Tomlin be correct to pursue him instead of names like Keenan Allen and Amari Cooper, who are also available? Paul tackles those questions and more.
On today's episode of The Bill Barnwell Show, Nate Tice joins the show to discuss the Miami Dolphins engaging in trade conversations with the Pittsburgh Steelers involving Jonnu Smith, whether Aaron Rodgers will land in Pittsburgh, and if Jalen Ramsey makes sense in Dallas. Then, they will break down if Kirk Cousins remains in Atlanta as a backup quarterback and where Keenan Allen will be most effective. 1:51 Jonnu Smith trade rumors 8:00 Aaron Rodgers 12:20 Jalen Ramsey 21:10 Kirk Cousins 26:10 Keenan Allen 31:44 Amari Cooper 36:45 Jedrick Wills 40:02 Will Hernandez 44:03 Matt Judon 47:41 Stephon Gilmore 55:40 Kyzir White Learn more about your ad choices. On this episode of Talking Buffalo, it's another edition of The Podbag, chockfull with submissions from listeners that Patrick Moran is responding to, including painting a picture of what would be the ultimate Buffalo Bills most optimistic "what if" scenario for 2025.There's 32 teams in the NFL banking on or at least hoping for the most optimistic what if scenarios for their teams to achieve the most success, but few around the league have a roster as deeply talented as the Bills, led of course by the reigning NFL MVP at quarterback. A listener of the show submitted a bunch of factors that if they fall Buffalo's way, this would be the year they finally get over the hump and bring a Super Bowl to Buffalo. Among those discussed besides the obvious health factors is Dalton Kincaid and Keon Coleman taking a big step on offense, Joey Bosa finding the player he was early in his career with the Chargers, Max Hairston being the real deal and Cole Bishop having a significant step forward in his sophomore campaign.Patrick keeps the party going to on the what-if scenarios---citing Joe Brady learning from what Patrick perceives as a meltdown in the AFC title game in addition to Josh Palmer giving Buffalo more at wide receiver than Amari Cooper did.Other submissions also discussed include examining if AJ Epenesa is just another guy on the Bills roster, the Bills bye week coming at an opportune time for the defense, chastising recurring guest Matt Warren for picking Miami to beat Buffalo in Florida this season and Miami "poser" head coach Mike McDaniel. Also, a regular listener takes a stand against the Sabres hatred and defends his favorite team. That plus Mitch Marner, WNBA, a weekend trip food recommendation for a Buffalo trip and much more.Major props to Talking Buffalo sponsor, Sonny Red's at 1841 Abbott Road in Lackawanna, just minutes from Highmark Stadium. We consider them THE most underrated spot for wings, pizza and other great food in Western New York plus it's a great place to drink and have a great time.Special thanks to local Buffalo band, Orange Zest for allowing us to use their awesome single, “Old Friends” as the new official intro music for Talking Buffalo. On the Friday episode of the North Shore Drive podcast, presented by Edgar Snyder & Associates, Post-Gazette Steelers insiders Christopher Carter and Brian Batko ponder WR2 options for GM Omar Khan and coach Mike Tomlin following the George Pickens trade to the Dallas Cowboys. Should the team sign a big name like Keenan Allen, Amari Cooper or Gabe Davis to line up across from DK Metcalf this season? Should they make a trade for a name like Allen Lazard if Aaron Rodgers follows through on signing to play QB? Or should they look internally to names like Calvin Austin III, Roman Wilson and Robert Woods? Our duo tackles those questions, then offers reactions to the team's 2025 schedule -- released this week -- that includes a tough late-season stretch against the Bills, Ravens and Lions.
On the Monday episode of the North Shore Drive podcast, presented by Edgar Snyder & Associates, Post-Gazette Steelers insiders Christopher Carter and Ray Fittipaldo react to GM Omar Khan's comments about his receivers at rookie minicamp over the weekend. Does he really believe in the group as constituted, following the trade of George Pickens to the Dallas Cowboys? Could Roman Wilson, Robert Woods and Calvin Austin really provide the necessary production behind DK Metcalf? Is Khan sending more smokescreens with an eye toward free agents like Keenan Allen and Amari Cooper? Our duo tackles those questions and more from rookie camp. What should we make of Will Howard's impressive practice performance? Can he push Mason Rudolph and possibly Aaron Rodgers come training camp? Or be a starter for this team in the future? And what difference will Trey Sermon make in the backfield next to names including Kaleb Johnson, Kenneth Gainwell and Jaylen Warren?
In this NFL Opinions of the Week, Kevin and Austin talk about Keenan Allen and Amari Cooper. Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
Steelers correspondent Mark Kaboly from The Pat McAfee Show joined the show. The guys asked Mark about the big news of the week and everyone that was surrounding the trade of George Pickens to the Cowboys. Mark suggested that things were way uglier behind-the-scenes with Pickens than we realize. Does Mark believe in what was said by Omar Khan about the state of the WR room? Mark claims Aaron Rodgers may not even know Pickens got traded. Mark likes Amari Cooper the most out of the available receivers. More w/ Mark – Poni got upset since the other 3 of us talked wrestling for a moment. Does George Pickens think he can hit big in the open market next offseason? More w/ Mark – Will Howard has signed his deal with the Steelers. Mark said there wasn't much to see on the first day of rookie minicamp since guys don't do a ton, but said Howard passes the ‘off the bus' test. Mark thinks Kaleb Johnson looks more like Le'Veon Bell than Najee Harris. Mark said Yahya Black carries the weight better than he expected. Mark raved about the look of Jack Sawyer and said Pittsburgh will love another ‘meathead linebacker.' The guys discussed a tweet from Cam Heyward about an hour ago. We also talked about Bill Belichick and the latest with JORDON. Then the conversation turned to sports movies and why Mark hates them.

On the Wednesday episode of the North Shore Drive podcast, presented by Edgar Snyder & Associates, Post-Gazette Steelers insiders Christopher Carter and Ray Fittipaldo react to the team's decision to trade WR George Pickens to the Dallas Cowboys. Why would GM Omar Khan and coach Mike Tomlin make this move now? After the NFL draft? If they thought they might trade Pickens, why didn't they draft a starter-quality receiver to pair with DK Metcalf? Could the team still sign a free agent like Keenan Allen or Amari Cooper? And could internal options like Calvin Austin III, Robert Woods and Roman Wilson step up? Our duo tackles those questions and more beyond the receivers room. How might the deal impact the team's pursuit of Aaron Rodgers in NFL free agency? And is the team clearly signaling an interest in acquiring a QB in the deep 2026 draft, the could include names such as Arch Manning, Drew Allar, Nico Iamaleava and LaNorris Sellers?
Hour 3 with Bob Pompeani and Joe Starkey: Dan thinks a significant change could be made any day with the Pirates. The reaction on postgame shows has been sad, depressing, and frustrating for the fanbase. Mark heard it was Mike Tomlin's decision to move on from Pickens and the leader in the move. Mark wouldn't be against signing Amari Cooper and Cooper was hurt in Buffalo.

With the Dallas Cowboys trading for wide receiver George Pickens late Tuesday night, it got us thinking: How many options out there do the New Orleans Saints have if they want to bring in a veteran wide receiver? Keenan Allen? Amari Cooper? The newly released Gabe Davis? That's our lead topic on Wednesday's Dattitude Podcast (Ep. 371) presented by Evangeline Securities, as host Jim Derry asks for thoughts from the Dat Family, and they have plenty of them. Jim also says the spotlight on this weekend's rookie camp won't just be on quarterback Tyler Shough, but where Coach Kellen Moore and his staff will start off with first-round pick Kelvin Banks. Oh, and we look forward to seeing linebacker Danny Stutsman and a couple others. To finish it off, Man vs. Machine has a pick in one of Wednesday's NBA playoff games, and in the ‘Last Word,' we talk about the best college baseball team in Louisiana – yep, LSU. Nope, not that LSU. Rather, the LSU that's 51-0. (Head north, young man.)

Your calls on the Bills offseason and if the Bills are done adding to the starting lineup
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Joe From Queens to discuss several topics, including how with all the resources allocated to the Buffalo Bills defense through free agency and now the draft, it better be a unit that looks dramatically better in 2025.Since the 2024 season ended with an AFC title game loss at Arrowhead against Kansas City, the Bills notable offensive changes have consisted of signing Josh Palmer and Laviska Shenault while letting Mack Hollins and Amari Cooper walk. They failed to add a wide receiver until the seventh round of this latest NFL draft and did grab a primarily blocking tight end late in the fifth. Meanwhile they signed Joey Bosa, Larry Ogunjobi, Michael Hoecht, Darrick Forrest, Tre White and and Dane Jackson in free agency. They then proceeded to use their first five picks and six of the first seven on defense in the draft. It's essentially an entire defensive makeover from last year. That's fine, but as the guys discuss it better lead to consistently positive changes because if it doesn't, especially come January it should be a direct indictment against Brandon Beane, Sean McDermott, Bobby Babich and other defensive coaches. They also spend some time talking Joe's trip to Western New York over the past week, including meeting up with Patrick at Resurgence Brewing last Thursday for a Bills draft party and live podcast afterwards. That plus another Mt. Flushmore, fan comments and much more.Major props to Talking Buffalo sponsor, Sonny Red's at 1841 Abbott Road in Lackawanna, just minutes from Highmark Stadium. This thought-provoking question kicks off a riveting episode of The Ben and Skin Show, where hosts Ben Rogers, Jeff “Skin” Wade, Kevin “KT” Turner, and Krystina Ray dive deep into the aftermath of the NFL draft and the Dallas Cowboys' strategic moves.Join the crew as they dissect the Cowboys' draft choices, including the surprising decision to bypass a wide receiver in favor of strengthening other positions. The episode is peppered with memorable quotes and humorous moments, such as Skin's playful jab at Amari Cooper, "My perception of him is that he likes football until about the middle of the season then becomes disinterested and starts looking at cars online."
6:30AM Hour 1 Jeremy White and Joe DiBiase discuss what it could have been like for the Bills without WR Amari Cooper. The guys debate how much impact he had, the other options they had, and discuss the possibility of having Cooper back.

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Matt Warren of SB Nation for their weekly chat, this time focused on counting down the Buffalo Bills players likely to be most instrumental to the team's success this coming season. To make things a little less obvious the guys disqualify Josh Allen from the equation since he's the clear but number one choice. Patrick runs down his list with Matt having insight on each player and if he agrees with where they're placed on the list, and at least a few at or near the top may surprise you.Not on the list are a handful of prominent players and Patrick explains why he doesn't have James Cook, Khalil Shakir or Matt Milano that while important, aren't in his top 10.Also, Matt has some thoughts on Amari Cooper, Von Miller and Rasul Douglas all remaining unsigned this deep into free agency as of this recording. Plus, is it now obvious that the Bills are taking a cornerback high in the draft? That, Stefon Diggs is reportedly running at full speed again, potential NFL surprises this year and much more. You can follow Matt on Twitter @MattRichWarren and be sure to check out Buffalo Rumblingsfor your (really good) daily Bills content.Major props to Talking Buffalo sponsor, Sonny Red's at 1841 Abbott Road in Lackawanna, just minutes from Highmark Stadium. What would it take for Engram to have the best tight season for a Bronco in recent history? With Cooper Kupp, Keenan Allen and Amari Cooper still on the open market, should the Broncos be interested in one of the three? Is there room in the Broncos offense for another veteran wide receiver or should the Broncos go all in on their young wide outs? What kind of reception will Mikko Rantanen get when he returns to Ball Arena in a Dallas Star sweater? Will Rantanen get booed? Will he get a video tribute? Are Zach and Phil ok with Rantanen’s plans to have dinner with his former teammates in Nathan MacKinnon and more? The Nuggets got punked by the Timberwolves for the 5th straight game against Minnesota, is this a matchup the Nuggets should be worried about in the playoffs? Where was Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr.?
SportsDay Insiders Kevin Sherrington, Evan Grant and David Moore discuss [00:20] the Cowboys' free-agent signings this week, what's left to do and how it impacts the draft. David expects they'll still add a couple of veterans; maybe even reunions with Amari Cooper and Stephon Gilmore. Kevin says the loss of Jourdan Lewis and needs in the secondary make Texas' Jahdae Barron a logical first-round pick. [18:55] Evan notes that, after the Yankees' loss of Gerrit Cole, the Rangers are now the favorites in the American League, according to one baseball site. [35:03] And the guys look at the race between the local GMs, highlighted by a hilarious illustration from The Dallas Morning News' Michael Hogue. Learn more about your ad choices.
