Hear the UK's top police dogs demonstrate the skills and qualities needed to operate at the very highest level. Courage, physical strength and agility, tracking ability, steadiness, precision and responsiveness are all tested during the UK trials. For the handlers, too, the pressure is on: competing against the best, being watched and judged by their peers. Join Kate Fairweather at the National Police Dog Trials 2025, which took place in May at the Tally Ho training grounds, outside Birmingham. Bringing together police dogs and their handlers - from Scotland to Cornwall, this is a remarkable display of what the UK’s police dogs can do in a competitive trial. Thanks to the West Midlands Police Dog Section for having Dogs with Jobs along. Also to P.C. Each week at Christ Community Church, we feature stories of what God's doing in the lives of the people who make up our church family - the story of how they came to faith in Jesus, the story of how God's currently growing them in grace, or even the story of how they're taking their faith outside and meeting needs in our community. The Stories From the Trail segment shares those stories with you. This week, CCC member Meika Hamblin tells her story of faith, and how she's leared to trust Jesus more deeply as time passes by.
Episode Notes Bruce and Jeff are joined by InvestmentNews ESG editor Emile Hallez to talk about the backlash he received in response to his recent column, ‘The Bud Light case for ESG.' On Bastille Day I sat down with the gorgeous Meika Woollard to munch on a table full of pastries and chat about her recent first visit to Paris. It was wonderful to hear about Paris from the perspective of someone visiting for the very first time, and also through the eyes of a Gen Z! Older Francophiles like me will no doubt have memories of our childhood dreams of Paris, so hearing the magic Meika experienced on her first visit there brought back the innocence of my younger self!Aussie Meika is now based in Europe with her career as a fashion model. She grabbed the opportunity to visit Paris with friends for a few days earlier this year. Before her visit, Meika was focused on mainly the touristy things, but once she got there she quickly realised there is so much more to the French capital. Meika and her friends turned first to TikTok and searched for "hidden things to do in Paris". They found a list of things to explore, picked one and caught an uber to the address. It turned out to be a cafe in Montmartre with love letters all over the walls, beautiful declarations of love written down and plastered everywhere!Meika said that when visiting Paris for the first time, it was just like falling in love! I completely agree. I fell in love with Paris on the first morning I woke there and looked out my window at the Marais many years ago. I have been falling in love with all of France ever since!**Louise Prichard is the host of the Loulabelle's FrancoFiles podcast.**Other Loulabelle's links:FrancoFile Fix on YouTubeLoulabelle's FrancoFiles Spotify Playlist Loulabelle's FrancoFiles InstagramLoulabelle's FrancoFiles website

Meet Meika! Distance runner for Stanford Track and Field and member of the Trail Team. We learn about Meika's background and what he looks to in the future for trail running. When it comes to entering the sport of trail running, there is no “by the book” path that is clear on how to best approach it. While Track & Field and road running have that clearer path, trail is something that seems like it has been more of a “figure it out” operation for those who want to develop a career in the sport. That is why Andy Wacker, professional runner for Salomon, decided to create The Trail Team; a team designed independently support and develop rising athletes into the best professional trail runners in the world through mentorship, skill development, and media exposure. On the trail team, there are 6 rising athletes who are all names destined to become some of the top names in the sport of trail running over the years. And on this episode, we feature three of those athletes, along with Andy Wacker. And in this episode, the athletes share about their background, why it's important for them to have a cross-athlete lifestyle throughout the program, and their best advice for those who want to pursue trail running. On top of that, Andy also shares the details about the Trail team, how he plans to run the program, and the why behind the organization. About the athletes featured: Anna Gibson is a collegiate athlete who runs for the University of Washington, where she anchored her team's Distance Medley Relay to the NCAA record. On the track she specializes in the 800m, 1500m and mile. She placed 5th at her first US Mountain Championships in 2021. Last year, she placed 4th at her first World Cup event in Saint Gervais, France. She aspires to compete professionally on the track and in the mountains. Christian Allen is a runner who currently runs for BYU and is a WSU alumni as well. He is a two-time All-American in Cross Country. Christian attended both Weber State and Brigham Young University. Christian holds track personal bests of 28:26 in the 10,000m and 13:34 in the 5,000m. Christian AKA Slim, is looking forward to hitting the trail circuit this summer, specifically, “the suffer fest of hammering grueling climbs”. Meikael Beaudoin-Rousseau is a runner for Stanford University, which he represented in four NCAA Cross Country Championships. In 2019, he raced internationally for the US at the U20 World Cross Country Championships in Aarhus, Denmark. His first trail race was the 2021 USATF Mountain Running Championship in which he placed 7th. In his free time, he enjoys climbing and mountaineering in the Sierra Nevada, where he holds a number of speed records (FKTs). Huge thank you to Andy, Anna, Christian, and Meikael for coming on the show! Every year, 450,000,000 condoms are sold in the United States. In this episode, we speak with Meika Hollender, the creator of the "world's most sustainable condom", and the founder and CEO of Sustain. Sustain is a line of all-natural sexual wellness products. Meika is on the Board of Net Impact, and is also the author of “Get On Top,” a guide to reproductive and sexual health. "In the consumer products space, the idea is that you're going to reinvent the product, make it more sustainable and healthier. That's what consumers are demanding today," says Meika. "We built a movement and a conversation. In reflecting, we built a sexual wellness category."
Body Positive & Planet Positive Products For Women: A Conversation With Meika Hollender, Co-founder & President Of Sustain Natural Meika Hollender is the Co-Founder and President of Sustain, the leading brand of all-natural, vagina-friendly sexual wellness and period care products. Also an author, activist, and entrepreneur, Meika has consistently made marketplace history with a myriad of product innovations in the sexual wellness space that redefine the stigmatized narrative around female sexuality.. Meika teamed up with her father Jeffrey Hollender, the Co-Founder and former CEO of Seventh Generation, to launch Sustain Natural in 2014. Speaking to the fact 40% of condom purchases were by women, the company introduced its flagship product—the world's most sustainable condom. Sustain has since grown to include wipes, lubricant, and 100% organic cotton tampons and pads as well as reusable period products. Touting the 10%4Women initiative, 10% of all pre-tax profits benefit women's reproductive healthcare organizations in the U.S. In August 2019, Sustain was acquired by Grove Collaborative, a leading digital-first brand and e-commerce platform for natural home and personal care products. Meika joined the Grove Collaborative team as Head of Communications, while remaining President & Co-Founder of Sustain. For this episode of the Impact Report, Bard MBA's Michelle Aboodi speaks with Meika about social entrepreneurship, body positivity and reframing the conversation and market around sexual wellness. Meika Hollender is the co-founder and president of Sustain, a brand of all-natural, vagina-friendly period and sexual wellness products. Meika chats with Femtastic's Katie Breen about what made her want to start what was initially a condom company, how she is motivated by "the orgasm gap" in male vs. female sexual pleasure, and why it's so important that the products we put into the most absorbent parts of our bodies are free of harmful chemicals. She also discusses how activism is central to everything Sustain does (like their part in making New York the first state to mandate ingredient lists for tampons!), and why she believes a sexual and menstrual wellness company can be a beacon for change in the reproductive wellness space.
