O brasileiro Lucas Moraes está entre os 10 primeiros competidores do Rali Dakar 2026 na classificação geral, após uma semana de provas na Arábia Saudita. Competindo pela equipe Dacia Sandriders na principal categoria, a Ultimate (carros), ele terminou a sexta etapa do rali a cerca de 26 minutos do líder geral da prova, Nasser Al-Attiyah, do Catar, que corre com o navegador belga Fabien Lurquin, também em um carro da Dacia. Na quarta-feira (7), Lucas Moraes conquistou o quarto lugar na quinta etapa especial cronometrada, em um dos trechos mais desafiadores do Dakar. Após 371 quilômetros contra o relógio, Lucas ficou 3 minutos e 38 segundos atrás do vencedor, o norte-americano Mitch Gutrie, da Ford. As etapas 4 e 5, entre Alula e Hail, formaram o primeiro trecho no modo maratona do Dakar, no qual os pilotos não podem receber auxílio de suas equipes para manutenção e ajustes nos carros. A segunda maratona vai envolver as etapas 8 e 9, em 12 e 13 de janeiro. Em entrevista à RFI, neste sábado (10), dia de descanso do rali, Lucas Moraes avaliou seu desempenho nos primeiros dias de Dakar: “Eu acho que foi uma boa semana. Realmente é um Dakar muito novo para mim, porque é um novo carro, uma nova equipe, um novo navegador. Então foram alguns primeiros dias de muita adaptação, e eu diria que ainda não estou no meu limite com o carro. Acho que ainda há mais para fazer”, disse o piloto, que mudou da Toyota para a Dacia no final de 2025 e participa do Dakar com um novo navegador, o alemão Dennis Zenz. “Mas o primeiro objetivo era muito claro: chegar hoje, no dia de descanso, com os quatro carros da equipe. Nesse caso, três estão no top 10, incluindo a gente. Então, eu acho que foi uma boa semana. Acho que consegui evoluir junto com meu novo navegador e com o carro. Mas agora espero, na segunda semana, conseguir resultados ainda melhores”, completa o piloto, que tem o melhor desempenho de um brasileiro na história da prova. Ele subiu ao pódio já em sua estreia, em 2023, e venceu especiais em 2024. Em 2025, Lucas conquistou o título mundial de Rally-Raid e agora busca seu primeiro título no Dakar. “Claro que a pressão sempre aumenta, né? De você estar numa equipe como a Dacia, com a companhia de profissionais que eu tenho, com o navegador e com o nível que a gente tem, com o campeonato do mundo do ano passado”, reconhece. “Mas, ao mesmo tempo, a gente está numa posição que sempre sonhou. Então estou tentando desfrutar ao máximo e aproveitar por ter uma estrutura e crescer também como piloto, me desenvolver. Então, acho que tem a pressão, mas minha cabeça está muito mais em continuar me desenvolvendo, continuar crescendo como piloto, que é o meu grande objetivo para tentar ganhar o Dakar”, acrescenta. Dakar e Tour de France Em 2025, um problema na suspensão do carro deixou Lucas longe do pódio. Este ano, o piloto está decidido a conquistar o título que falta em sua carreira. “O Dakar realmente se tornou esse grande evento do mundo off-road, talvez como é o Tour de France no mundo da bicicleta. Você ganha o mundial de bicicleta, é sensacional, e ganhar um Tour de France é incrível também. O Dakar é muito similar nesse sentido”, explica. “Você vai sempre colocando seus objetivos. Então, quando eu estava no Brasil, era ganhar o Brasileiro, depois ganhar os Sertões. Aí, depois, ganhei um mundial e agora falta o Dakar na minha carreira”. O outro brasileiro no Dakar, Luciano Gomes, que competia na categoria motos pela equipe Challenger Racing Team, teve que deixar a prova após uma queda. Considerado o rali mais difícil do mundo, o Dakar reúne 325 veículos que percorrem cerca de 8 mil quilômetros ao longo de 13 etapas. Esta é a sétima vez que a Arábia Saudita recebe a prova, que vai até 17 de janeiro.

In our previous episode, Alisha introduced you to Anna Marie Hlavka. She was a 20-year-old woman who had been living with her boyfriend and sister at the Tudor Arms apartments in downtown Portland. On June 24th, 1979, Anna's sister Rose Ann returned home from the McDonald's where both sisters worked, and she discovered her sister had been murdered. Susan was lying across the bed, the power cord from her alarm clock radio wrapped around her neck. Investigators followed every lead, but the case very quickly went cold. What the Portland Police didn't know back in ‘79 was that the man who, 40 years later, would come up as a match via Parabon Labs forensic genetic genealogy had spent years terrorizing the state of Texas. Just beneath those, the main headline read “Woman, 20, strangled in bed here”. Paired with a photo of a young woman's face adorned with a now heartbreaking smile. Her name, was Anna Marie Hlavka.
