USA Today Bestselling Author CARTER WILSON joins BOOKSTORM Podcast to talk about his highly anticipated psychological thriller TELL ME WHAT YOU DID! Poe Webb is the host of a popular podcast and she gets people to confess their crimes for a living ... but the truth of what she may have done may just undo her! Is Poe entering some type of weird and twisted sort of therapy session? Did it help or heal? What happens when the mind tricks you into believing something is true - confirmation bias? We talked about all the deep topics - this thriller is a fascinating study of intimacy. Are secrets intimacy killers? Poe and her father talk a lot about coping - he tells her to reframe loneliness as solitude, and that it's important to “get your mind right.” Haven't some of us spent a lifetime doing that?  How far from center does one's mind have to travel before it can never again course correct? Do we understand enough about trauma generally to answer that question? Intimacy, guilt, and murder ... dive deep with us! You'll be so glad you did!You can find more of your favorite bestselling authors at BOOKSTORM Podcast! We're also on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube!

That's par for the course when you're a savant—one of less than one hundred in the world. But despite her photographic memory and super-powered intellect, there's one mystery Penny's never been able to solve: why did her father leave when she was in a coma at age seven, and where is he now? For the first time ever, there's a return address. And a goodbye. Penny doesn't know the world beyond her mother's house and the special school she's attended since her unusual abilities revealed themselves, but the mystery of her father's disappearance becomes her new obsession. For the first time ever she decides to leave home, to break free of everything that has kept her safe, and use her gifts to answer the questions that have always eluded her. What Penny doesn't realize is she might not be able to outsmart a world far more complicated and dangerous than she'd ever imagined...

Sarah speaks with returning author Carter Wilson about his novel, The New Neighbor: "Aidan holds the winning Powerball numbers. Is today the best day of his life... or the worst? Aidan Marlowe is the superstitious type—he's been playing the same lottery numbers for fifteen years, never hitting the jackpot. Until now. On the day of his wife's funeral. Aidan struggles to cope with these two sudden extremes: instant wealth beyond his imagination, and the loss of the only woman he's ever loved, the mother of his twin children. But the money gives him and his kids options they didn't have before. They can leave everything behind. They can start a new life in a new town. So they do. But a huge new house and all the money in the world can't replace what they've lost, and it's not long before Aidan realizes he's merely trading old demons for new ones. Because someone is watching him and his family very closely. Someone who knows exactly who they are, where they've come from, and what they're trying to hide. Someone who will stop at nothing to get what they want..." Allen severed for several Presidents and ended his service with the Ronald Reagan administration. He and his wife Helene were invited by the Reagans to a state dinner (the first time ever for a butler.)After serving every President between Dwight D. Sarah interviews Carter Wilson about his suspense/thriller novel, The Dead Husband: "Twenty years ago an unspeakable tragedy rocked Rose Yates's small, affluent hometown... and only Rose and her family know the truth about what happened. Haunted by guilt, Rose escaped into a new life. Now she seems to have it all: a marriage, a son, a career. And then her husband is found dead. As far as Detective Colin Pearson is concerned, Rose is guilty. Her marriage wasn't as happy as she'd led everyone to believe, and worse, she's connected to a twenty-year-old cold case. She can play the part of the victim, but he won't let her or her family escape justice this time around. Grieving her husband and struggling to make ends meet, Rose returns home, hoping to finally confront her domineering father and unstable sister. But memories of a horrific crime echo through the house, and Rose soon learns that she can't trust anyone, especially not the people closest to her." Carter Wilson is the USA Today and #1 Denver Post bestselling author of six critically acclaimed, standalone psychological thrillers, as well as numerous short stories. He is an ITW Thriller Award finalist, a three-time winner of the Colorado Book Award, and his novels have received multiple starred reviews from Publishers Weekly, Booklist, and Library Journal. His latest novel, The Dead Girl in 2A, was released in July 2019. Carter didn’t plan to become a novelist. It was really quite by accident. He got his bachelor’s degree from Cornell and planned to work in hotel services. Then, on a spring day in 2003, an exercise to ward off boredom during a continuing-education class evolved into a 400-page manuscript. Since that day, Carter has been constantly writing. We chatted about the craft of thrillers, his writing technique, killing off characters, and how he plans his storylines. It’s been an amazing journey.
