Automation as Core Strategy: Aarin Bailey on RPA, AI, and Scaling MSP OperationsOn the Evolved Radio podcast, Todd interviews Aarin Bailey, COO at Webit Services and former COO at MSP Bots, about treating automation as a core MSP operating strategy. Aarin describes how his automation focus accelerated around COVID by chaining PowerShell scripts, later expanding into Python, GUIs, and modular systems connected via RESTful APIs, with much of the computation running outside the RMM on servers (including SQL and Python) while the RMM remains mainly a monitoring and job-push layer. They discuss whether RMM is a “zombie product,” the ongoing role of PSA/ticketing as a system of record, and managing complexity through separate modules and staff literacy in Python/RPA. Aarin explains build-vs-buy decisions driven by ROI and fit, cites automated triage/dispatch with ~98% accuracy and shifting token costs, argues AI should augment rather than replace humans, and emphasizes documentation, playbooks, and focusing on operational “bad” anomalies. They also cover client tolerance for AI, limiting client-facing AI after hallucinated ticket notes, skepticism about voice AI, and concerns about AI economics and subsidies. This episode is brought to you by Opsleader Pro. A place for MSP owners and managers to get the systems and tools they need to build a stable and growing MSP. Part group coaching, part peer group, everything you need to run a successful MSP. Season 20, Episode 49 of The Adventures of Pipeman. It's the Pipeman in the Pit weekly segment of The Adventures of Pipeman.Chapter 1: Carmine Appice and his reformed Cactus on behalf of the new blues rock album, Temple Of Blues II, that's due out April 3 via Cleopatra Records. Now the Temple opens again, this time for an all-star aggregation that recalls Ted Nugent, Billy Sheehan, Bumblefoot, Dee Snider and Pat Travers from volume one, alongside an all-new wave of heavy hitters including Steve Morse (Deep Purple), Tracii Guns (L.A. Guns), Joe Lynn Turner (Rainbow, Deep Purple), Rudy Sarzo (Ozzy Osbourne, Quiet Riot), Alex Skolnick (Testament), and a whole lot more! And Temple Of Blues II takes us back to their birth. That summer, Cactus were among the main attractions at the Isle of Wight Festival in England, and the new album's “Purple Haze” reunites them with both another of that bill's audience favorites, Melanie, and its overall headliner, Jimi Hendrix.Elsewhere on this thunderous sequel, Pat Travers returns for the mighty “Moanin' At Midnight,” Joe Lynn Turner joins Morse, Carmine's Guitar Zeus bandmate Tony Franklin and Derek Sherinian (Dream Theater) for “Bad Stuff,” Dee Snider (Twisted Sister) and Tracii Guns (L.A. Guns) lead the way for “The Little Red Rooster,” and Ted Nugent and Bob Daisley (Rainbow) join forces for an astonishing “Spoonful.”Track List:1. Back Door Man Pt. 1 & 2 feat. Billy Sheehan & Britt LightningChapter 2: American heavy metal icons, ARMORED SAINT, are back with their anticipated new full-length, Emotion Factory Reset, set for release on May 22nd through Metal Blade Records.Produced, as were the previous four albums, by bassist Joey Vera and mixed by Jay Ruston (Anthrax, Stone Sour) the record finds the quintet challenging themselves. Songs like “Close To The Bone,” “Hit A Moonshot,” and “Every Man-Any Man”The collaborative nature of Emotion Factory Reset led to the album title, a phrase from Phil Sandoval. “To me, ‘Emotion Factory Reset' means to reset yourself back to clarity. Take a pause and breathe before you respond or react. You can't control outside events, but you can control your mind,” the guitarist says. “How you interpret things is what hurts you, not the event itself.”ARMORED SAINT Presents “Hit A Moonshot” Video / Single From Emotion Factory Reset Full-LengthIn advance of the record's release, the band presents the first single and album opener, “Close To The Bone.” Comments Bush, “The first track on the record sounds like vintage ARMORED SAINT. Yet vintage that comes out in 2026! How did we do that? The title of the record, Emotion Factory Reset appears as the first line of the bridge. Killer riffs, awesome rhythms and attacking vocals gets this train rolling. The title implies the human response to withdraw and keep things to yourself instead of being confrontational; Something I believe we all struggle with as humans. Do you just say, ‘aww, whatever man,' or do you say, ‘hey, fuck you!' Depends on the moment I guess.”Click Here to Subscribe to The Adventures of Pipeman for PERKS, BONUS Content & FREE GIVEWAYS! Take some zany and serious journeys with The Pipeman aka Dean K. (0:10 - 0:48) The podcast episode begins with hosts Marcy Gordon and Beth Costa introducing the show and thanking sponsors like Ron Rubin and River Road Family Vineyards and Winery for their support (0:49 - 1:14) They welcome their guest, Virginie Boone, a celebrated wine writer and podcast host for "The Good Stuff" with Karissa Kruse, and discuss her extensive contributions to wine publications. (1:14 - 1:49) Virginie reflects on her experience as a guest on their show and the benefits of co-hosting, which allows for diverse perspectives and shared responsibilities. (1:50 - 11:48) The conversation highlights Virginie's blog for Sonoma County Wine Growers, where she covers a wide range of topics, from local agricultural history to broader cultural trends, showcasing her curiosity and storytelling skills.  (3:12 - 6:08) Virginie shares her background as a travel writer for Lonely Planet, detailing her early career in digital content and community building, including her work on the Thorn Tree forum. She recounts her transition from travel writing to wine writing, emphasizing the natural connection between the two fields due to their shared focus on sense of place and storytelling. Virginie discusses her current work for Jeb Dunnuck, covering wine regions in California, Washington, Spain, and Argentina, and reflects on her long-standing fascination with Argentina, which she finally visited after years of interest. She also mentions her fluency in French and how it aids her work in Spain, where many winemakers have ties to France. (11:49-18:08) The discussion shifts to Virginie's personal history, including her upbringing as an army brat, her French mother's cultural adjustment to life in the U.S., and her family's eventual settlement in San Francisco. Virginie explains her move to Sonoma County around the time of 9/11, drawn by the region's beauty, proximity to San Francisco, and vibrant community. The hosts and Virginie discuss favorite local spots, including restaurants like Stella and Glen Ellen Star, and wineries like Ramsgate and Beltane Ranch, highlighting the area's rich culinary and wine offerings. (18:09-27:03) The conversation touches on the evolving wine industry, including the rise of white wines and their appeal to younger generations due to their freshness, versatility, and compatibility with diverse cuisines. Virginie and the hosts discuss the importance of independent wine writing, the challenges of modern media, and the joy of discovering well-written, inspiring wine stories. They reflect on the connection between travel writing and wine writing, emphasizing the value of personal experiences and storytelling in understanding wine. (27:04-45:05) Virginie shares her aspirations to visit South Africa, drawn by its wine culture and natural beauty, and discusses the importance of immersing oneself in the places and people behind the wines. The hosts and Virginie explore the concept of "The Good Stuff," inspired by a TED Talk by Karissa Kruse, which encourages savoring life's pleasures and sharing positive stories. They joke about creating a contrasting "The Bad Stuff" series but ultimately focus on the resilience and community spirit of Sonoma County, especially in the face of challenges like wildfires. (45:06-50:34) The episode concludes with a "Fast Five" recipe segment featuring Jacob from Mounds Family Winery, who shares a simple dish of whipped ricotta and marinated tomatoes paired with wine. The hosts announce upcoming events, including the Passport to Dry Creek and the Spring Wine Trail, and discuss the Writing Between the Vines retreat program, which offers writers an opportunity to work in Sonoma's wine country. The episode wraps up with gratitude for Virginie's participation and a reflection on the joy of connecting through wine and storytelling.

When I was a kid, and I had to go down to the basement to fetch something for my mom, I hated opening that door. And once the errand was accomplished, I would run up the steps like the devil himself was after me. There was something about the dark and unknown that my naive little heart wanted nothing to do with. Today, the notion of gatekeepers and hall monitors for the deep state has that same effect on me. I don’t even want to open the door. But in an important conversation today with Alex Newman, we talk about one of the poster boys for basement level boogeymen: Jeffrey Epstein. He didn’t own a country or a title, wasn’t a Caesar, Kaiser or Tzar.  And yet his influence is massive and we have to ask why. The answers may shock you. Why is the nation so obsessed with Epstein? We also talk about bad actors in public schooling and in climate agendas. Have you ever begged God for something only to fall into deep disillusionment when He fails to come through for you? Maybe you have been begging God for healing over sickness… Maybe you have been waiting for a miracle that hasn't happened in your relationships yet… Maybe you have asked God for help financially and you are BROKE… We all have felt disappointment when coming to God with stuff but what is the real reason why our suffering is happening and is God allowing all this bad stuff to happen? Today I went to an amazing friend for his thoughts on this. Wes Pickering is the online pastor t my church and one of the more trusted voices of faith in my life.
