Derik Queen got his first taste of life in the NBA last night when the Pelicans took on the Timberwolves in summer league action. Bob Haynie recaps the nice night for the former Terp.
If you've been hearing about the industry buzz in Michigan, you heard right. With the lowest tax rates (we've ever heard of), deli-style shops, and the nearly unbelievable unlimited purchasing power, cities like Detroit are seated to become more recognizable meccas for the plant within the U.S., especially for product categories like rosin, which Michigan is gaining increasing notoriety for.Blackleaf is live in Detroit, moments before judging the Bring Your Best Bag 2025 competition, sitting down in the middle of the show with several bubbling brand owners in the scene to discuss the state of the industry, what strains and flavors consumers are reaching for these days, some of the biggest hurdles moving from the traditional market into recreational, hardest lessons scaling from basement traps into legit facilities, and so much more. The guests in order are: Chocolate and Mike from Hytek/The Refinery, John, Aaron, and Rob from Eastside Alchemy, Joey from Yeti Stash, Chris from Tip Top Crop, Aaron from Premier Farms, Chris from Ghostbudsters Farm, and Brandon from Voyage Bloom. Some of the hot takes from this pod include the recent customer preference for quality indoor smalls over top-shelf outdoor, how to continue navigating the “Candy Wave,” deciding what strains from your grow should be washed into rosin, what strains should be vaped versus dabbed, and why growing OG cuts like Headband aren't for the faint of heart, but worth preserving in any legal market if not for Michigan's deep connection to iconic varieties like Motorbreath. For those that have been curious about what the top players in the Michigan
The Thunder took a 3-2 series lead over the Pacers last night thanks to Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jalen Williams, but Aaron Wiggins had a nice night of his own with 14 points off the bench. Bob Haynie recaps the action and looks ahead to game 6 on Thursday.
Aaron Wiggins helped lift the Thunder to a win in game 2 of the NBA Finals by scoring 18 off the bench. Will he show up again before the series is over? Bob Haynie says yes!

This week we're back in the Tomato Tent to talk a bit about the watering process, the installation of the new carbon filter for the tent (the tropaya tomatoes are getting resinous as fuck, definitely needed one!) I also chop down the buckwheat and millet to do the final chop and drop on the last 30gal pot for this round! I also harvested a few buckwheat seeds, not enough to mill and make flour, but enough to plant again and grow more! This week we're discussing recent changes & additions to the tent! I've transplanted a Tropaya Bx #6 from Cammy Cat Gardens into the front 20gal pot! She's a slow starter but I've been told once she gets going she'll explode! I'm excited to see the progress of that plant as well as the A.L.H. #2 & #3! They're undergoing the trellis weaving process and right now i have at least 6 tops on each plant! This is from topping 3x on the healthiest growth, and using the trellis for low stress training. Instead of 2 tops, I now have 12! Science rules!P.S. NO REAL GEL TABS WERE HARMED IN THE MAKING OF THIS EPISODE ;-)Terp's N Things@whoswho_solventless - 73u-119u - Garlic Breath (Get you some! I also give a bit of a tour of the Tomato Tent and show the installation of the trellis! This netting allows for control of the vertical growth and promotes a fuller canopy! If you've ever wondered what FSOTD's host, Blackleaf, considers the absolute standard for curing and storing herb, you'd be a fool not to tap in.Blackleaf is joined in the studio by CVault co-founder, Ryan Parker, and Scott Swail, the North American Key Accounts Manager for Boveda, who's been with the company for 10+ years to discuss all things herbal storage whether that's keeping your head stash at the perfect humidity or controlling the cure and trichome deterioration when moving or selling large quantities of herb or even concentrate. For the uninitiated, CVault is a company specializing in the production of airtight, stainless steel storage containers designed to preserve the freshness and potency of herb and other organic materials. They integrate humidity control technology, often pairing their containers with Boveda packs, to maintain ideal storage conditions. Boveda is a 27+-year-old company that produces precision humidity control packs to maintain the ideal moisture levels for various products, including herb, cigars, and musical instruments. They utilize a patented two-way humidity control technology that adds or absorbs moisture as needed to protect and preserve items. If you've ever wondered about the CVault/Boveda connection, this pod unveils the entire backstory of how these two companies came together. You'll hear Ryan and Scott explain why Boveda's acquisition of CVault was truly a match made in heaven. If there's one thing you'll hear during this episode, it's Blackleaf's undying love and rigorous implementation of CVault's storage technology for all of his cultivation and daily consumption needs. Whether he's storing big packs or carrying around a fresh batch of head stash, he swears by CVault's stainless steel containers in tandem with varying sizes of Boveda packs. Everyone also weighs in heavily on how turkey bags are the absolute worst move for storage, especially when you're stacking, and how undependable glass is for shipping bulk concentrate. This episode truly identifies countless pain points of home growers and commercial growers everywhere, and how proper storage and humidity control play an utterly essential role in the final product. You can't miss the part where Scott address the hearsay that Boveda packs “steal the terps,” and what this actually means. For any true fans of cultivating or even preserving ultra top-shelf herb, you can't miss a second of this episode with two serious pioneers in one of the biggest missteps in the industry—proper curing and storage.Subscribe to our channel and the FSOTD.com site to keep up with other key players and enjoy conversations with tastemakers from the culture you can't find anywhere else.
