When did you last have a moment when you felt shame? Shame is a feeling of embarrassment or humiliation that arises from the perception of having done something dishonorable, immoral, or improper. Maybe we did something that embarrassed us, and when we think about it now, the shame resurfaces. As a child, Lili always felt ashamed because she was different. She is Asian and grew up in a Latino country. For Shannon, as a child, shame emaciated from her body. She never felt good enough because of the information she had gotten from other people. She was in survival mode, and her anxiety hit its peak. At some point, her anxiety could cause panic attacks. She never sought any professional help, but she came across meditation which came in as a savior for her. For Shannon, she has had social anxiety for the better part of her life. Have you ever attended the New Living Expo in San Francisco or any other spiritual fair? What was your experience? In this episode, we share our experiences at the New Living Expo. This Expo is like a spiritual fair. And apparently, this is their 20th annual New Living Expo. Their website says it's an expo for holistic practices and scientific experiences. We looked at it like a mixed bag of everything you can think and not think of regarding spiritual practices. The first thing we did was to take our aura photo. Lili paid about $40, while Shannon spent a little more than that. Lili didn't enjoy the experience because she felt it lacked a personalized touch, and what the interpreters said seemed general. Shannon enjoyed her reading and her AI-aided interpretation was something she related with.Next, we had channeled readings where we sat with two people with psychic and mediumship abilities. They were channeling and receiving information and writing it down. We found this experience relatable and enjoyable; this was the most exciting reading we had that day. Listen in to hear the finer details of our readings. What myth have you heard about psychics? We know we have too many more myths out there than we can debunk. In this episode, we debunk three popular myths about psychics.1. Are psychics frauds? We know many people out there think we psychics are frauds. Unfortunately, there are psychics who are not genuine and are just after swindling people. Shannon remembers an encounter she had in New York with a psychic. They offered to read her energy and told her she had a dark entity attached to her soul. The psychic asked Shannon for some money for her to learn more. Shannon spent $300, and the psychic wanted even more from her. That's an example of an illegitimate psychic. 2. Can psychics read our minds? People fear psychics and mediums because they think they can read their minds. That's far from the truth. Psychics can read your energy and not your mind. 3. Psychics can predict the future: Do you think that's true? No, it isn't. We can only see patterns but cannot predict the future, considering many changes happen. Just before the Covid pandemic, Sylvia Browne predicted it. It wasn't exactly how she predicted it. Is that why people believe we can foretell the future? In this episode, we also share some tips on how to spot legitimate psychics. Listen in and learn.Key Talking Points of the Episode:[01:54] Are psychics frauds? Shannon's experience with a fraud[15:04] Lili's experience with swindlers[15:48] Can psychics read minds?[24:18] Psychics can predict the future[32:27] How to spot a medium or psychic who is not legitimateMagical Quotes from the Episode:“If someone reaches out to you offering readings, that's a red flag.”“When you're able to authentically serve other people through the power of facilitating and reading and a healing, there's always a healing for yourself.”“Sometimes, like being open is great. But then it's like you can't be super open where you do not practice any discernment.”Have you ever been swindled by someone who pretends to be a psychic? We'd love to hear your story. What is your current spiritual trend? Are you aware of it?The Abraham-Hicks event we attended a couple of weeks ago inspired this episode. It opened our eyes to see our spiritual trends. Shannon started her new job two months ago. Lately, she has realized her life revolves around work. Her heart and soul are poured out to work, and she has not had time for sustainable self care. Her trend is setting boundaries and adhering to them.Lili was diagnosed with Pneumonia. As she went through treatment, she realized it was more than just Pneumonia. Her heart chakra needed healing. She had a past life regression therapy session and the process was incredible and profound. In this episode, we dig deep into the various trends we are on, the new habits and routines we are developing, and how to start new trends and pay attention to them. Listen in and learn.Key Talking Points of the Episode:[00:37] Shannon's idea of spiritual trending[02:55] What has Lili been trending on? Do you practice manifestation? Chances are, we have people who think they don't. The truth is we are always manifesting based on the choices we make or don't make. We agree that manifestation is a great tool, but we all need to learn how it works.Recently, we had the privilege of attending a live event with Esther Hicks, an American Inspirational speaker, channeler of Abraham-Hicks, and author of several books. The lessons we got from the workshop are so important, and that's why we share them today. One of the biggest takeaways Lili had was the power of paying attention. You need to pay attention to focus on what you want. She remembers the analogy of the boiling point. According to Abraham-Hicks, if you have a pot on a stove, you get distracted and turn off the stove. Later, come back, put it on, and get distracted again. That pot will never boil. We need to remain focused on what we want.Shannon's greatest takeaway was on dealing with our limiting beliefs. Sometimes we want something so much, but at the back of our minds, we have beliefs that hinder us from getting what we want. We must address the barriers and prepare to receive what we want.Listen as we share lessons from the Abraham-Hicks workshop.Key Talking Points of the Episode:[01:24] Our experience at the Abraham-Hicks event[09:09] Shannon's biggest takeaway from the workshop[11:01] Lili's most significant takeaway from the workshop[14:29] Dealing with our limiting beliefs[16:49] The power of focusing[24:02] Putting in the work to get what you want; what are you trending on?[31:44] Patience is keyMagical Quotes from the Episode:“Anything that you want in your life starts within yourself, and it's not a secret.”“It's very hard to focus on the things that you really want, if your attention is not there.”“You are essentially the author of your own narrative, you're creating your own thoughts based on how you feel.”“Manifestation is having an intention, but also you have to take action.”“Not everyone has the availability or the bandwidth, to then keep up with whatever that they are looking for, or their desire.”Resources: Abraham-Hicks Publication Note: This podcast is for informational and entertainment purposes only.Support the showWhere to find us:WebsiteInstagramTikTokYouTube
Communication is the ability to convey ideas and express thoughts and emotions. Unfortunately, many of us have not mastered the art of communication. The good news is, it is a soft skill that we can learn.Take a moment and look back at your childhood. How was your communication? Have you improved over the years? We share a similar story of how we communicated as children. We were not outspoken and tended to withdraw instead of saying what we really felt. The silent treatment was a way of letting other people know we were unhappy. Over the years, our communication has gotten better. We can now comfortably express our thoughts and feelings. In this episode, we share how we have been improving our communication. Also, we will share our experience at the Tyler Henry event. Tyler is an American reality show personality who appears in a series of TV shows here in the US, and he showcases his mediumship and clairvoyant abilities. We witnessed him giving people readings during the show we attended, and the messages could not have been more specific. They all had personalized readings. How much do you trust your information? We know just how difficult it is to trust our information. Sometimes we let other people influence us to make decisions against our intuitions, and we end up in a hot mess. Lili recalls ten years ago in LA. One of her friends was moving from their apartment, and they wanted Lili to take it up in case they came back later. It would be easier to have it back. Deep down, Lili didn't want it. She consulted with people who made her believe it was a good idea. Her friend offered to pay half the rent since it was higher than Lili's. Besides being more expensive, the apartment was too far away from all the jobs Lili had. A few months down the line, Lili's friend stopped chipping in with the rent. Lili's failure to trust her intuition cost her a lot. Shannon grew up with a voluntary parental role. She was always taking care of other people starting with her sister. Her experience made it difficult for her to depend on other people. She had a rough time expressing her needs in her relationships. These relationships always hurt her deeply, especially when people rejected her because she gave her all to them. Deep down, Shannon knew she wasn't doing right by herself, but she continued. In this episode, we will share how we learn to trust our intuitions, the boundaries we are setting and what we are unlearning. First things first, we are glad to announce that we are officially Reiki Masters! In this episode, we talk about getting into the space of meditation. There is an increase in the number of people practicing meditation nowadays, but even more people are yet to get into the space. According to Lili, meditation is a way of cleaning up emotionally and spiritually. It brings to your attention the things you need to address and helps you deal with your triggers. When Shannon started meditating, she discovered she was angry with the men she was dating. Meditation helped her look at her situation with a more neutral eye. For Lili, meditation never seemed like it was meant for her. She never understood how one could sit still and alone for five minutes. When she started with guided meditation, she often fell asleep. Growing up, what was life like for you? Did you have everything you wanted, or was life average for you?How we grew up greatly correlates with how we view abundance and prosperity. Lili grew up in an average family. Her mom was a stay-at-home, while her dad was an engineer. They didn't have everything they wanted, but the bills got paid. When Lili grew up, she knew she had to work extra hard wherever she wanted. Unfortunately, the victim and survival mentality cropped in from her upbringing. Limiting beliefs became her way of operating. When she moved to the US, having money for her next meal was all she kept looking forward to. Sometimes she ate one meal daily to ensure she had enough the whole week. For Shannon, both her parents were working, but it was evident that they didn't have money for extra things. They would only have extra things when her grandma would step in. Shannon confesses that comparing how they lived and how their relatives lived gave her the idea that they didn't have a lot. She recalls her mom would save for a year to buy them Christmas gifts. As soon as Shannon discovered how much they didn't have, her money went to enjoying herself when she got her first job. At 16, they had their first vacation, and it opened her mind to believe there was more to life.Shannon's lack mentality continued long after she had joined the workforce. She would settle for jobs that paid her less than she deserved. Reading The Secret by Rhonda Byrne led her to change her scarcity mentality and adopt a mindset of prosperity and abundance. In this episode, we will share our journey to creating and managing the energy of prosperity and abundance. In episode five, we shared our first Reiki experience. Today we share our Reiki II experiences. Having experienced Reiki I, we can say that Reiki two was not as intense as we expected. It had only one attunement compared to the four we had in Reiki I.The most amazing thing about Reiki II is how we learned to move energy from one part of the body to the other. Also, through the Reiki training, Shannon has discovered that she wants to dig deeper into Shamanism. She wants to volunteer at hospice centers and practice on people close to transitioning out of their physical bodies and being ready to move on to the next chapter. Can we call her a Death Doula? Besides our Reiki experience, we share the recent changes we are making in our lives.Listen to hear more.Key Talking Points of the Episode:[01:11] Reiki I versus Reiki II Lili's experience [02:28] Shannon's experience with Reiki II[02:36] Reiki as a spiritual framework for healing[09:31] What is death doula?[15:13] What is change, and how does it impact you?[20:23] What is transitioning, and why is it importantMagical Quotes from the Episode:“If you don't change your perspective, if you don't change your limiting beliefs, how will we grow and evolve? Is there a difference between being a psychic and a transmedium? A medium receives a message from spirit, just like a receiver in a radio, and then facilitates communication. You pretty much receive messages from loved ones. Conversely, a psychic reads your aura or energy field for information regarding career love, relationships, and more.Lili has both psychic and medium abilities. She has had training for both. According to Lili, being a medium can be scary and exhausting sometimes. Lili prefers being a psychic over a medium. She says if you are a medium, you need to learn how to listen to your body and have boundaries to avoid getting overwhelmed. For Shannon, she's more of a psychic than a medium. She would say a mini medium. She's had my experiences being a medium, and will share them in this episode. Also, we will share how we pick energy and messages from our surroundings. Listen to hear more. Key Talking Points of the Episode:[01:17] Difference between a psychic and medium[01:57] Lili's s experience being psychic and a medium[10:10] Lili's perception of the Clairvoyant setup and how it compares to the medium training setup[13:47] Shannon's experience being a psychic and a medium[26:27] Picking energy from people's spaces[32:20] What to do when you experience different energies around youMagical Quotes from the Episode:“Pay attention to what you're attracted to. Halloween is around the corner. How do you plan to celebrate your holiday this year? Have you picked up costumes? This episode we'll look at Halloween's spiritual energy and significance. Over the years, Halloween has evolved, and it is currently commercialized, and most people celebrate it for fun. Halloween, also known as All Hallows Eve or All Saints Eve, is celebrated each year on October 31. Halloween's origins date back to the ancient Celtic festival of soul in the Celtics who lived 2000 years ago, mostly in the area that is now Ireland, the EU and the United Kingdom. Northern France celebrated their new year on November 1.This day marks the end of summer and the harvest and the beginning of the dark, cold winter. It's a time of year that is often associated with human death. The Celts believed that the night before the New Year, the boundary between the worlds of the living and the dead became blurred. On the night of October 31, they celebrated Samhain, and when it was believed that the ghost of the dead returned to Earth, people would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off ghosts. That said, people have different Halloween histories and celebrate the day in different ways.Lili grew up in Brazil. Halloween was not part of her upbringing, but they had All Saints Day, which was dedicated to remembering loved ones who had passed on earlier. For Lili they used to go to her dad's graveyard. Her first experience with Halloween was when she moved to the US. Shannon grew up celebrating Halloween, and loves dressing up. This year she plans on dressing up like a High Priestess from the tarot card deck. Do you experience psychic dreams? Are they recurring, lucid or precognitive? In this episode, we will share the different dreams we have had. It's amazing that at one point we both had similar dreams around the same time. Shannon has had several dreams ranging from lucid, recurring, and precognitive. The most exciting thing about her recurring dreams is that recently during a meditation session in clairvoyance training, she healed what was causing them. Shannon's cognitive dream was about her friend who had stage four cancer. She dreamt of having a deep, healing conversation with her. Shannon has also been having weird dreams of spiders lately, and she is yet to understand what the dreams mean. For Lili, she had precognitive dreams involving two of her friends' relationships. One was cheating on his partner and the other being cheated on by her partner. Also, she had dreams where she would see her late dad, especially when she was going through rough patches in my life. His protective energy was always around her. We believe dreams are powerful and trying to understand their meaning is essential. Dream interpretation can be back-dated to around 5000 years ago in Mesopotamia. The earliest recorded dreams were documented on clay tablets in the Roman and Greek periods. People believe that dreams were messages sent directly from one or more DTS from deceased people and were the predictors of the future. Also, some cultures practice dream incubation. They intended to cultivate dreams of prophecy and dreams. They have been the subject of religious, and psychological interest in a topic of scientific speculation throughout recorded history.Would you like to hear more about our dreams? Have you experienced the amazing goodness of Reiki? How did you like it? Did it open gateways for you to heal your energy or physical body? You all know Reiki is becoming popular. We decided it would be amazing to try Reiki sessions. Not long ago, we attended a Reiki I Training Class. Our lives haven't been the same. Our energy levels have shifted for the better, and our spirituality has deepened. Reiki is a Japanese form of energy healing, an alternative or holistic medicine. Reiki practitioners use a technique called Palm healing, or hands-on healing, through which universal energy is transferred through the palms of the practitioner to the patient to encourage emotional or physical healing. Reiki has three levels namely: Reiki Level 1: The First Degree (Shoden)Reiki Level 2: The Second Degree (Okuden)Reiki Level 3: The Third Degree (Shinpiden) or Reiki MasterOne fantastic thing about Reiki is that different people have different experiences with attunements. One of the benefits we enjoyed in common was that our energy levels healed, and it created room for us to work on things that we had postponed forever. For instance, Shannon started working on her novel, and Lili finished working on her meditation workshop. Listen to this episode to hear more.Key Talking Points of the Episode:[00:38] What is Reiki healing?[01:02] The three degrees of Reiki[03:26] Shannon's experience with Reiki training[06:29] Lili's first attunement[11:13] Shannon's second attunement[20:00] How Reiki is has impacted us[33:10] You need to trust yourselfMagical Quotes from the Episode:“I love when someone or something can just reframe a concept for me mentally. I love frameworks in general. I think this Reiki is just a new framework that I can channel my abilities and healing, and I want to practice on everyone I know.”“Where attention is, that's where your energy goes.”Have you experienced Reiki? An aura is an invisible energy that surrounds living things. Aura photography seeks to capture coronal electrical discharges. Aura photography can be dated back to 1939. It was invented by Russian inventor Semyon Kirlian and his wife Valentine. They were observing a patient getting treatment from an electrical generator. The patient's skin emitted a neon glow. Semyon and Valentine wanted a way of capturing that and they ended up developing Kirlian photography.Once your aura photo is taken, it is accompanied by a reading which explains the colors visible on your portrait. In this episode, we will be looking at how psychics look at auras. Also, we will share our experiences with having an aura photo taken. Shannon took had her first aura photo taken in 2018/2019. Disclaimer: Trigger warning to those with disordered eating tendencies. Do you enjoy being in the body you are in now? We have given other people the power to define beauty for us, yet we all have different definitions. We need to reclaim our power. Are you feeling unhappy with your body? This episode is for you. We have been there before and know precisely what that place feels like. We've had seasons when we hated our bodies. In this episode, we will share our body awareness journeys and help one or two people.Lili is both Latino and Asian. She was born and raised in Brazil, a body-centric country. Lili grew up extremely sensitive about her body. She vividly remembers when her mother signed her up for ballet. She felt and looked heavier than all the other children in the class, and her teacher kept pinpointing it. That took a toll on Lili. All she wanted to do was to shed all that weight. She went on crash diets, but the weight would return as soon as she dropped the diet. In her 30s, Lili wanted to embrace a healthy lifestyle, leading her to become a gym rat. Sometimes she would go to the gym twice a day to satisfy her obsession. Also, she became restrictive with her food. When she turned 35 and pre-menopause hit, she gained a lot of weight. Lili reverted to crash diets again. When she took Psychic classes, meditation helped her look at her body from within and look at her body with neutrality. It helped Lili not to judge other people based on their bodies. For Shannon, in third grade, a boy touched her stomach and called her Pillsbury Dough girl. That was the beginning of her body awareness. In fifth and sixth grades, she saw her friends had boyfriends, but she didn't have one. She looked at it as a fault on her end because she was chubby. When she hit 30, she decided it was time for consistency. Unfortunately, she was still looking for validation from outside, and always ended up invalidated, especially by the men she dated. she took a break from the dating scenes to recollect herself in every aspect. Looking back, that's the best decision she ever made. How many jobs have you had? We have had numerous jobs. Some were jobs we loved, others were draining, and others were jobs we took just because we needed jobs.At the age of twelve, Shannon took up a babysitting job. She babysat for a family that had abundance and enjoyed connecting with them. She taught swimming lessons a few times a week and later worked at a Day Spa Salon as an admin. It involved scheduling and confirming appointments. After college, she did not want to take any corporate jobs, so she decided to be a nanny. She nannied for a family and later felt she needed to get a "real" job. Her fear was she felt like she was doing the family a disservice. In 2013, she moved to San Francisco to sell a cultural exchange program. She hated calling 300 people weekly to sell the program. Later she moved to a billing coordinator role which she found energetically draining because she had to deal with many issues. In 2015 she joined a clairvoyant training program which opened her up to accepting that she needed to leave her workplace. She always thought she wanted to be a kindergarten teacher, but ended up in HR after working as an executive assistant for several people. For Lili, her career path has not been any different. She started as an English teacher at the age of 18 till she joined college. She graduated from University in Brazil with a BA in Advertising and Publicity with post graduation in marketing. Back then, Lili was interning at many advertisement agencies, recording studios, and everything related to that. By default, she thought that was the path for her, but life had other plans. She ended up working as a marketing coordinator in a travel agency that would send people for exchange programs in different parts of the world, and that's how she ended up in the US to date. When she landed in the US, she lived in San Francisco and later moved to LA and took any job she came across. It got tiring to juggle all those jobs, and she took a job at a student exchange program, but it was too much for her.In 2008, she started working in different English schools, but the jobs became draining. It was a tough time to separate work stuff from personal life. Things bled into each other. In 2014, she moved back to San Francisco, at the cultural exchange organization but in a different department. Being contained in a cubicle was not working for her. She went back to working at an English school, but her job ended. She became a nanny for multiple families and started meditation and clairvoyant training. When Covid hit, she thought people no longer needed nannies now that working from home had become the new normal. She was wrong. Parents needed support. Today she works with just one family, teaches meditation at the school she graduated from and is an energy healer. Shannon's primary goal is to set up her healing practice where she can be in control of her time.Listen to this episode to hear the juicy details of the episode.Key Talking Points of the Episode:[01:15] Shannon's career journey and the difficulties she had to overcome[35:38] Lili's Career journey and how her psychic abilities have helped her [51:33] Lessons that Lili took from all the jobs she has hadDo you have a story psychic story that you'd like to share with us? Do you believe you possess some psychic gifts but are not confident enough to let them manifest? This episode is for you! We know what you are going through because we have been there. We both have different stories with a lot of similarities. We grew up in families that practiced various religions, and because of our psychic gifts, it was extremely difficult for us not to question the beliefs and teachings. In this Psychic Girl Next Door episode, we will share our stories about discovering our gifts. My gift to me (Shannon) is the ability to read a room. Since I was six, I could comfortably tell the different energies in a room. Also, I could distinguish good people and bad people. I would always point out people with a weird vibe. Later found out that my mom and dad also had psychic abilities. I believe it is a family thing. When I moved to San Francisco in my early 20s, that's when I learned things started opening for me. I went to meditation school, and all I wanted was to learn more and more about my unique gift. For Lili, growing up, she had a nanny who was like a priestess. She dealt with a lot of spirit guides. The nanny would feed Lili a lot of information at her tender age. By then, Lili didn't know she had psychic ability. She would hear spirits at night, which would scare her. Lili shut her unique ability down, but she would still experience psychic dreams. Later she discovered the law of attraction and dated a psychic, which inspired her to dig deeper into spirituality.Listen to this episode and learn more about our stories.Key Talking Points of the Episode:[00:18] Understanding the word psychic[01:16] How Shannon's gifts of psychic developed[07:17] How Lili discovered she has psychic abilities[19:14] The essence of this podcast Magical Quote from the Episode:“It's kind of it's interesting how rock bottoms propel and skyrocket you.
