On the Secret Witch Show today, Nicole explores her radical approach to health which views ‘mysterious illness' as a transformative initiation into self-healing and a sacred call to our witchy healing gifts. Nicole's point of view is that illnesses that often go unexplained by mainstream medicine - such as chronic fatigue syndrome, ME, burn-out, auto-immune issues and menstrual disorders like endometriosis - are calls to embrace our own magical healing power and wisdom. In this episode, whilst honouring the depths of darkness that mysterious dis-ease can take us to, Nicole shares the importance of seeing illness not as something ‘victimising' (as our society is conditioned), but an opportunity for personal healing and deeper connection to our bodies, inspiring self-love and feminine empowerment that awakens our inner witch and connects us to our self-healing inner apothecary. She also shares some deeper self-enquiry prompts, and explores her way of mapping our health. What You'll Learn from this Episode: Mysterious illnesses - including conditions like chronic fatigue, autoimmune issues, and feminine cycle symptoms - are a secret call to our ‘inner witch' and her self-healing power and magic Our illnesses are actually ‘initiations' - doorways to parts of ourselves that we've not before seen, rather than conditions that are to be passively endured - though this challenges mainstream medical and societal norms around ‘health' which often has us feel victim to health challenges According to universal magical healing laws and principles, suppression is the true cause of dis-ease - anywhere we suppress, creates an energetic block and energy get stuck The law of ‘like cures like' means that what ‘causes' something will also ‘cure' it. On the Secret Witch Show today our guest is Yolanda Williams. Yolanda is a Reiki teacher and host of the fabulous ‘Reiki Radio' podcast. She is an Energetic Alchemist, also certified in Wellness Counseling, through Cornell University. Her work facilitates new levels of self-connection and reveals the dynamics of mind, body and energy. In this episode we explore all things ‘energetic alchemy'.  We dived into Yolanda's uniquely deep perspective of Reiki, investigating how it can be a powerful portal of ‘inner work' and self-awakening that offers healing of the mind, body spirit - rather than something ‘external' as it is often seen.  We discussed some of the surface-level misunderstandings of reiki, and explore the nuances of how we can harness energetic alchemy for ourselves - beyond outsourcing our power to others - to actually peel back layers of ourselves, see where we are projecting, connect to our intuition and unlock hidden aspects of ourselves.  Including our unique gifts! Reclaiming our gifts and voice is an embodied journey of ‘living into' our medicine. We each have our own unique archetypal remedy to share - and we have to reclaim our gifts through an embodied experience, rather than learning intellectually - and working with archetypal remedies is a great way to do this. The podcast is a great example of how Nicole lived into her medicine as she listened to the intuitive nudges, and healed and expanded herself, leaning into her true soul expression. Healing is an ongoing process; it will never be ‘complete' - the real gift is learning the art and science of loving, compassionate self-healing so we can provide that for ourselves throughout our lives, learning to tenderly meet challenges and reclaim our gifts from our wounds - and celebrate our small victories, taking the next aligned-action as we go Sharing our voice can be scary, because of the witch wound - and if we are fearing that, it's just a sign there's more healing to do of our inner witch (who has often experienced much trauma in her lifetime). What You'll Learn from this Episode: It is vital to our mental and physical health to live out our full, unapologetic expression - numbing and suppressing our true selves literally has us become burned out, depressed and anxious We can begin to heal through unsuppressing ourselves, via self-discovery - which includes facing our darkness, feeling everything fully and challenging the societal tendency to numb and avoid discomfort Expressing our emotions can be an alchemical process which unlocks deeper creativity and joy - Sophie's poetry is a great example of this deep expression of her soul, and came through her in this alchemical way - as I always say, our gifts are found in our wounds That said, we can consciously choose the edge we meet, giving ourselves permission to go at our own pace and choose when we go in - this is an intentional healing process of soul-expression It's important to regulate our nervous systems - much more important than it is made out to be in our society so we can express safely. On the Secret Witch Show today our guest is Nikki Van De Car. Nikki is the author of over a dozen books on magic and crafting, including the bestselling ‘Practical Magic'. She is an indigenous creator, focusing on exploring the ways in which stories inform how we understand the world and ourselves. In this deep and brilliant episode we explore how to journey with ‘inner child' work and ‘shadow work' (rather than the phantasy of ‘quick fixes') for deep healing. We dived into the psychological reasons we tend to favour ‘quick fix' approaches to healing, what we mean by ‘real' inner-child work - and how curiosity, intimacy and self-illumination are key to healing and realising our magic. Listen to the end - William shares truthfully at the end that becoming a healer is one of the most challenging callings we can have, sharing why healing ourselves is important along the way. What You'll Learn from this Episode: Our biggest wounding comes from the ‘unlived life of our parents' which leaves us with unmet needs that become our wounds - and this can be healed with ‘true' inner child work. The idea that there is a malicious entity negatively affecting people and their relationship to their deities and practices. So grab yourself something to drink and join us for a strange conversation about a relatively novel interpretation of what is happening these days. Ohh, and fear not, there is much vamping and many side quests! Definition: The noticeable shift in an organized religion from its patron's doctrine to ones of hate utilizing misinformation and manipulation of teachings, selective following focusing solely on the out of context misinterpretations of select passages to reinforce hateful rhetoric, and/or the complete abandonment of key tenets if or when they oppose the new regimes focus of hate. These are additionally supported by otherness speech meant to segregate those who disagree or question the new regime, opportunistic practice where one applies the tenets of their faith to only a select group or at socially opportune times to hide or coverup hateful practices behind “goodness”, coded language to communicate and spread in group think, and outright lying publicly and to the self in order to not address or internalize the new regime of hate! The contagious spread of these parasitic creatures follow a spiraling path in both individual and group infection starting with small changes and spreading to ever greater hate. On the Secret Witch Show today, Nicole is diving into one of the common ‘symptoms' that shows up for women who have come here with magical gifts: burn out.  Burn out is something that many sensitive women experience - and Nicole shares her own point of view and journey with this, explaining her radical worldview that whilst we judge ourselves for not being able to ‘keep up', burn out is really a deeper call into our magic and gifts. In this episode Nicole explores why this is, how we've been conditioned to shame ourselves for what's just the sensitive constitution we were born with - and how it's really a sign that there's some healing to do of our wounded healer.  She explores how, contrary to what we've been taught, our wounds become portals to our deepest gifts, offering some enquiry about burn out to help guide you in self-illumination. What You'll Learn from this Episode: We are taught that all the things that are Feminine - our bodies, our softness, our tenderness, our radiance, our joy, our pleasure, our vulnerability, our depth, our hearts - don't matter, and to forget about them and be more in the ‘Masculine' logic, drive, force, push - but really it is being embodied in our ‘Feminine' essence that creates miracles It is the deeper ‘energetic' choice into that which has us embody our feminine - and when we make that deeper ‘energetic' choice into our Feminine magic, the world sees it and shifts how it responds to us Being in the body helps that - and what has us embodied in our Feminine essence is unique for us all - some helpful prompts to discover how to embody your Feminine magic include asking: what would feel luxurious for me? What would feel softening for me?  What would feel joyful for me?  What do I need?   Being in our Feminine actually has us create miracles without forcing - creative ideas flow through us when we follow the joy, though this can be hard to trust.  It can be helpful to be in a journaling exercise of looking for ‘disconfirming evidence' that we ‘can't' trust magic - look for proof of the miracles that occur when we are following our Feminine joy and flow Part of Feminine magic is also being with the darkness - fully feeling our feelings - letting them move through us - and so it's important to love and welcome these aspects of ourselves for deeper healing and opening to magic - it's what transmutes us to our divinity.
