The book is now available in India and Portugal, with more countries to come, helping to fuel the growth of her international telehealth business. From primary care to chronic disease management and specialty care, Dr. Taz has led the growth of CentreSpringMD from a solo provider practice with 2 employees to a multi clinic company with 4 locations and a global telehealth platform with over 50 employees. A harrowing discovery in Georgia has exposed disturbing actions associated with the religious group, "Soldiers of Christ." Mihee Lee, 54, along with multiple members of the group, including her children, now face charges linked to the death of 33-year-old Sehee Cho.    On September 12, a grim find was made in Duluth – Cho's lifeless body lay in the trunk of a car parked outside a South Korean spa. According to the Gwinnett Police Department, the victim had endured weeks of beatings and severe malnourishment. The nature of her prolonged suffering sends chills down the spine of any compassionate observer.    Mihee Lee is facing multiple charges including felony murder, false imprisonment, tampering with evidence, and more. Her children, Joonho Lee, 26, Juoonhyum Lee, 22, and Junyeong Lee, 15, have been apprehended on similar charges. Three other members - Hyunji Lee, 25, Eric Hyun, 26, and Lee family relative Gawom Lee, 26 - were arrested last month in connection with this crime.    However, a shocking twist was unveiled when Eric Hyun's attorney disclosed that both his client and the deceased, Sehee Cho, were also victims of the very group they were a part of. David Boyle, representing Hyun, alleged that both were brutally tortured in the basement of the Lee residence, disguised as a religious initiation rite for their church.    The details of their ordeal are nothing short of horrifying. Eric Hyun was allegedly subjected to heinous acts, including being belted across his face and genitals, stripped, shot multiple times with an airsoft gun, and had skin sanded off his chest. These were acts meant to "indoctrinate him into their religious extremism," according to the statement. Financial coercion was also applied, with tens of thousands of dollars reportedly sent to Korea and credit cards maxed out.    Sehee Cho, who had relocated from South Korea to Atlanta to become part of the Soldiers of Christ, was found weighing just around 70 lbs. The Gwinnett Police, in their press release, expressed their belief that malnourishment played a role in her tragic demise.    Gwinnett Police Sgt. Michele Pihera, in a conversation with PEOPLE, left the door open to more charges, saying, "If any additional probable cause presents itself, more charges could be forthcoming."    After Cho's body was discovered, an investigation led the authorities to a house in Lawrenceville, GA. It is in this house's basement where they suspect the gruesome crime unfolded. The case unraveled when Eric Hyun, allegedly, drove the car containing Cho's body to the Jeju Sauna, left it parked, and later had a family member discover the body when retrieving a personal item.    According to Fox5, among the arrested, Joonho Lee, is an Emory University student. While he remains in custody without bond, Eric Hyun has been granted one. The others, Juoonhyum Lee, Gawom Lee, and Hyunji Lee, still remain detained.    This case unveils the dark underside of religious fanaticism, painting a grim picture of how beliefs can be distorted to justify heinous actions. As the investigation continues, many await the full revelations and justice for Sehee Cho. Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? The Rich Zeoli Show- Hour 1: On Tuesday, former City Councilmember Cherelle Parker won the Democrat mayoral primary in Philadelphia—and is expected to win the city's general election in November. She would be the first woman to become Philadelphia Mayor. Notably, Parker campaigned on ending safe injection sites, restoring stop-and-frisk policies, and hiring more police officers to help combat crime throughout the city. With 87% of the total vote reported, Parker received 33% of the vote. Meanwhile, despite support from Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), progressive candidate Helen Gym earned just 21.3% of the vote. Is this the end of Gym's political career? It's unlikely. She's already rumored to be a U.S. Senate candidate in the event Bob Casey Jr. (D-PA) decides not to seek reelection in 2024. On Tuesday, President Joe Biden met with Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) in hopes of successfully negotiating a debt ceiling increase. No agreement was reached. Earlier this month, House Republicans passed legislation that would cut long-term federal spending while concurrently raising the federal debt limit. Former City Councilmember David Oh won the Republican mayoral primary in Philadelphia on Tuesday. According to Fox5, “New York City has begun to convert public school gymnasiums into housing for international migrants in the latest effort to accommodate a growing population of asylum-seekers who have overwhelmed the city's homeless shelter system.” The controversial policy has led to wide-spread, massive protests being led by parents. Today, people experience metabolic disease and unhealthy insulin resistance at alarming rates. Since the fifties, conventional westernized food has become highly processed, hyper-palatable food full of ingredients our body doesn't know how to process. Seed oils and high fructose corn syrup are cheap and convenient for manufacturers, but they are highly damaging to our bodies, and we end up not getting the nutrients we need. Ultimately, excessive consumption of processed food leads to inflammation, oxidative stress, insulin resistance, and metabolic disease. Poor Sleep and Movement Habits Create a Vicious Cycle of Stress In the past few years, modern Americans have experienced significant lifestyle changes in movement and sleep. To stay healthy, we need to move and leave our homes, but nowadays, it is possible to have everything delivered and become wholly isolated and sedentary. People stay up all night and sleep all day. They take drugs to help them wake up and also to help them sleep. This problem became more severe during the pandemic, and many Americans gained over 25 pounds. When people fail to manage their stress healthily, they only worsen things. Habits such as eating while standing and failing to connect with nature also perpetuate problems with sleep and energy levels. Waking when the sun rises, going to bed when it's dark out, and eating in alignment with circadian biology are the best practices to improve sleep and overall quality of life. Mapping Your Hormonal Cycle to Optimize Your Health Choices Women in their peak fertile years may be inclined to cruise along without paying attention to their cycle, but careful tracking is one of the best ways to optimize health. For example, keeping up with the progesterone-dominated segments of your cycle will help you understand when your body needs a break. Progesterone is like the sleepy mellow sister of estrogen, which may affect your workouts, energy, and cravings. About five to seven days before your menstrual cycle, you may need to watch your food intake better. Instead of pushing your body to do OrangeTheory or CrossFit six to seven days a week, this is a better time to focus on weight training, yoga, and pilates. Knowing when to rest and eat healthy foods during your cycle will reduce cravings, sleep problems, and other issues. Make Protein A Top Priority to Retain Muscles and Improve Insulin Sensitivity Besides avoiding highly processed foods, Thurlow recommends focusing on protein. Both men and women build the bulk of their lean muscle mass in their twenties and thirties. By forty, we begin to lose not only muscle mass but muscle strength as well. As we age, adipose tissue begins replacing our muscles, leading to insulin sensitivity. Protein helps to stimulate muscle protein synthesis, and hitting an adequate amount of protein is critically important for maintaining metabolic health. To maximize the effects of good nutrition, go for a ten to fifteen-minute walk after every meal because this will help your muscles absorb and retain glucose, which helps with insulin sensitivity. Recognizing and Adapting to Premenopausal Symptoms To conceptualize perimenopause, think of it as a sort of reverse puberty. When women first get their period, they usually do not menstruate regularly right away. Similarly, perimenopause may cause your cycle to become more irregular and, therefore, harder to track. Perimenopause occurs about ten to fifteen years before menopause, so between ages thirty-five and thirty-nine, women will begin to notice its effects. During this time, the ovaries do not produce as much progesterone. Our adrenal glands act as an emergency backup system for progesterone production, but perimenopause demands more from them, which can cause sleep disturbances, anxiety, depression, and other symptoms. Thurlow recommends speaking with your healthcare provider about hormone therapy, which comes in many different forms to combat these symptoms.  [05:10] All about Cynthia [13:05] The Modern American Lifestyle is Not Conducive to Wellness [14:45] Poor Sleep and Movement Habits Create a Vicious Cycle of Stress [18:50] Mapping Your Hormonal Cycle to Optimize Your Health Choices [27:20] Make Protein A Top Priority to Retain Muscles and Improve Insulin Sensitivity [32:55] Recognizing and Adapting to Premenopausal Symptoms [51:50] Questions and Answers  Resources Mentioned In This Episode Intermittent Fasting Transformation: The 45-Day Program for Women to Lose Stubborn Weight, Improve Hormonal Health, and Slow Aging: https://www.amazon.com/Cynthia-Thurlow/e/B098DJHRMT/ Cynthia's Website: https://cynthiathurlow.com/ Cynthia on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/cynthiathurlow Cynthia on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/CHTWellness/ Cynthia's Podcast: https://cynthiathurlow.com/podcast/ Register your FREE spot for our upcoming 7 day keto challenge.
