When Tom Egan walks a homeowner through the math—“If your house is worth a million dollars and you owe five hundred thousand,” he says—the traditional options surface quickly: load the balance sheet with a costly home‑equity loan or sell and hope you can find somewhere new to live. That binary choice, he explains, is exactly what Hometap set out to upend. The company's flagship home‑equity investment lets owners “access the liquidity in their home without having to sell or take on debt,” Egan tells us.The mission “to make homeownership less stressful and more accessible” shapes his every decision. By giving capital in the form of equity, Hometap leaves monthly payments unchanged and can even “improve your credit if you use it to pay down debt.” The concept, first sketched by founder Jeff Glass, resonated immediately with consumers; Hometap has completed “18, 19 thousand of these” transactions so far, Egan tells us.Yet the CFO is careful to frame the product as a beginning, not an endpoint. He calls it “a product, not the product,” an opening move toward a platform of offerings that address the full arc of ownership. Growth, he notes, is already visible as other operators enter the market—a sign of “enormous upside.”Egan's narrative reveals a strategist who sees finance as empowerment. By replacing debt with shared success, he aligns the homeowner's peace of mind with Hometap's own performance, turning equity itself into the most flexible currency a family possesses—and signaling a new era for consumer housing finance.

When animals are your livelihood, keeping them happy and comfortable is a part of the job. Today we’re exploring one of the many ways dairy farmers prioritize animal welfare to keep the farm profitable and productive. Jeff Glass joins us from Best Footing Concrete and Grooving out of Strum. His job is to ensure cows don’t slip on wet concrete or hurt their feet on surfaces that are too rough. He says barn floors encounter a lot of wear and tear, water, and manure, so slipping is common if there’s no traction. After being drafted, Jeff went over to play in the KHL and he shares how it helped his game immediately including his mentality. Fast forward to 32 years of age, Jeff touches on his first NHL game for the Chicago Blackhawks against Connor McDavid where he won the game with Patrick Kane getting the game winning goal. He was told about this first start at 2:30am the day before and shares what his mindset was at the time. Jeff shares fantastic advice for goalies including his biggest takeaway from the NHL and the goals he made after making it to the show. Jeff talks about how important it is to be a teammate first and how he deals with different pro goalie coaches. Pete and Jeff dive into how to train depending on the time of year and how important it is to have an open mind. Age old advice is dropped by Jeff around functional movement, training to be efficient and doing everything with a purpose while fielding intriguing questions from current hockey goalies.Goalie Mindset Academy (30 Day Free Trial): https://www.goaliemindsetacademy.com/Daily Insight and Tips: https://www.instagram.com/goalie_mindset/Listen to other podcasts: https://www.petefry.net/podcastStay up to date with everything at https://www.petefry.net/

Episode 124 of the InGoal Radio Podcast, presented by The Hockey Shop Source for Sports, features an in-depth conversation with Jeff Glass, the former World Junior Championship gold medal winner who took a 7-year detour through Russia before making his NHL debut 13 years after being drafted and began a transition into coaching while playing with the Anaheim Ducks' AHL affiliate in San Diego last season. In the feature interview, presented by Sense Arena, Glass shares his unique path from junior hockey stardom and being a third round pick of the Ottawa Senators, to starting in the ECHL before choosing to go overseas, and how representing Canada while playing in Russia ultimately led him back to give the NHL one more shot. He tells us how a mindset exercise he did with Pete Fry to plan his path to the NHL played out almost to the day for his debut with the Chicago Blackhawks, has us laughing at stories of goalies using Yoga blocks -- yes Yoga blocks -- in their equipment to look bigger in the less regulated equipment world of Russia, and offers incredible insights into how all those experiences help shape his philosophy now as a coach and as he began to shift into more of a mentorship role while still playing last season. All that plus another trip to The Hockey Shop to talk about the new Bauer 940 and 950 masks, and how you can save big on the old 950X:

Jeff is a remarkable guy with a remarkable story, hear him tell it and you'll learn along the way how he thinks about hiring, scaling a business, the important difference between execution and strategy problems, and why Hometap may just end up being the single most important thing he's done so far. In this 77th Puckin Hostile Shoutcast (the Blackhawks Legend Paul Coffey episode) Gatekeeper, Fatrick, Bryan, Norton and Shoutcast favorite John Jaeckel from http://www.HockeyBuzz.com discuss the highly uninspiring and disappointing Trade Deadline. The, now famous, jagtastic asshattery includes: -#HesOurPresident is born -The team does their first post Hawks game podcast following the Pens game. -Bill Paxton passes away, and Gate pulls some clips as a tribute. -A trip back in time with Prehistoric Spongebob, aka Pavel Vorobiev, and Mikhail Yakubov -Blackhawks sign goalie Jeff Glass, and re-sign the dopey duo of Rozsival and Tootoo -Blackhawks acquire Tomas Jurco and Johnny Oduya. -We discuss some of the league wide trades. -Hawks played some games vs the Oilers, Sabres, Wild, Coyotes, Blues and, of course, the Penguins -Some late listener questions -And of course, as always, an abundance of extremely inappropriate references and jokes in incredibly bad taste
