Tennessee Highway Patrol working with ICE, made 369 traffic stops the first week in May that resulted in 94 detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The Highway Patrol will continue to assist Homeland Security state-wide. This action has created anguish, mistrust and fear among residents and non-residents targeted at the police and lawmakers. Host Ben Hall invites Tennessee House Representative for District 51 Aftyn Behn to discuss what her constituents are saying, her reaction to seeing first hand what is going on in the community and what changes need to be made. She also remarks about the actions in the 114th Legislative Session and what she is working on this summer.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Our episode is a little longer today because it is a bit of a hybrid thanks to a live audience show I did the night before. I use the first 45-50 minutes to bring my normal show to you but then transition to a replay of the live event hosted by Americans for Prosperity in NW Georgia. To start, there is great news of a cease fire with the Houthis and a re-opening of the Red Sea shipping lanes. We now have word the owner of the vehicle that was stopped by the Tennessee Highway Patrol with Kilmar Abrego Garcia driving and filled with people, says he paid Garcia several times to run people into the country from the border. Next, we go to Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent's testimony on the Hill yesterday. To illustrate the level of intellect inherent to the Democrat Party today, we turn to Rep. Nydia Velazquez (D-NY). Then, for the added cherry on top, we turn to mad Maxine Waters (D-CA) regarding DOGE. This leads to a short segment on why DOGE needs to continue working daily to find and root out the fraud, waste, abuse and corruption. Then we shift to the live show from Tuesday, May 06, 2025 at AFP. We start with a short conversation with Jeff Thompson of AFP before turning to Tony West. West joined AFP in Georgia in 2015. He has served in various roles before being elevated to State Director in October of 2023. Prior to joining AFP, he spent three years as an analyst in the Governor's Office of Planning and Budget under Gov. Nathan Deal. Our keynote guest is Beverly Peyton, newly elected head of the GOP for Bartow County, GA. We talk a lot about her beginnings, growing up in Chicago and watching jobs and factories move away, leaving her and many of her friends on the edge of poverty. Realizing she was a critical point of turning down a bad path, she instead enlisted in the National Guard and it turned her life around and set her on a path of growth and success. She started to become more politically active in 2016 and is now a local leader in the Republican Party. After the interviews, I discuss the topic of immigration, due process and how the Legacy/mainstream media wants to take pieces of the 5th and 14th Amendments to try to make their points. I also spend some time on AI and what it will mean for everyone. We then close with a short Q&A session with the audience. And a Dallas man, wanted for homicide, is caught in another state.  But first…     PC News   Former President Jimmy Carter honored his late wife, Rosalynn Carter, at a national tribute service in Atlanta yesterday.   Mrs. Carter, the lifelong companion of the 39th President, passed away at 96 on Nov. 19 after 77 years of marriage.   The invite-only event at Glenn Memorial Church boasted a high-profile guest list, including President Joe Biden, First Lady Dr. Jill Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and Second Gentleman Douglas Emhoff.   Dignitaries like Former President Bill Clinton, Melania Trump, Michelle Obama, Laura Bush, and local figures Governor Brian Kemp and Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens paid their respects.   Her funeral will take place in Plains today.   This from 11 Alive.     PC News     Authorities in Tennessee successfully apprehended a suspect from Dallas.   Loudon County Sheriff's Office employed a combination of  phone ping and FLOC camera techniques to track down Brandon Howard to the 300 block of Get Good Hollow Road in Loudon.   Swift action by SWAT and Tennessee Highway Patrol troopers resulted in Howard's capture after a brief chase.   The 37-year-old suspect, wanted in Dallas for homicide, is now held at the Loudon County Detention Center awaiting extradition.   This from the Loudon County Sheriff's Office.     PC News In a move to tackle the potential winter surge, the U.S. government is making it easier for Americans to access COVID-19 tests from the comfort of their homes. Those who missed the September distribution can order up to eight free at-home virus tests at COVIDtests.gov. The U.S. Postal Service will deliver them at no cost. The distribution coincides with the onset of flu season and reports of increased RSV cases in various regions. Though COVID-19 hospitalizations saw a recent rise, overall numbers have stabilized, thanks to vaccinations and previous infections. The release also precedes the first winter without mandatory insurance coverage for at-home tests, which now average $11. This from 11 Alive. There's been an app for this for over a decade. Exactly 1 month ago today, a wonderful Black couple and their 5 sweet babies, were traveling from Georgia to Chicago for a family funeral when they were pulled over by Tennessee Highway Patrol on a bogus traffic stop for "staying in the left lane and not actively passing someone." In other words, driving while Black. The children, which include a newborn, a 2 year old, a 3 year old, a 5 year old, and a 7 year old were asleep in the back. Police then arrested the father for possession of a tiny amount of weed - a misdemeanor - that is legal in much of Georgia but not Tennessee - and instructed the mother to drive to the local "justice center" to bail out the father. When the mother got there, it was a trap. Police and Child Protective Services surrounded her and forcefully took all of her kids, including her breastfed baby. My blood is boiling just typing these words. Police had lied and said the mother was arrested and called Child Protective Services to get the children. But she wasn't under arrest and had committed no crime. That was a month ago - and the state STILL has their kids.
