This episode is not an anti-vax screed but simply a request for data so we can approach vaccination for SARS-CoV-2 with full informed consent. Informed consent is the foundation of medical practice. The American Medical Association Code of Medical Ethics Opinion 2.1.1 states, "Informed consent to medical treatment is fundamental in both ethics and law. Patients have the right to receive information and ask questions about recommended treatments so they can make well-informed decisions about care." Informed consent also includes the role of conflicts of interest. How does the group promoting the medical treatment stand to financially benefit?Vaccine data transparency will enable all of us as human citizens of the world to exercise our rights to give informed consent when the time comes to receive the SARS-CoV-2 vaccine.

In my clinical practice there were people who followed low fat diets or ate highly processed food full of fake fat. This led to skin changes, brain changes, dull hair, low vitamin D, and low sex steroid hormones like testosterone. These are just a few changes that can occur from following low fat diets or eating damaged plastic fats in processed food. Fat is critical to keep the human body held together and running properly. It's time to embrace real food that has generous portions of good fats like olive oil, fish, organic vegetables, and meat sources from pastured raised or free range raised animals. It's time to turn our backs on processed fake plastic fats that gum up our metabolism and make us sick.
Carbohydrates are the most abundant organic components in most fruits, vegetables, legumes, and cereal grains, and they are added as simple sugars to many processed foods to provide texture and flavor. The fundamental basic carbohydrate currency is glucose. Glucose serves as a precursor for synthesis of all other carbohydrates that are important components of body fluids, structural matrix, membranes, and cell surfaces. Carbohydrates are critical for human life but not in the overabundant destructive form of simple sugars we are awash in when eating the Standard American Diet. Let's take a tour of the science, where we are, and the path away from chronic disease.

The traditional Mediterranean Diet is characterized by a high intake of vegetables, fruits, nuts, legumes, and mainly unrefined, minimally processed grains like rice and oats; an abundant fat intake from virgin olive oil, through salads, traditionally cooked vegetables, and legumes; a moderate consumption of fish and shellfish, a low consumption of meat and meat products; with the consumption of wine during meals. Fermented dairy products (cheese and yogurt) are allowed in moderate amounts. The Mediterranean Diet is NOT the Standard American Diet. We will see why that is and why you should make the switch today.

Qi Chen revealed the mechanisms of action for IVC. The ascorbate-generated peroxide is essential in exerting anti-tumor effects. IVC is multiple-targeting and causes genotoxic and metabolic stress that make cancer cells more susceptible than normal cells. The differentiated sensitivity has a root in the Warburg Effect.Qi's research on IVC and cancer treatment has been widely recognized by the academic and scientific society. The work has been featured in prestigious journals, and reported by national and international health media.Qi Chen's lab documented that the combination of IVC with chemotherapies had synergistic effects in tumor inhibition. With collaboration with clinicians, Qi translated the positive animal studies into clinical trials. A Phase I/II study in stage III and IV ovarian cancer patients showed that adding IVC to standard platinum/taxane chemotherapy was safe and well-tolerated. In addition, it reduced toxic side effects associated with chemotherapy. Time to disease relapse/progress trended towards prolongation. We also conducted a Phase I/II study in locally advanced and metastatic pancreatic cancer. IVC did not interfere with pharmacokinetics of chemotherapeutic drugs, and potentially improved progress free survival.

In Part 3, Jeanne Drisko MD, an expert in the administration of intravenous vitamin C, will explore its use in cancer. Dr Drisko will talk about what to add to the bag of IVC and what not to add when preparing to treat cancer patients. This includes glutathione and alpha lipoic acid additions on the day of administration of IVC and the use on alternate days.
I am Jeanne Drisko, MD, a professor emeritus at the University of Kansas Medical Center. I have spent my academic career conducting translational research in intravenous vitamin C. Today we will clear up outdated misconceptions and old prejudices that have followed the use of intravenous vitamin C for cancer. When vitamin C is given in the vein it bypasses tight control of absorption at the gut and becomes a drug. While it may retain some of its vitamin-like properties, it now becomes a drug and a prooxidant. As with any drug, dosing and infusion rates are critical. The practice of intravenous vitamin C will be more understandable for practitioners and patients alike.
Your host, Jeanne Drisko, MD, will take you on a journey to understand how intravenous vitamin C came into use. Dr Drisko is a translational researcher exploring the efficacy and mechanisms of actions of IV C used in patients with disorders like cancer and infection. The history will explore the discover by Albert Szent-Gyorgyi, early research by Claus W Jungeblut, use in the 1940s by Frederick Klenner for infections like poliomyelitis, and moving up to modern times with orthomolecular theories by Linus Pauling. The history has not been straight forward and not without controversy. This will kick off a multi-program tour of IV vitamin C.

We will discuss approaches to testing for body burden of heavy metals and safe approaches to removing these metals with chelation therapy. Please ensure the practitioner who helps you is trained in detoxification and chelation therapy from organizations like American College for Advancement in Medicine www.acam.og or the International College of Integrative Medicine https://icimed.com/ or naturopathic groups specializing in detoxification https://www.emeiglobal.com/courses/emei-training. Chelation therapy is not something to be taken lightly and should always been done with an expert.
Today The Art and Soul of Healing delves into clearing the organic chemical toxicants from the body or how the body does that and what can be done to support the genetic, biochemical, and elimination pathways. First we discuss preparing the terrain or getting body ready to detoxify. We look at Phase I Cytochrome P450 enzymes and Phase II conjugation pathways. It is important to understand these are genetically hardwired but can be supported and made to work more effectively with nutrients from food and supplements. Testing for chemical toxicants in our bodies is presented in an overview. Next podcast will be highlighting the other group of toxicants, the heavy metals, and how to remove them with chelation by using food and pharmaceutical chelators.
One thing I want to highlight is it is important to meet each person who needs detoxification where they are. First you need to understand their individual story from birth to the present, work history, hobbies, and anything that could lead to an increased body burden of toxicants. That includes chemicals (yes even the plastic wrap around your food you microwave then eat - yumm!), metals, electromagnetic frequencies, infections, or emotional toxicity. Then it is important to prepare the terrain for detoxification and that will come in future episodes. So let's begin our journey!
Dr Ron has been medical director of Integrated Listening System since its founding in 2007 and with its predecessor, Dynamic Listening Systems, since 2001.
Carbohydrates are critical for human life but not in the overabundant destructive form of simple sugars we are awash in today when eating the Standard American Diet. Let's take a tour of the science, where we are, and the path away from chronic disease.
