The BG's are out in the streets this week. Between her ‘Watch What Happens Live' Show Debut and her live show at Joe's pub tonight, Anna has a lot of appearances to recap. She details her WWHL experience and the two wigs she brought to life behind the bar. Dre is in her resume builder era and started dance lessons at the well known Dance With Me studio. Speaking of lessons, Anna fondly recalls her saxophone days and Dre only remembers one song on the piano. To pay proper respects, Anna hit up the infamous Times Square ‘Forever 21' that's closing down and quickly discovered she and many other people shared a lot of 2am tipsy memories at that location. Ahhh yesss the Memz. Then they get into their TV shows and Morgan Wallen's awkward SNL stage walk-off. I guess he was just trying to “Get To Gods Country.” Plus, they talk the new season of “Farmer Wants A Wife,” which is…exactly what it sounds like. Justice has been served as it was announced that convicted murderer, Yolanda, was denied bail. Damn straight. All that and Benny Bianco's viral toe nail art. Gross? Maybe…but the nail art is impressive so we needed to debrief. If you love White Lotus, make sure to listen to last week's Celeb Catch-Up with Parker Posey and Jennifer Coolidge. For the lucky ones who presented this podcast to Episode 59, they have the chance of winning a life-changing amount of low-key kudos. But if a Traitor remains undetected, they'll steal all their credibility... So, Adam and Jo, are you Faithful, or are you Traitorish Behaviour? Smith & Waugh return for their first episode of 2024, taking a mediumish dive into the phenomenon of character comedy and considering the satirical potential therein (with reference to Garth Marenghi, Alan Partridge and Brian Butterfield), checking in on the Barbie-Ken-Oscar discourse, before having a big old chat about whether the film Poor Things is satire.

Kate Hanley Corley, comedian, music video creator, writer, mother. Kate does it all! We discuss how she came to do her first Fringe festival show in 2012, Melbourne International Comedy Festival show in 2013 and how it has all snowballed from there. She performs a lot of musical comedy in her shows, and has made numerous music video clips that have gone viral! Kate has enjoyed success from her first festival show onwards, and we get an insight into how she has made that happen. She talks about how she is starting to come out from behind the characters and music to do straight stand-up as herself. And oh yes, and Kate is a mother of three children in high school. No mean feat! How does she manage writing, producing and performing in her own shows while being a mother of three? Listen and find out! Kate knows how to promote effectively, and she's great at gathering a supportive team around her – essential skills for any professional performer. With the upcoming Melbourne International Comedy Festival, any performer looking for ways to get themselves out there – this podcast is a must! Kate shows us that we don't all have to tread the same path. Kate is having both creative and financial success without performing at 4 open mic nights per week. She has used character and musical comedy to create this success – unconventional these days on the comedy scene, but she makes it work, and has a following. She's expanding into more straight stand up now, but my point is that we don't all have to follow the same rule book. Do it our own way. Start with what we know, or what we have just learned, and go from there. I play you out with one of her hilarious parodies from lockdown – Victoria! You can find it on YouTube. It's hilarious – well worth checking out, as well as her show in the upcoming MICF – Bad Mother. Und was macht Alina? Stoisch weiter machen. Und wenn es Jahre braucht. Denn man will eben nichts anderes, verdammt. Alina lebt schon seit über 10 Jahren in L.A. - warum? “Man muss ganz unten anfangen.

Have you ever told a joke that nobody laughs at? Our guest today Jack, a New York University college student by day, shares about his times doing character comedy during his “6-to-8.” Jack started doing character comedy as he went to NYU and getting involved with many different things from writing a funny monologue, making a costume, and performing live at open mics and shows with his roommate around NYC. Growing up, he has always been drawn to making people laugh, watching comedy, and experiencing comedy with others. Let's dive right into this journey!

“Everybody has a uniqueness to them and I try to celebrate that.” — Richard W. Gretzinger Today I interviewed Richard W. Gretzinger Here’s more about him and his project The Vulnerability Project in his own words: The subject of my latest work is vulnerability. This is not a mid-life crisis, although sometimes it feels that way. It is my attempt to use photography to examine how vulnerability leads to connection in a disconnected world. So far I have been overwhelmed with the responses I have received and the amazing individuals I have met. I've photographed many people from all walks of life, and I will continue because I am finding that photography is just the means; what is most fulfilling are the intimate conversations about life, fears, regrets, love and joy. I see so much beauty in this world and in each person I photograph. So, as I continue my work I am revealing more about myself and the way art affects people. Part of me being vulnerable is to allow a place for others to comment and continue the conversation. At a recent gallery show I included a way for this to happen--a mirror, some pens and post-it notes. To my surprise, the reactions and the thoughts on vulnerability were many. Some of the notes brought me to tears. To catch up with our guest: @vulnerabilityphotoproject www.richgretz.com In this episode we speak about: How he went about creating a photography project that celebrates vulnerability What he does to bring vulnerability in the online space so people can go offline and have more empathy for others The lessons he’s learned about vulnerability have translated to his work as a cinematographer How he captures vulnerable moments and what he thinks about when he selects photos. Queens Marie asks a question about how to trust people when the world seems full of stupidmotherfuckingpieceofshitassholes. She wonders if being vulnerable will get her a boyfriend - and contemplates starting JuicyGuidoButNice.com If you enjoyed this podcast, could you please kindly consider leaving a short review on your podcast outlet.
