In this episode of the True Love Knots Podcast, our guest is Estefania Garcia. She is a dynamic and inspiring high school teacher who has made her mark as a cast member on the fifth season of the hit reality series "Love Is Blind." Estefania is known for her dedication to education and adventurous spirit that leads her to explore various cultures and landscapes around the globe. Estefania's preferences in a partner are clear: she gravitates away from individuals who exude an overbearing sense of dominance and those who neglect personal tidiness. Her quest for love is guided by her desire for genuine connection rather than superficial attributes. Today, Estefania shares her insights and experiences from the moment she decided to join "Love Is Blind," detailing the emotional rollercoaster of seeking love in such a unique format, the challenges of forming deep connections sight unseen, and the growth she's encountered both personally and romantically throughout this unprecedented journey. Standout Quotes: "It's very easy to make connections when you have no distractions, and you're solely focused on connecting with people on an emotional level." [Estefania] "For me, love is very special. I don't just go around saying I love you to everybody." [Estefania] "I never wanted to be that person who only cares about how they look, but sadly, physical attraction and chemistry are very important." [Estefania] "All the decisions that I was making, my head was where it was supposed to be, so I feel like that's why my decisions were different from the other people too." [Estefania] "Try to connect and ask all the questions that you have. Sometimes we have those questions, and we're scared to ask them, but I think it's very important for a relationship." [Estefania] Key Takeaways: Hope is a powerful motivator when it comes to taking chances on love and entering with high expectations can propel you towards finding what you seek. Understand the weight of your words, especially when it comes to expressing love. Reserve "I love you" for moments and people that truly resonate with your heart. Connections are more than just shared interests or compatible personalities; they're also about the energy and vibration that someone brings into your space. Take time for self-reflection before entering the dating scene to ensure you're not carrying unresolved issues from past relationships. Be mindful of what you share and when; revealing too much too soon can work against you. Embrace your individuality and wear it like armor. Being authentically you is not something you should ever compromise on, even if it feels like it might please someone else in the short term. Ask the hard questions that linger in the back of your mind because communication is the bedrock of any strong relationship. Allegations and complaints about working conditions, fair pay, and even covering up acts of sexual violence could force a reality TV reckoning. OG Housewife Bethenny Frankel is calling on her fellow colleagues to unionize, and last month NBCUniversal — home to such reality heavy hitters as The Real Housewives empire, and Vanderpump Rules — was sent a letter from two very high-powered attorneys investigating the "grotesque and depraved mistreatment" of its reality stars. How did we get here? sam breaks down the recent drama with legal reporter Claudia Rosenbaum. Then, he talks to someone who's seen it all firsthand: Nick Thompson, a contestant on Season Two of Netflix's Love Is Blind, who compared his experience of being on the show and finding his one true love... to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. We dive into how Love is Blind and, more broadly, being on reality TV impacted Nick and others' mental health including during filming and after filming wrapped. We discuss misconceptions about being on reality TV and what inspired Nick to cofound the UCAN Foundation. Nick discusses the mission of the UCAN Foundation and the impact it has already have. Further, we discussed Nick's passion for mental health, using his platform to discuss mental health, particularly as a man, and men's mental health. Two of Kaitlyn's favorites from this most recent season of Netflix's Love Is Blind join for today's therapy sesh and they do NOT disappoint! First, Kaitlyn talks to Bliss who is now happily married to Zack after plenty of on-screen drama. And then, another happily married lady, Tiffany, joins KB to share all the deets about her experience on the show & her relationship with Brett. This love experiment definitely left us with a lot of questions, even post-reunion. Do they feel like their relationships were portrayed accurately? How did they feel watching the show back? Who do they stay in touch with? And, what does life look like now... the good, the bad, and the ugly? Plus, Tiff and Bliss share their thoughts on the Love Is Blind reunion and how they felt about Vanessa's controversial baby questioning. Kaitlyn also puts them both through a game of “Most Likely To” about the cast and compares their answers. And of course, Tiffany and Bliss share confessions, one of which reveals behind-the-scenes details from their proposal. Thank you to our sponsors! "Happily Ever After" is one of West of Wonderland's favorite fairy tale concepts to unpack. In this week's episode, Bay and Laura discuss the most recent season of Netflix's "Love Is Blind," a show that relies on myths and fantasies about love in order to operate. Join Laura and Bay for a shockingly high level discussion of reality television, fantasies we hold about relationships, and how myths can help or harm us when it comes to making huge life commitments (like marrying someone you've only known for two months, who you met on a reality TV show, in a pod). PS. Gold stars for whoever greenlit "Disenchanted" at Disney, Bay and Laura can't wait to see it.

You've probably seen the conversation surrounding Down syndrome and abortion that recently took place on Netflix's popular dating show, “Love Is Blind.” When discussing family planning with her new fiancé, a contestant on the show stated that she would likely terminate a pregnancy if given a Down syndrome diagnosis, after seeing the “trauma” it causes a family. Here's the thing: this contestant is a pediatric speech therapist who is very familiar with children who have Down syndrome. So we have a lot to unpack here.. starting with ableist thinking, bold claims about how people with DS affect their families, Netflix's lack of acknowledgment, and feeling safe (or maybe not) at our children's therapy appointments. Remember, just because you love someone with DS (or work with them daily), does not mean you're not ableist. (Oh and if you've never seen the show, don't worry! I wanna show the 360 version of who I am instead of just an element.” Feeling Off [5:51] “I wished that anxiety and depression were taught in school so that people can understand what they're going through. You don't necessarily need to have triggers to have anxiety and depression.” Navigating Anxiety and Depression for a Long Time [10:20] “I didn't know what it was, I just thought I was abnormal and I didn't address any of it until after college. A lot of people actually relate to it so I started deep-diving. It's never too late to start that process.” Having Conversations with your Partner [15:26] “There are a lot of external factors and it is important to understand those in order to make space.” Self-Care Routines [19:06] “It is important to write them down to remind yourself of how happy it made you because it is easy to forget.” Going to Therapy [24:30] “There really is a stigma about it and medication. Kelly combines business strategy + mindset coaching to help single female entrepreneurs overcome burnout, reconnect to Self and master their self worth. Furthermore from burnout and anxiety to once & for all resigning from the "9-5" world. Kelly's mantra is "let go of what is no longer serving you to create space for new, for peace, happiness and joy". ABOUT THEIR BOOK LEAP OF FAITHFrom the fan-favorite couple of Netflix's "delicious romp" Love Is Blind, Lauren and Cameron share their engaging and accessible love advice for the modern world, the ups and downs they've experienced during their first years of marriage, and exclusive behind-the-scenes anecdotes from the pods. When Lauren Speed and Cameron Hamilton locked eyes for the first time, they were already engaged. They had no idea what to expect, having fallen in love across the divider of their pods on the daring Netflix reality show Love Is Blind. Now, in their book, LEAP OF FAITH: Finding Love The Modern Way (Gallery Books; on-sale June 15th; hardcover, $28.00), they'll take us back to the origins of their whirlwind romance to tell the definitive Love Is Blind story. Through alternating points-of-view, we discover:· What led them to the show in the first place - because they both had ups and downs in work, life, and love.· How hard it was to be vulnerable, baring their souls to faceless strangers, on television.· What their cast mates were really like, and who they're still friends with.· And how things shifted-for better and for worse-once the cameras were suddenly off and the rings were on.ABOUT LAUREN SPEED AND CAMERON HAMILTONCameron Hamilton is a data scientist from Maine who runs his own AI consulting firm, Alliance AI.
