She began her career as a graduate from Naropa University with a focus on writing and poetics. After graduation, she spent many years as a blogger for online magazines before pursuing her passion for uplifting women and helping them to find their strengths and gifts in middle age. Episode 78 - Have you ever suffered from comparison? Have you ever found yourself sizing yourself up against someone else... and feel superior... or inferior? As Christians, we know better... with our heads. But we fall in the trap of comparison so easily! We've probably heard that we should avoid this trap. Easier said than done! What if there was an alternative? Today Stephanie welcomes Amber Cullum, podcaster, inspirational speaker, wife and mom. They dive deep into the topic of comparison: is it really a trap to avoid at all costs? What if we could instead redefine and recycle comparison to draw us closer to God? In this very real and off-the-cuff conversation, Stephanie and Amber hold each other accountable and remember what truly matters--to find our delight in the glory of God! They start off with the importance of remembering God's faithfulness, especially in our times of unfaithfulness, and move on to the worldviews behind comparison to replace them with a more Godward encounter with comparison. Amber gives us practical advice to overcome an attitude of comparison. What happens when we place someone on a pedestal? How do we tackle the current Christian celebrity culture? What alternatives is Christ offering us? From arrogance to idolatry, our human nature veers away from the freedom of our God-given boundaries to embrace what we think is best for us--much to our detriment. Amber Cullum is the podcast host behind Grace Enough. She is wife to Sam, a mom of 3, and a Physical Therapist turned stay at home mom. She love connecting women with God, people, and resources to spur them on in their walks with Jesus and remind them that God's grace is enough.

Are you having issues getting on the same page with your spouse? Are you a generation X'er? Then this is the episode for you. Today Stephanie and I will dive into the root cause of issues surrounding finances and relationships. I want you to think about how you can start making changes in your relationship to make this happen for your situation. Stephanie is a financial coach. She serve a GenX audience. Primarily GenX Women and couples. In this time and having coached MANY hundreds of people across the country, here is what she knows for sure: WOMEN - Financial decisions do not BELONG to a man simply because he is a man. Your brain and ability to think is NOT inferior to a man or anyone. If you think this way - a lot of it is based on how women are socialized and the patriarchal society we still live in as in "little women" aren't capable of making big money decisions and we need to be guided....YET, we (specifically black women) are the most educated and fast growing entrepreneurial segment in the country. COUPLES - If you're struggling with money, the money is usually not the real issue. It's just the weapon of choice. The root cause of the struggle is usually rooted in mindset and upbringing. A deep exploration of both will help lead you to resolving your money issues. If you and your significant other are in need of financially counseling or have further questioning regarding your finances contact Stephanie and her team at socialmoneyfinance.com THANKS FOR LISTENING! -- Continue to support the show by subscribing, sharing and leaving comments on your favorite platforms. Today Stephanie and Jo start to peel away the layers by offering a series of questions to ask and examine to help you get the heart of the question "Should I Stay or Should I Go?" Questions to ask: Is there some toxicity I need to address? Is there something I need to say before I go, or if I say it can I then stay? Do I need to call it out, bring it to the surface or shine a light on it?Am I the person or a person who can do that? Is there a wounding or am I wounded? Am I called to what I’m doing? If I were doing the same thing five years from now, how what I feel about it? Do I see a future here? Do I see opportunities to grow here? Is this environment giving me the tools I need to be developed? What are the costs of staying or going? What are my true values in this situation? Am I looking for a short-cut, eject button or trying to avoid somethingI deeper? What I am afraid of? What are the risks? Who should get my primary loyalty? What are the culture and values of this place? What are the culture and values of the person in charge? What is the theological world view of this place?nWhat does that mean for my life? What’s the issue beneath the issue? If I feel a lack of peace, what is the actual core lack of peace about? God, have you released me from this? Is it now or later? On this week’s episode of the Single Mom Tribe, we meet Stephanie Manzo, the daughter of a single-mother and she has an incredible story to share.Today Stephanie is a wife, mother, and thriving career woman. She was once the a child that questioned whether or not she was wanted due to an absent father and nearly repeated the cycle of falling prey to domestic violence in her own romantic relationships. But the life lessons and strengths she gained from her mother pulled her through more obstacles than one...Some of the greatest teachings she acquired from her mother were remembering her worth, knowing what she deserves, finding strength through her struggles, knowing what she brings to the table in relationships and never losing sight of yourself; although you may be in union with another person, you are still one whole on your own and need to honor all of who you are.Despite her oftentimes trying childhood, Stephanie persevered with a smile on her face and a heart of gold. Upon building a family of her own, she thought her struggles had come to pass, until she was diagnosed with Breast Cancer at the age of 32. This led Stephanie to once again question her worth, wondering if she was not deserving of a good life; a question many of us have asked, a struggle I am far too familiar with myself. But in these unfortunate times, she held on to her unwavering faith, her devoted husband and the unconditional love of her mother, and with those by her side, she conquered her battle. Stephanie is now 34, cancer free and able to see the silver linings in her turbulent journey. She is a survivor, and she has many lessons to share, so tune in, because this is an episode you won’t want to miss... we both cried and there was not a tissue in sight to soak up our tears!

Teaching skills and imparting knowledge are perhaps the greatest gifts and tools we can give to the young, and the young at heart, hungry to learn. Local Baton Rouge entrepreneurs are coming up with creative ways to turn the act of teaching and educating into small businesses with limitless potential. Jacques Hopkins was an electrical engineer whose desire to be an online entrepreneur led him, five years ago, to walk away from his day job and create a local company that promises to teach even the most tone deaf students how to play the piano in just three weeks. Piano in 21 days is an entirely online tutorial that takes everything you learn in traditional piano lessons and throws it out the window. Jacques lessons are unique in that they re fast, fun and require no classical training. Now, this might seem very remarkable, not in the least because Jacques, by his own admission, took piano lessons as a child growing up in New Orleans for 12 years and can only play two songs But his small company is doing well and supporting his family. Stephanie Crawford is founder and owner of Best in Class Tutoring, a private tutoring service that helps students with whatever their learning needs but particularly specializes in test prep for the ACT and SAT. Stephanie founded the company in 2014, after spending five years in the classroom and another six years at the LSU Academic Center for Student Athletes, where she mentored and tutored student athletes, hired and trained tutors, and ran hundreds of appointments a week. Today Stephanie travels the country giving professional development seminars and teaching ACT and SAT prep classes. Photos at Mansurs on the Boulevard by Karry Hosford.
