Adult entertainment is one of the oldest industries in history. Whether we recognize it as a part of society or not, it exists, and so do the sex workers who earn income through this. Being in this profession raises stigma, discrimination, and disrespect. And this is why there are very few who cater to their financial planning needs. In this episode, we go back to California and its stigmatized ecosystem, with Lindsey Swanson who made it her mission to create an incredible financial support system specifically for sex workers. As the CEO of Stripper Financial Planning, Lindsey offers quality financial advice while protecting her client's dignity and rights at the same time. Discover how really seeing the people in the adult entertainment industry can inspire your financial savvy and also broaden your perspective. This week, I sit down with my book proposal coach turned friend, Richelle Fredson to unpack her journey with unlearning perfectionism. It's a topic that all too many of us can relate to and I know you are going to love this conversation with Richelle. In this powerful episode, Richelle and I get into the ways that the seeds of perfectionism are planted early in us as women, how it shows up in every facet of life. With Richelle and I both celebrating our glorious 40s, we reflect on how perfectionism can't take up any more space than it already has in our lives. Richelle Fredson, book publishing consultant and the “six-figure book deal coach,” knows all the angles of the publishing biz. An industry vet, she spent 15 years at Hay House Inc., most recently as the Director of Publicity and Book Marketing, as well as Acquisitions. She now works with aspiring and existing authors who are looking to expand their business, create an impact, and shift the current dialogue. Her expertise, paired with her sharp instincts, has helped hundreds of authors create impactful and marketable book concepts and proposals, resulting in millions of dollars in publishing deals with top publishers. Her recent clients include Farnoosh Torabi, Chrissy King, Jannese Torres-Rodriguez, Jen Winston, Dr. Vanessa Marin and more. Richelle brings a unique gift to the table: she's been on both sides of the deal and knows what publishers and authors are looking for and how to get it. Through this lens, she guides authors as they anchor their stories and amplify their expertise to make a greater impact. She's also the host of the Bound + Determined podcast where she lifts the veil on book publishing through education and interviews. If you want to learn more about Richelle and her Book Publishing Roadmap, head over to www.richellefredson.com to get insight on how to clarify YOUR book idea, what agents and publishers are looking for, and how to begin your book proposal!

Jannese Torres-Rodriguez has found her mission in creating financial literacy for the Latinx community. When Jannese left her high-paying 9-to-5 job, she knew she wanted a life for herself that revolved around freedom. So she learned how to blog, to create successful side-hustles (that would soon become her main hustle), and did everything she could to better her financial literacy. In the process, she became a personal finance expert, leading her to start Yo Quiero Dinero, a podcast specifically devoted to educating Latinas and people of color on finance. Jannese has a really critical perspective for anyone working in finance to know. She touched on: The history of BiPOC communities and the financial industry Creating a diverse team Working with communities of color The importance of representation in the industry Jannese has a social media presence that is both informative and fun — she even has her own food blog! Today's episode features Jannese Torres-Rodriguez who walked away from a successful career to focus on entrepreneurship full time. It wasn't an overnight success though, and it wasn't without some trial and error. After niching down and putting in a ton of work, her food blog, Delish D'Lites, started to take off (we're talking multi- six figures). Her story doesn't end there though. Most people assume wealth is built from a singular source, but the most successful people have multiple streams of income. 2020 was the year of the side hustle. People started to find ways to monetize their hobbies, create services, and capitalize on their talents. While some people are just now catching on, today's guest, Jannese Torres-Rodriguez, was ahead of the curve. It all began with a food blog she started for fun that has turned into passive income for her $320,000 salary composed solely from her various “side hustles”. Before the start of her money journey, Jannese was on the traditional path to what most would consider the ideal type of success. She not only graduated from college but got her master's in pharmaceuticals and landed a job that led to her dream, a six-figure salary. Despite this, she was still unhappy and soon realized she was unaligned with the power of money. Over time, she made several lifestyle changes and started learning about financial independence. Using what she learned, Jannese finished paying off her $57,000 student loans and became debt-free in February of 2020. After 5+ years of accruing income from her food blog, Jannese discovered she could make her side hustles a full-time business and finally be fulfilled by the work she was doing. She began a podcast about financial independence that aims to help people of color learn more about financial freedom. She also does virtual workshops, digital courses, and brand partnerships as well as several other services that contribute to her salary. Jannese is a perfect example that you don't have to give up what you love to make money, you just have to capitalize on it. In This Episode We CoverHow to find financial independence, even if you're in a lot of debt How to minimize excessive spending while still enjoying your money Becoming a full-time entrepreneur and managing the struggles of being self-employed Outsourcing work and its importance especially when you're stretched thin Dealing with Imposter Syndrome and overcoming shyness The value of diversifying your income and why it's becoming more popular Finding your niche target market, even if you don't think you have one And So Much More!See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
