Thorsten Pattberg discusses the struggle between East and West and how after having dominated for centuries, the West is now giving way as Asia returns to the forefront. He comments on the subversion carried out in the East by "Western press soldiers," how there is an informational iron curtain coming down, and whether he sees military conflict in the cards. China is advancing in tech and has had to struggle to keep Western globalization from encroaching on its own culture. He also refers to the EU as the Fourth Reich! Beyond Religion: Embracing Your Unique Spiritual Journey In this episode, I open my heart to share my personal journey with spirituality and religion. Growing up in a Catholic family, I experienced the sacraments and all the rituals that came with them. But as time went on, I found myself moving away from the confines of organized religion. What I've learned is that spirituality has no rules—unlike religion—and each of our spiritual paths is beautifully unique. I encourage you to respect each other's beliefs without judgment or the need to impose your own. I'll also share a story from a mentoring session, where I highlight the importance of discovering your own spiritual connection, free from the weight of rigid rules. Remember, your journey is yours alone, and it's meant to be as vibrant and loving as you are. If it's Light, it's Right™! Find Cheryl here https://cherylbradley.com/contact/

Meg Calvin shares her transformative journey from a life dedicated to ministry to becoming a writing and marketing coach. She discusses the spiritual guidance she received throughout her life, the challenges of transitioning from a religious to a more spiritual path, and the healing process from purity culture. Meg also emphasizes the importance of dreams and intuition in her personal and professional growth, illustrating how these elements have shaped her identity and work. In this conversation, Meg Calvin and I delve into the significance of birthmarks, the transition from traditional publishing to self-publishing, and the importance of author rights and royalties. Meg shares her journey as a writing and marketing coach, emphasizing the need for aspiring authors to recognize their unique stories and the impact they can have on others. The discussion also covers practical steps for writing a book, encouraging listeners to embrace their narratives and take action towards their writing goals. Formerly in the non-profit world as a minister to children and families in the mainline protestant church, Meg spent nearly 15 years studying how the brain works toward her aim of building, catalyzing and comforting strong volunteer teams. In seminary, she studied curriculum writing and pastoral care. It was during her time in this role that she began coaching fellow ministerial leaders in professional sustainability with the International Network of Children's Ministry. She was blown away by how many ministers had limiting beliefs around self-care, their talents, relationships, money and ambition. She then stepped away from serving in the church, invested in marketing coaches for her own growth and began coaching Christian content creators in their marketing with BeADisciple.com for nearly three years while serving authors on the side. Send us a textWhen you and your family have spent your lives rooted in a particular religious tradition only to realize that your tradition does not openly welcome, support, and affirm your LGBTQ+ child or family member, it can be devastating. As a result, many parents end up leaving church. Some leave because of a lack of support, some because the church leaders and community shunned them or turned against them, some because they have a complete crisis of faith, unable to reconcile their love and support of their queer kids with the theological teachings of the church, leaving religion and faith behind altogether. Then the holiday season comes around, with various celebrations and traditions combining family and religion, and it can be overwhelming, confusing, and frustrating to know how to honor these traditions and engage in celebrations with a sense of meaning and authenticity. In this episode of the Men of Influence podcast, host Tim Holloway invites special guest Ray Mertens, a dedicated flooring contractor from Whitefish, Montana, who's been on a transformative journey for over 15 years. As a close friend and fellow advocate for men's healing, Ray shares his passion for freeing men from limiting beliefs and connecting them to the strength and resilience of their own hearts. Ray hosts his own podcast, Next Level Freedom, and uses his platform to guide men in tapping into their true potential and redefining masculinity. This powerful episode brings a raw, unscripted conversation between two men who have been transformed by the Heart Journey—a commitment to spiritual and emotional restoration. As the discussion unfolds, Tim and Ray explore the often-overlooked depths of Christianity that go beyond the “escape hell, go to heaven” narrative. Instead, they discuss what it means to truly live with Christ in us and to access a “resurrection life” that heals, renews, and aligns us with God's mission. They dive into the “Christ in you” revelation, which they believe fuels lasting change and spiritual growth, enabling men to find their identity in Christ and live with authentic purpose. Ray shares how embracing Christ within has reshaped his understanding of masculinity, prosperity, and healing, emphasizing that this journey is about living out one's faith, rather than merely performing or conforming to religious expectations. This episode is filled with insights on overcoming external and internal obstacles, reshaping mindsets, and cultivating a heart-centered approach to faith that is both “ludicrous and lucrative.” Tim and Ray call men to action, challenging them to slow down, reflect, and ask God to reveal His heart for them. This episode of Men of Influence will inspire listeners to embark on their own Heart Journey, engage in deep inner work, and carry forth the mission of bringing “heaven to earth” through each moment of their lives. Perfect for men looking to find true freedom, spiritual purpose, and authentic masculinity, this episode is a call to take bold steps toward a life filled with healing and divine transformation. “Our mandate as kingdom men is to bring heaven to earth. That means receiving all the goodness from the Father and sprinkling it to the men in our lives, in our families, in our businesses.” What you will learn: Heart-Centered Transformation Self-Discovery and Knowing God Living the ‘Inside-Out' Kingdom Divine Fellowship and Intimacy with God Learn more about Ray Mertens through the following links: Facebook School of Freedom Learn more about Tim through the following links: Facebook Podcasting group

In this episode, we dive into the experience of growing up without a strong spiritual foundation and the quest to find a sense of connection beyond traditional religion. Kim shares her story of facing life's hardships without the comfort of prayer or faith, and how this absence shaped her perception of spirituality. Through reading the Bible, exploring different faiths, and listening to motivational speakers like Joel Osteen, she began to redefine what spirituality meant for her. Eventually, she discovered that connecting with a higher power didn't have to fit a specific religious mold; rather, it could be about cultivating inner peace and purpose through practices like yoga, Reiki, meditation, and energy work. If you're feeling something is missing in your own healing journey, this episode offers insight into exploring spirituality in a way that resonates personally, encouraging you to find faith and connection on your own terms.

We're leaving behind organized religion in shocking numbers. In 1988, 17% of Americans said they never attended religious services. By 2021, this almost doubled to 31%. Church membership in the US has dropped below 50% for the first time in history. Even as the population grows, somewhere between 6,000 & 10,000 churches close down every year. Listen in as Dr. Phil and his guests delve into the hot topic of religion's shifting role in today's society. They unpack the societal impacts, share relatable stories of feeling disconnected from traditional practices, and brainstorm innovative ways for religious institutions to stay relevant in the modern age. The conversation balances the proven community perks of religious involvement with candid tales of disillusionment and hypocrisy that drive some away from organized faith. It's a deep dive into navigating faith in the 21st century, blending hard data with personal insights, and spotlighting the urgent need for religious institutions to evolve while staying true to their core spiritual values. Jesus critiqued organized religion's hypocrisy, groupthink, and lack of true righteousness. He valued humility, mercy, and seeking God's approval over empty rituals and self-righteousness. True faith involves a personal relationship with God, not just outward conformity, and certainly not relying on a sense of entitlement based on one's group identity.

Feeling lost and searching for a spiritual path outside of organized religion? This episode of Self-Reflection Podcast might be the answer you've been looking for. This dives deep into African spirituality with Dr. Kwasi Konadu, uncovering its core practices and philosophies was originally conducted and aired on “I never knew Tv” on YouTube.Dr. Konadu emphasizes the distinction between religion and spirituality. Religion, he explains, often relies on dogma and strict belief systems, whereas African spirituality is a practice that fosters a direct connection with the creative force of the universe. This connection is nurtured through simple yet powerful acts like breathing, meditation, and rituals like libation.Libation, the pouring of water or other offerings to the earth, is a cornerstone of African spirituality. Dr. Konadu explains how it serves as a way to connect with ancestors, express gratitude for life's blessings, and tap into the energy that flows through all living things. Unlike religious rituals, libation requires no specific beliefs or membership – it's a practice accessible to anyone seeking a deeper connection to themselves and the world around them. This episode is a treasure trove of insights for anyone interested in exploring spirituality outside of traditional religious frameworks. Dr. Konadu's message is clear: you don't need a specific belief system or affiliation to connect with your inner spirit and the universe's creative force. All it takes is a willingness to breathe, be present, and embrace the simple rituals that reconnect you to the earth and your ancestors.Lira encourages listeners to subscribe to the Self-Reflection Podcast and check out their YouTube channel for more inspiring content. This episode is written with the intention of exploring the middle ground between orthodox religion and orthodox science. For those who believe that this experience we call 'life' is both deeply meaningful and meant to be explored through the veracity of freedom, sovereignty, and authentic expression. For those searching for the middle ground where science and spirituality (as well as the belief in God) cannot only coexist but can actually coalesce to support one another in an explanation of reality that upholds our existence as being deeply meaningful and profound. An explanation that suggests that our lives, our creativity, and even our seemingly mundane experiences are unique, individuated expressions of the Divine—of God Source Consciousness—itself. Spirituality is declining in the United States if you focus on religious affiliation, but that isn't the whole story according to Morgan Shipley, associate professor of religious studies at Michigan State University. A recent Pew Research Center survey reports that 28% of U.S. adults say they are religiously unaffiliated. By digging a little deeper, Shipley finds the religiously unaffiliated, sometimes called the “nones,” are a diverse group of people often with a broader perspective of spirituality. As the MSU Foglio Endowed Chair of Spirituality, Shipley is exploring the changes in spirituality, belonging and religious identity through his research. Conversation Highlights: (0:59) – Shipley on his background and interest in religious studies. (4:00) – Why did you come to MSU for your PhD? Is there a collaborative ethos and sense of community and belonging at MSU that allows you to do your best work? (6:44) – Tell me about Father Jake. Barry Taylor and Tripp Fuller discuss the changing religious and spiritual space and how it shows up in culture. They reflect on the shift in the Western conversation in the last 25 years. Barry raises a growing awareness in how the concept of religion people thought they were updating, reorienting, and morphing, wasn't ultimately finding traction in the historic religious institutions. WATCH THE EPISODE HERE Barry Taylor's work is focused on the intersections between religion, theology and culture, with a particular emphasis on the impact and interplay of contemporary digital life on religion and belief (particularly Western Christianity). He is particularly interested in religion where it is least obvious and in cultural clinamens- the behavior and phenomena that escape our categorizing and thus provide opportunity for re-framing how we think and approach life. Barry works with GCAS as the Chair of the Theology department.
