Würde man mit diesen Daten eine Künstliche Intelligenz füttern, könnte die ziemlich genau berechnen, wie hoch das individuelle Unfallrisiko eines Fahrers ist – und damit auch, wie hoch der Beitrag für die Kfz-Versicherung ausfällt. Was technisch in naher Zukunft möglich ist und ob das zu mehr Gerechtigkeit und weniger Unfällen führt, diskutiert der F.A.Z-Podcast D:Economy mit einem Mann, der allein in Deutschland rund neun Millionen Kraftfahrzeuge versichert: Frank Sommerfeld, dem Vorstandsvorsitzenden der Allianz Versicherungs-AG. Schon heute bietet die Allianz einen Telematiktarif an, der Kriterien wie vorausschauendes Bremsen, moderates Beschleunigen und das Vermeiden einer Risiken mit einem Bonus auf den Versicherungsbeitrag belohnt. Allerdings kann der Versicherer dabei nicht auf die Daten in den zahlreichen Bordcomputern zurückgreifen, der Fahrer muss eine App auf dem Mobiltelefon und ein kleines Telematikgerät mit Satellitenempfänger im Auto installieren. Mit der Umsetzung des von der Europäischen Union verabschiedeten Datengesetzes, so hofft Sommerfeld, können die Fahrer künftig entscheiden, ob sie diese Daten mit ihrer Versicherung teilen wollen. In einer Umfrage des unternehmenseigenen Zentrums für Technik hatte sich jeder zweite Autofahrer bereits erklärt, Informationen weiterzugeben, wenn er im Gegenzug bessere Leistungen erhält. Auf Künstliche Intelligenz setzt die Allianz hingegen heute schon auf anderen Gebieten. So sei bei Bagatellschäden schon heute eine Bilderkennungssoftware im Einsatz. Alles will Sommerfeld aber den Maschinen nicht überlassen, so müssten Entscheidungen über Prämien und Leistungen immer nachvollziehbar bleiben, was auf dem Stand der Technik nicht immer möglich sei. Trotzdem plädiert Sommerfeld leidenschaftlich für mehr Mut. „Wir werden nie von Anfang an eine perfekte Lösung hinbekommen“, so der Manager über Künstliche Intelligenz. „Aber wir sollten nicht so tun, als würde diese Technik nicht die Welt verändern.“

Werner Sommerfeld was born in 1929 in Hamburg Germany.  His youth was spent living under the Nazi regime.  Werner was part of the Hitler youth, mandatory for all boys. The Sommerfeld family wer members of a small congregation from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  Helmuth Hubener was a young man in the church group.  Helmuth spent many wonderful hours at the Sommerfeld home.   Helmuth Hubener is an integral part of Werner's story.  Part of the Hitler resistance, Helmuth, 17, was the youngest person tried and executed by the Nazis.  His crime was passing out pamphlets to the German people, refuting the Nazi propaganda lies about the war.  Werner's family lost everything in the war.  He eventually ended up in Utah where he raised a family with his beautiful wife, Daphne. Werner has spent time in many parts of the world for work and for his church:  Samoa, Ukraine, and Russia. Although born and raised in Germany, Werner loves America with all of his heart.  It gave him the opportunity to live the American dream.
