Hop into the station wagon for a veritable clown car of a ride into the KZMU wilds of its audio preserve. Today's guests for the 30th Ever Radio Revue are a pair of brothers who broke the radio mold. They helped listeners buy sell, trade, hawk, pawn and giveaway all kinds of items in a live call-in radio classifieds show. The Trading Post was hilarious while being remarkably efficient. Comedy team Donnie Kiffmeyer and brother Joe Kiffmeyer aka 'Fast Eddie' entertained and provided a service that really worked for Moab. It helped people find what they really needed, which very often was simply to connect. The sounds that you heard on any given KZMU Friday at lunchtime really reflected the character and spirit of this thrifty, creative, compassionate, DIY desert community. Very live! Very local! And very loved. That's right, on the latest 30th Ever Radio Revue… it's time for The Trading Post! // Vintage voices include Daven Pilling, doing his very original tune ‘River Guide on LSD,' Randy Evans as ‘Dr. Science,' Aaron Cooper, Skywalker 13, Firesign Theatres, Peter Bergman, Cassie Paup, and the producer and editor of the 30th Ever Radio Revue, Christy Williams Dunton. Music for this episode includes ‘Too Thirsty To Drink Water' by Carl Blow and ‘I Love It' by Noise Cake. // Please reach out if you have a story to share for the series. And see you next time for a spin through 30 years of the wild sound, people, and place known as Moab Community Radio.
Is there a criminal case to be brought against former President Donald Trump and his allies for what happened in Georgia following the 2020 presidential election? The third episode of “The Trump Grand Jury,” the ninth season of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Breakdown podcast, explores that possibility. A Fulton County special purpose grand jury that is investigating the issue will ultimately recommend whether criminal charges should be brought. In a letter to top state officials, District Attorney Fani Willis listed a half dozen laws the former president and others may have broken. They are: solicitation of election fraud, giving false statements, conspiracy, racketeering, violation of oath of office and making threats related to the administration of the state's elections. In Breakdown's third episode – “Is There A Criminal Case?” – legal experts discuss a number of incidents, including Trump's Jan. 2, 2020, call to Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger; his lawyer Rudy Giuliani's testimony before state legislative committees; and the slate of fake electors who met in secret at the state Capitol the same day Democrats cast Georgia's 16 Electoral College votes for Biden. As to whether Trump broke the law, it depends on who you ask. John Banzhaf, a professor of public interest law at George Washington University, doesn't think it's a close call. “Looking specifically at the Trump situation, when I read and then heard the actual tape recording of the conversation, it jumped out at me as being about as clear and specific and unambiguous evidence of a crime,” he said. But Atlanta lawyer Randy Evans, who served as Trump's ambassador to Luxembourg, doesn't see it that way. “If we narrow down to the particulars of what I understand the DA to be looking into, which is whether there's any criminal or illegal conduct, I don't even think it's really close, to be fair,” he said. Randy Evans has been prescribing ketogenic diets for years. He follows nutrient, metabolic, and pH labs and progress for women closely, but not ALL women should be on the ketogenic diet. There isn't just one diet for all of us. But we do talk about "keto lite", "dirty keto" and some of the wrong and right ways to be eating on a higher fat diet. However, some women THRIVE on a Higher and Healthier Fat Intake with Less Carbohydrates. 1. To help PCOS, energy levels, balance hormones, or even just lose weight 2. Prevent Neurodegenerative Disease 3. Potentially help with migraines, concussions as newer research comes out And Randy finds that we can go into ketosis without having to eat fat bombs or drink cream all day long ;)! I'm so excited for this episode because we clear up some of the myths about ketogenic diet, while discussing the healthier way to incorporate more fat into the diet. Why is government transparency important? Join us today as Dr. Bob Leonard goes “In Depth” with Randy Evans, Executive Director of the Iowa Freedom of Information Council.
So just to recap last week’s episode, Randy Evans, our Master's Level Integrative Dietitian, discussed that it is tough to absorb that much cholesterol or saturated fats to influence serum lipids and heart disease risk. What’s more important at reducing risk is lowering refined carb intake such as sugars bread, processed foods. In addition, eating more healthy fats such as extra virgin olive oil and omega-3’s have a favorable effect on lipids. I highly encourage you to listen to both episode 8 and episode 31 as Randy just makes it so incredibly simple when he breaks down how to eat healthy for life. It’s not as hard as you think! Dyslipidemia or a problem with our cholesterol and fats (triglycerides) is one of the top risk factors for cardiovascular disease (along with diabetes, smoking, obesity, and hypertension). There are so many contributors of dyslipidemia that we’re going to outline in this podcast and how we can use self-care approaches to prevent severe disease from occurring! With the current healthcare state, it is more timely than ever to learn how to stay healthy and prevent disease. None of us wants to be sick or pay ungodly amounts of money for tests, procedures, medicines or surgery. In this episode, we'll be discussing the top researched supplements that may lower cholesterol, insulin resistance, and risk of heart disease, stroke, and potentially diabetes. This isn't all inclusive, because we'd have about 4 or 5 more episodes to cover on just this alone!!! Supplements Discussed: 1. Berberine 2. Aged Garlic 3. Quercetin 4. Red Yeast Rice (to take or not to take??) 5. Resveratrol 6. Omega-3's 7. Niacin Have any questions or want to follow our AWESOME instagram with loads of more resources for you! This episode delves into my personal journey dealing with MEGA chronic pain and all the therapies I tried, some more evidence-based and others not as much. I discuss the therapies: nutrition, acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping, massage, myofascial release, movement, physical therapy, and supplements! But we go into the one therapy that truly can release the chronic pain (and is well studied)! And that is understanding how our emotional pain works with our physical pain pathways. It's about making the big decisions and making big changes to ultimately recover from pain. It's hard work, but necessary work. All we need to do is start with a little introspection, a little awareness, and you're pretty much there. Okay loves, we hope you enjoy this episode. I think it’s important I start sharing why I built Health Is PowHer in order to build a community and that healing is possible, and it’s not just about medicine, supplements, nutrition, and exercise (even though those are all necessary components for wellness). There’s so much more to it including the emotional pain, the disconnect from our own spiritual needs, and the incredible power we have at truly healing ourselves. I also wanted to let you that even though this episode is super personal and vulnerable, we need to share our story because the whole point of starting this podcast and this community of “us” women is to know that healing is possible and that I am an example (one of many examples) of recovering from chronic illness again and again and finally learning how to maintain being well. www.healthispowher.com Music by Balloon (Audrin Baghaie) - SoundCloud and YouTube If you haven't yet listened to episode 8 with Randy Evans, Master's level nutritionist and dietitian to get his HUGE nutrition and metabolic optimization guide, you better get to it b/c we are offering it for FREE for the month of JULY and AUGUST only!!!

What does it mean to be The Local Church? What does it look like? How is it embodied? In this episode, we dig into the first of our four core values: Bold. It's not flashy. It's not about shouting on a street corner. Jesus-like bold is something radically different. Scripture Referenced: Luke 4:16-30; Matthew 4:18-22; Mark 2:1-12 This episode was produced by the brilliant Wes Frady. Special thanks to Randy Evans for sharing a bit of his story. I was fortunate enough to interview Rick and Randy Evans, founders of Evans Brothers Coffee, during my trip to Sandpoint, Idaho. I decided to bring my podcast equipment with the feeling I would find someone interesting to interview. I ended up finding two brothers who perfectly fit what the Unbeaten Path is all about. Rick and Randy started the business in the summer of 2009. They developed their vision over long rides on Chair 6, skiing at Schweitzer Mountain Resort. They wanted to bring a new experience around coffee to the region, to create deep connections throughout the supply chain, and to bring value to the communities where they work. Learn how the brothers have built a successful wholesale operation along with cafes in Sandpoint and a recent expansion into Coeur d'Alene, and winning national awards along the way. Possibly the most compelling part of their story is how they have been able to maintain the lifestyle they originally moved to Sandpoint for, and you will learn about things like their “powder clause” that helps them do just that. On Today’s episode Randy, Rick and I discuss: Coming up with their business idea riding the chairlift throughout the season Starting the coffee business with young families and betting on themselves Overcoming the tough times building the business Finding the balance between your personal and business life Subscribe: iTunes | Stitcher Visit https://www.ubpath.com/ for a full breakdown and my 3 Big Takeaways You can find Evans Brothers Coffee at: Website: http://www.evansbrotherscoffee.com/ Instagram: evansbrotherscoffee Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/EvansBrothersCoffee
