Welcome back everyone! In today's episode of "Talking Out Loud" we discuss coincidences. Now, I don't normally believe in coincidences... until they happen! Tell me if this sounds familiar to you: You're in someone's house completing a project and while you're there, something in their home stops working. This item is seemingly unrelated to the work you've done but it's very challenging to describe that to the client. It makes sense to them that, since this was working before you got here and now it's not... how do you NOT have anything to do with it. This is an all-too-common issue we face in this industry and in today's short episode we discuss the complications of navigating these situations with your clients. Enjoy! --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/doug-powell9/message
Welcome back to the show everyone! We know its been a few months since we've launched an episode and we want to thank you all for your patience. We're back with a new season and with the new season comes new segments. And what better way to come back than to make fun of all of us collectively! Today, we roll our a new segment called "Talking Out Loud." In these short clips, we take a second to share some thoughts, make some jokes and connect with those of us out there thinking about similar things. These segments give us a chance to share thoughts on processes and approaches to work and life. Sometimes they'll be funny, sometimes they'll be productive and sometimes they'll be deeper thoughts on life and work. In today's segment, Doug makes fun of an age old argument in the electrical trade: Vertical or Horizontal. Doug makes a lot of jokes in this segment and they're designed to have a little fun at our expense. Hopefully you can relate and enjoy the episode and not be hurt by Doug's candid remarks. So sit back, relax and welcome back to the Modern Electrician Podcast. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/doug-powell9/message
In this episode of Aphantasia Experiments, Robin delves into a wide range of intriguing topics and personal experiences. They discuss her struggle with achieving a specific goal, her talent for visualization, and the eye reactions that remind them of husky dog eyes. The episode continues with Robin's reflections on childhood experiences during the 4th grade, their desire for female representation in politics, and encounters with influential figures such as Kim Campbell and Jean Chrétien. They express the importance of balanced representation and call for deeper reflections on beliefs and actions.Robin also touches on their interest in documentaries, their personal experiment on aphantasia and light perception, and the challenges they face in supporting their daughter's hyper-perfectionism.Don't miss this episode of Aphantasia Experiments as Robin delves into thought-provoking discussions, personal experiences, and calls for a more inclusive and empathetic society. In today's episode of "Talking Out Loud," Doug shares his thoughts on the importance of craftsmanship in our work. Whether we're taking on a small project or installing large equipment, it's out responsibility as tradespeople to care about the final product. We're the one's who set the tone for how blue collar people are viewed by society, at large and it starts with quality work. We show ourselves respect, the industry respect and those who came before us respect when we approach our trade with care. This is our legacy. Today on The Being Human Podcast I want to talk about journaling - but not the writing kind. No, today, we're diving into why asking questions out loud is more effective than only writing them down in your journal.Let me start by saying that I love journaling, but as someone who needs to speak to make sense of my mind, this voice technique is simply amazing, which is why I needed to create a whole episode about it.Why is it so effective? Because when you speak out loud, you are quite literally listening to yourself. It allows you to witness and detach from your emotions, enact solutions, and embrace your inner child. The best part? We don't have to make it weird to simply speak your thoughts, emotions, and needs out loud.Resources and Links from the Show: Take my FREE quiz to find out how well you know yourself and where to start using that to skyrocket your biz success: https://www.vasavikumar.com/takethequizJoin the MIND Your Own BUSINESS community here: http://vasavikumar.com/membershipConnect with Vasavi on Instagram: @mynameisvasaviKey moments to tune in for:[2:22] The best reason to use voice journaling when facing challenges[6:49] Interrupting fear-based thinking and overwhelming feelings[13:00] The habit that reintroduces you to yourself[18:01] How to not make it weird---------Vasavi Kumar leads the coaching industry with 10 years of experience and has helped thousands of women overcome major life obstacles to create new heights of success. Nothing special on this episode, just Ava talking out loud. After a quick ~emotional breakdown~, Ava simply says what is on her mind. No outline prepared, no cuts or breaks. She is just talking to you, her friend and listener, about stuff that is on her mind.
Tash + Rick share their thoughts followed by experiences of having to deal with forgiveness in a marriage. Forgiving anyone is difficult. Whether it's a friend, family member, or co-worker. But when the person that you love most has hurt you ... the process of forgiveness can be incredibly difficult and painful. Forgiveness simply means loving someone enough to pursue healing instead of punishment when they have wrong you. ---------- Be sure to follow Talking Out Loud on Instagram @tlkn.outloud
Tash & Rick share their thoughts about "Appreciation in a marriage". As humans, it's our nature to want to know and feel appreciated. Tell your spouse “Thank you” everyday! A little appreciation goes a long way. ---------- Be sure to follow Talking Out Loud on Instagram @tlkn.outloud

Welcome to Chris' podcast where he shares some invaluable insights about his coping strategies during COVID. Chris attended his first camp in 2017 and hasnt looked back since, joining committees and then becoming the first volunteer with Kate, to take on the challenge of planning and running a Youth Empowerment Camp on their own. That was until the pandemic reached Australia's shores and within a week the camp was cancelled and so was Chris' Wedding. In fact his Wedding was supposed to be held yesterday so we thank Chris for taking time during this difficult week to put this podcast together. His advice about resilience is insightful and achievable while his concluding words to FOCUS ON YOU are a reminder to us all that we are indeed all in this together. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/talkoutloud2020/message

Listening to our podcasts will hopefully provide a welcome relief from some of the confronting coverage on social media and media in general. You are not alone. Please reach out if you are struggling and we will send you some helpful resources. In this episode we speak with Kate who is one of our most proactive volunteers and a qualified youth worker. We first met Kate as a student on placement from TAFE back in 2018 and fortunately for us, she has continued to show her support and leadership to so many of our members. Talking Out Loud for Memory
In this conversation with New York City-based therapist Joann Paley Galst, we talk about the intense feelings that were brought up in a recent Choice Mom workshop by single women who are making the decision to raise a family on their own, by women who are facing fertility challenges, and by moms who are sometimes trying to be stoic or quiet about the difficulties they face.We talked about how important it is for Choice Moms to be able to share not only the joy of parenting, but the grief of single parenting, with other Choice Moms -- in the existing online communities, but also in face-to-face experiences. We discussed the issues women tend to think through before they make this choice and the importance of male role models. This show was sponsored by Pacific Fertility Center.
