In this episode of Look Behind The Look, we're diving into DOC NYC, the prestigious documentary film festival in New York City. Join me I discuss the much-anticipated documentary Beyond the Gaze, which spotlights the life and legacy of Jule Campbell, the trailblazing force behind the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. This film, directed by Jill Campbell, Julie's daughter-in-law, is a powerful exploration of memory, empowerment, the beauty of living life with no regrets… and teaching others to do the same. Jill and I discuss the dangers of pigeonholing films, labeling them simply as “fashion films” for example, and how films that may seem to be about something simple and frivolous on the surface, can prove to be about SO much more.Learn about how you can see this important film here: www.julecampbell.com DOC NYC Screening Information And Follow filmmaker Jill Campbell for more about the film here on her SubstackJill's IG00:00:00 Welcome!00:03:25 Beyond the Gaze will premiere at DOC NYC on November 17th. This week Gray talks all about management, with special guest Jenny Frankfurt. Jenny Frankfurt is a film and television literary manager/producer who owns the company Highstreet Management in Los Angeles. She currently represents such writing talent as Sterling Anderson, David Madsen, Norma Vela, Joel Thomas, Malcolm Kohll, Jill Campbell, Crystal Hubbard, Phil O'Shea and others – most based in Los Angeles and the UK, but others throughout the US. She has sold television shows (both reality and fiction), features, and staffed television shows for almost 20 years. After graduating from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, Jenny began her career in representation by working at the William Morris Agency in New York, where she worked for a legendary film, tv and playwrights agent, who represented such writers as Eric Bogosian, William Mastrosimone, Warren Leight, Eric Overmyer and Jon Robin Baitz. From NYC Jenny moved to Los Angeles where she worked at ICM with clients such as Susan Sarandon, Louis Malle, Johnny Depp, Lasse Hallstrom and Will Smith. After deciding management would give her more freedom to produce and influence her client's careers, she started working with manager Rick Yorn and clients such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Cameron Diaz, Claire Danes and Benicio Del Toro. Jenny tried her own hand at producing the independent feature Johnny Hit and Run Pauline, to which Emma Thompson was attached as Executive Producer. Jenny then started working with the infamous manager Benny Medina at Handprint Entertainment, and incorporating all the time she had recently spent in London, started specializing in working with British and European clients including Spice Girl Geri Halliwell and writers, directors and production companies such as James MacInnes, Saul Metzstein, Daniel Bronzite and the production company F&ME. We learn how Windows and other Microsoft products are using Visual Studio Team Services.
In this video Donovan Brown interviews Jill Campbell, Group Program Manager who works in the Windows and Devices Group (WDG), Engineering Systems team, overseeing the process and tools Windows uses to plan work across tens of thousands of employees and an extensive portfolio of products including Xbox, Surface, Windows Store and of course the Windows operating system itself.Throughout the interview Jill will describe how Windows moved all these product teams from various tools to a unified process powered by Visual Studio Team Services (VSTS), and how VSTS scales for them along with the flexibility and customizability which enabled them to be successful in managing over 11 million work items, across 33,000 users (across all of Microsoft) and with teams varying in processes ranging from Agile through to Waterfall.

This week we are proud to have the opportunity to talk to one of the leading experts of Acroyoga. The most basic definition of this style of yoga is that it is a mixture of acrobatics and yoga. It is the rare “social” yoga in that the poses are generally accomplished with either one or more partners. This week’s guest has spent the last ten years learning and practicing under the watch of Acroyoga creators Jesse Goldberg and Eugene Poku and is now one of the most highly respected Acroyoga instructors in the world. Jill Campbell fell in love with the movement, art, and connection that Acro brings to her life and is on a quest to spread the goodness to as many people as possible. She travels all over the world bringing acroyoga to literally thousands of students and has now spread her influence by teaching the next generation of instructors. Jill is a caring, introspective, boundary pusher who is blazing the trail for Acroyoga practitioners worldwide. As someone who has practiced yoga pretty regularly throughout the last four years but has never participated in an Acroyoga class, I am so grateful for the opportunity to speak with Jill. I truly believe that there is a lot to gain from talking to highly qualified people in any field you are curious about and can honestly say that, as someone who knew nothing of Acroyoga (beyond that it looks really fun), Jill has inspired me to step outside my comfort zone and begin looking for classes around my area. I came at this interview as a complete curious newbie and probably asked some extremely surface level questions. Although this podcast is aimed at all levels of experience with this yoga practice, I believe that it will really be beneficial for all of us who have no clue what to expect from an Acroyoga class. Also, as a 8th grade science teacher, I was fascinated with the similarities seen for all teachers, whether it’s a peaceful yoga class or a public school class with goofy hormonal 8th graders. We really dig into what you can expect from a first time Acro experience, how becoming really passionate about something can change your life, her teaching philosophies and how it influences her teaching style, how the partner and social aspect makes Acro different from other forms of yoga, and a lot more!
